Long time Yelp user who's never left a review in their life, but that changes today!! Why? Because Pee Wee's is that good. My partner and I were traveling to Quad Cities on a little day trip. We came across Pee Wee's on Yelp and decided we should give it a try. One of the greatest decisions we've ever made. A cute little corner establishment, the owner, Big Will, was behind the counter taking orders. We got the 2 piece white meat chicken, cornbread, greens, mac & cheese, candied yams, red beans & rice, peach cobbler, and a slice of sweet potato pie. All of this totaled ~ $40 and was a perfect filling meal for 2 people. While we waited, Big Will chatted us up. He started Pee Wee's 8 years ago, made it through the challenges of a pandemic, and now runs the restaurant as a takeout only place. Need somewhere to sit? Take Big Will's recommendation (with excellent analog directions provided) and eat alongside the river just a few minutes down the road. With some of the most breathtaking views of the Mississippi in front of us, my partner and I sat in our car and dug into the most insanely good meal. The chicken was so juicy and beautifully seasoned. The yams were like all the flavors of fall in a cup. The greens were indescribably good. The red beans & rice was excellent. What can I really say about this place other than "Ermagherd!" After a week of trying various eateries all over Quad-Cities I'm so glad I found this place. It's off the beaten path in a residential neighborhood. It appears to have been a converted home and can easily be missed if you aren't keeping an eye out for it. This place, in my opinion, is the best eats in town. Soul food at its best. The people working here are by far the kindest and friendliest people around. They put a lot of work and love into their food and it definitely shows. The food and even the desserts are made from scratch. I ordered a fried catfish filet plate and was not disappointed. The plate came with two sides and cornbread. Collard Greens: Pure life altering joygasm. Yes joygasms all day because of these collard greens. You get real bits of turkey paired in well seasoned greens. A good tasting of salt and juices made for an amazing party in your mouth. Y'all need to try these greens. Please add this to your bucket list if you haven't already tried it. Mac and Cheese: Their mac and cheese is no frills awesomeness. Cheesy gooey goodness in every bite. There was a fair texture to it and not all mush. Plenty of flavor that unsurprisingly, pairs extremely well with the collard greens. Catfish Filet: A nice large catfish filet with perfect breading. It had a crunch and texture to it that's amazing. The catfish tasted clean and not muddy. Cooked fresh and came out hot. Breading never slid off the meat of the fish and held well. The fish went amazing with the tabletop hot sauce they had (Trappey's IIRC). Cornbread: Loved the cornbread. Had a taste that makes you want to go home and hug your family. That special nice to have side on your plate that just makes you want to smile the entire time you eat. Sweet Potato Pie: Bits of real sweet potato in the filling. Amazing... I can't even... I mean... just eat it please. All in all, this was the one establishment that I'd have to visit if I was in the area. Good, honest, down to earth delicious cooking. I've never had a meal where I just kept nodding my head in agreement at how good it was. If this place was in a major city like Los Angeles, Dallas, or New York I'd have no doubt that the food they serve would be building lines out the doors, down the streets, and around the corner. They cook their food when its ordered so its served fresh and hot. So there appears to a be a fair wait after ordering. Last night in Moline, and I was ono for some old fashioned comfort food. Searched Yelp and settled on Pee Wees a few miles away. Stopped by in the early afternoon. Pee Wees is in a residential district with lots of parking, although I'm sure it must get very busy around meal hours. Very clean interior. There are a few tables inside, it seems like the majority of their business is takeout. Wanted to try a couple of items, but they didn't have a mixed plate. Did the next best thing and got a smothered pork chop plate with 2 sides (collard greens, green beans) and a 2 piece chicken basket with fries. $16 not including tax or tip. In due time my order was ready and I took it back to the hotel. On the drive back I was tortured by the wonderful smell of the dishes, I couldn't wait to dig in! When I ate, the taste blew me away! The succulent gravy, the juiciness of the pork chop, the satisfying crunch and moistness of the fried chicken, and all 3 sides were thoroughly enjoyable! This was the best meal I had for both value and taste during my week trip to Rock Island! I will keep Pee Wee's in mind if my travels ever bring me back! Definitely repeat and recommend! read more

This down home spot has so many great options and have great flavor. I got the wings with honey hot sauce on the side and it was amazing. Great Soul food in the area. The cornbread that came with the platter was absolutely delicious and so moist. So often cornbread is dry but this was definitely not the case. The mac & cheese was also outstanding and it would match up with anything that I've ever ordered before. That is saying something because I have eaten a lot of Mac N Cheese! I did enjoy the red beans and rice because it is not a dish I get to eat often as it usually has pork in it but they had a non-pork variety and the owner threw in a sample for me! His version was not so much gravy but slightly more brothy and Very tasty and I really enjoyed the seasoning! We also ordered a small seafood gumbo and it also was tasty although I wish it had a bit more seafood but I understand that's an expensive product today. The wings were delicious while the fried fish was solid but not spectacular. The shrimp was cooked perfectly.
