My partner and I were traveling to Quad Cities on a little day trip. We came across Pee Wee's on Yelp and decided we should give it a try. One of the greatest decisions we've ever made. A cute little corner establishment, the owner, Big Will, was behind the counter taking orders. We got the 2 piece white meat chicken, cornbread, greens, mac & cheese, candied yams, red beans & rice, peach cobbler, and a slice of sweet potato pie. All of this totaled ~ $40 and was a perfect filling meal for 2 people. While we waited, Big Will chatted us up. He started Pee Wee's 8 years ago, made it through the challenges of a pandemic, and now runs the restaurant as a takeout only place. Need somewhere to sit? Take Big Will's recommendation (with excellent analog directions provided) and eat alongside the river just a few minutes down the road. With some of the most breathtaking views of the Mississippi in front of us, my partner and I sat in our car and dug into the most insanely good meal. The chicken was so juicy and beautifully seasoned. The yams were like all the flavors of fall in a cup. The greens were indescribably good. The red beans & rice was excellent. The peach cobbler was a treat. I really cannot recommend this place enough. I was smiling through the whole meal. I'm smiling writing this review remembering it :)

Witness a pizza and customer service fail at sooo many levels!…read more First this was ordered as a square cut sausage with extra cheese. Unless our eyes betray us, and we have four fully functioning one between us, there is not a piece of sausage anywhere on this pizza. Hey did you notice that it is cut in the "normal" way? Since Jay has only one hand square cut pizza is much easier for him to deal with. This cutting error seems to be the norm for this Papa Johns on Locust in Davenport, Iowa. More than 80% of the time we order from the Locust location the pizzas are cut incorrectly. Two errors under their belt, and we are not even half way into this review folks, read on! As reflected in the photo, delivery of this pizza was obviously made by the US Olympic Soccer Team! If the objective was to delivered the most mangled pizza we have ever seen - Goooooooooooaaaaaalllllllll! If that was not the plan, we dare say EPIC FAIL on a couple levels. Clearly the pizza was dropped or fell for a counter or seat. If we had been alerted to this prior to the delivery person leaving and is opening the box, cool we would have dealt with it as one of life's little whoopses and moved on. However, when a company knowingly puts a damaged product in the hands of a customer with no notice or accountability the company fails its customer, eliminates potential future customers, and has the propensity to seriously damage its name in the market place. One of our biggest issues with the order is the fact that we ordered a medium size veggie pizza at the same time (same order). The pizza was not delivered with the sausage "camouflaged as pepperoni" Papa John's Pizza. It was totally missing. This fact was pointed out to the delivery person. The individual that it would be delivered ASAP after he called the store. To date it has still not been delivered - at least not to us anyway. With the plethora of errors were compiled we called the store to give them a heads up and see if we could resolve the matter. After explaining our concerns, the gentleman who took the call informed Jay that they were really busy, took name and number and said he'd call back when things slowed down. As of today (12/1/18), no call, no resolution, nothing. We understand, and accept, that things will sometimes go wrong with delivery food - especially if the restaurant is very busy as the person answering the phone indicated on 11/27/18. However, no matter how busy you are with new customer orders, do not totally forget a customer who has already paid in full for a meal that was mangled, incorrect, incomplete, and already delivered. This situation provided both a learning and a coaching opportunity for this Papa Johns Pizza location. The company failed to take advantage of the scenarios and coach its staff and managers, while at the same time turning a very negative customer experience into one that could have a huge smile on our faces and GREAT review being posted about how Papa Johns took a near zero experience for us into a ten. #EpicFail When it comes to customer service our mantra has always been under promise and over deliver. Always strive to deliver excellent customer service. In the event that bad service is delivered, take immediate corrective action and turn the bad experience for your customer into a GREAT one!
