We went for my daughter's 26th birthday party, there were 10 of us family and friends. Even "grandpa" went! WHAT A BLAST!!! Everyone loved it! I haven't picked a favorite team yet (It's a toss up between the "Hell's Belles" and the "Double Crossers". Sorry girls but I just can't pick one!! But my husband was VERY fond of the "Double Crossers". In particular, Nina Millimeter" (I think it was the guns on her tush)!!! The birthday girl loved "Kola Loca" of "The Fury" and even got her autograph on a poster that read "blood is the new pink"! LOVE IT!! These girls are "tough" athletes. I was worn out just watching them! We understood the rules pretty fast, the announcers were excellent and fun! Beer, snacks, and team merchandise are available at the stadium. There's a "Party Bus" that meets at the Cobra Lounge and takes you to the Cicero Stadium. Next time, I think my husband and I will "do" the bus (even though we'll probably be the oldest ones on there)!!!

The "organization" waited until the last minute to delay the concert, cancelled the opening acts, paid fines to the City of Chicago ALL to AVOID refunding ticketholders. The Cubs can call it what they will, but it was ultimately THEFT BY DECEPTION! The concert did NOT go on as timed, the opening acts were cancelled, and the Cubs paid a fine to the City of Chicago because it was cheaper than offering refunds. I WILL NEVER set foot in Wrigley, I WILL NEVER AGAIN support the Cubs. The Cubs are nothing more than a money grubbing organization owned by Trump-like billionaires - profit over people. Concerns for concert-goer safety? That's just BS since they have cancelled games for less. This is the last I'll say about the money-grubbing Cubs organization. The Mumford & Sons concert and the Cubs' theft by deception will live with them as I can and am doing concerts elsewhere in the future - just not with them...

The other night I brought my son to just his second Bulls game. We were here a few years ago, which is an eternity in terms of the talent on the court. Gone are the days of miserable Pax/Gar teams (thank God) and replaced by awesome stars like Demar Derozan and Zach LaVine. Aside from the new found talent, I have to say that the entertainment factor here was amazing. As in, leaps and bounds better than any other sporting event we go to (and we go see a lot of games in different sports). The pregame intro is classic, the tv and called timeout skits were terrific and hysterical, and the halftime show was a collaboration of gymnasts and performers that put on one hell of a show. Honestly, I felt like I got my money's worth on non-game entertainment alone (despite not catching a parachuting t-shirt from the rafters)..lol. In addition to the game, I highly recommend getting here early to take in everything the building has to offer. The arena is stocked with Bulls and Hawks championship pennants hanging from the banners. One of their concourses is now home to the once outdoor MJ bronze statue, and we also found the case with Bulls 90's championship trophies. Those brought back fond memories. An exciting team that wins adds a lot of value, I'm not going to lie. But the non-game entertainment factor is phenomenal. Even if you aren't an NBA or Bulls fan, I'd still highly recommend stopping in sometime. GO BULLS!

Known as the "Friendly Confines", this is a MUST-VISIT spot, to catch a ball game, watch some great baseball, sip on a crisp/cold beer, and to munch on some classic stadium snacks. While yes, the drinks and food are quite pricey, that seems to be the way of baseball stadiums these days. It's worth every penny, in my opinion, to witness a game here. The beautiful ivy-covered outfield walls, the Marquee sign outside of the ballpark that one MUST take a photo with every game, the hand-operated scoreboard, the electrifying atmosphere, the sensation of having a Chicago dog or Cubs-hat-nachos in a beautifully historic ballpark, and getting to experience the "Go Cubs Go!" song after the Cubs win?! First the team here is so amazing and friendly, we were given complimentary drinks and a buffet of hotdogs and pretzels and popcorn, I took a couple of plastic cups as souvenirs. Everyone was so accommodating, one of the signature drinks for the book release had rum and I asked to switch it with tequila and there were no issues. I don't know how I could ever go to another baseball game and not think of being at 1914 Club, such a cool experience, also their bathrooms are top notch fancy.

My son got 4 free tickets from the American Diabetes Association since the Sky was featuring a Dribble to Stop Diabetes campaign throughout the game. They also presented a check at halftime for the ADA. The Sky play at Allstate Arena, not UIC Pavilion as they did in the past. I had my misgivings, since the Sky have a lackluster history of losing. Lucky for us, we saw a sharp team beat the Seattle Storm 78-69. The game experience was great despite only 1/4 capacity at the arena. The upper balconies were closed and there were still lots of empty seats in the mezzanine area. Heck, I saw empty courtside chairs up-front. But make no mistake, these fans are loud! It was as loud, if not louder than a Chicago Rush arena football game with a packed house of 16,000. If these fans came to a Rush game, there would be structural cracks from all the noise they'd produce. The typical Sky fans are sporty teen and pre-teen girls who are probably into basketball themselves, and their moms. I also saw lots of kids. An open area behind the basketball net allowed plenty of kids to come out and run around or dance during songs between periods or when the announcer asked fans to dance and wave to the cameras. There are plenty of diversions during timeouts, with an assortment of contests, games and a pretty acrobatic mascot who seemed to be everywhere. The women playing the game are true athletes. Forget the money, leave the egos. They play the game because they love it. There was no showing off, no trash talk or distracting displays of pompousness you'd get from an NBA team. The Sky have 3 very talented ladies this year, all of whom are headed to the WNBA all-star game. They play good defense, block shots, collect rebounds and get the ball in the net. All the excitement of seeing a game without the superfluous nonsense. I was genuinely pleased with the family-friendly atmosphere and the 2 hours of constant entertainment. Besides, there's plenty of room on the Sky bandwagon.

Since the championship they have produced a 41-83 record and that's not counting this season. My daughter loves our seats but it's too much to pay given our economy. It's ridiculous and should be known.
