Cheesesteaks at a wing place? Oh yeah, these guys got it right - not counting my recent trip to Philly, this was one of the best cheesesteaks that I've had in a long time. A super soft bun STUFFED with tender chopped steak, mushrooms and onions (I skipped the peppers) all mixed together with gooey white American. (I also skipped the mayo - who does that to a cheesesteak anyway?). This sandwich was huge - I was barely able to eat half. Make sure to grab extra napkins, the sandwich was so big and juicy, I made a mess. Where my meal lacked was the fries. My combo came with a mound of crinkle fries. Not sure what was wrong with them - they just weren't very good. My lunch mate agreed with me on this and he eats anything. Chick N Go also has chicken wings and tenders, 3 types of fried fish and a smattering of subs on their menu. Most everything comes with an option to add a side of wings for a nominal charge. The wait time for our food wasn't very long but we did beat the crowd (by 11:30 on a Wednesday, the place was packed). Parking is plentiful and the prices are reasonable - my sandwich came with the fries and a drink for just over $13. There was enough food left for my husband's dinner. I visited for lunch on 2/23/26. First impressions... the place was clean, but the music was way too loud. As I walked up, the young man behind the counter had to put down his phone to take my order. He was very polite, but I could barely hear him because of the music. I placed my order and sat down to wait. That's when I really listened to the music because the volume made it feel like it was being forced on me. The rap / hip hop coming over the speakers was what some would consider vulgar. Curse words galore (n-word, f-word, b-word, all the words) and singing / talking about graphic sex and violence. Maybe I was the only one that noticed or cared, but it was absolutely not what I wanted to hear on my lunch break. I'm not sure if they advertise themselves as a family restaurant, but it is definitely not that if this is a daily thing. They called my number and I picked up my food and ate in my car. Unfortunately the chicken tenders did not make up for the dining room experience. They were very thin, nothing was special about the flavor, and the chicken was so over cooked I had to tear off chunks because I could not bite through. Super fibrous and chewy. Evans the thicker parts were hard to get through. The fries were ok. Nothing to write home about. Pretty much an underwhelming meal. I do not like writing bad reviews. Usually I am a three strikes and you're out type of person. However, I do believe this will be my one and only stop at this particular store. I have ordered from this location a few times, and each time the fries and fish were freshly made. I made the mistake of thinking both locations would serve the same quality of food, so I went to the closer location today. The food was terrible, and I was totally disappointed. Never eaten at one of these restaurants before so I thought I would drive thru & try the fish sandwich at your 2199 University Drive in Huntsville. This was Thu nite, Sept 26, 2024 around 830-845. The girl working the drive-thru has NO clue! I asked if the lettuce was shredded or a single piece of lettuce - her response "I don't know" to which I responded "You don't know what kind of lettuce the restaurant you work at serves?" to which she responded "I don't work in the kitchen." - DUH! Typical response of the younger generation these days... so I told her that was too bad that I wouldn't give them my business and I drove off. I went to the other location down at Westside Centre and hands down 1000 times better! The staff was super nice and accommodating and had no issues answering any questions I had. The only sad part was they were out of cod so I had to get tilapia - it was still good! I will never ever go to the one at 2199 University again... Food was ok, not great, and the servings are a decent size. I ate with my work team and dropped over 80.00 on the lunch. I was taken back on how rude the guy taking our order was. After waiting a good while for our food, I noticed I didn't get the bbq sauce I had asked for. I went back to the counter and asked for some bbq sauce for my chicken. I was told that it would be an extra 1.78 cents to get bbq sauce. To make it more annoying a guy came to the front having ate more than half of their wings and complained they were salty. They gave him a free 12 pack of wing's immediately. I then asked if he was really charging me for the sauce. He sarcastically said yes and asked for the money. They didn't engage at all so the customer service was subpar. I got my food within a decent timeframe, but was disappointed. The wings were so hard and over cooked. I went there had a Philly cheesesteak on Saturday and really liked it. The two dreadlocked gentlemen working there were polite and gave me good service. Went there yesterday and ordered a chicken Philly cheesesteak. Was also really good, but I had an issue with customer service. I paid the online ordering fee because I was tired and wanted it ready when I got there. I went through the drive thru to get it because I was tired, I had to be at work at 6:00 am that day. So when I get to the drive thru window to get my already prepared order a different guy with a close shaved beard was working and proceeded to lecture me about how I need to come in for online orders, it holds up the drive thru when busy. His condescending attitude rubbed me the srong way because: 1. I was the only person in the drive thru lane, nobody was being delayed 2. The food was made and bagged, so he just had to spend 15 seconds to hand it to me. His lecture made no sense, he was in a bad mood and decided to take it out on me. 3. I am a customer, was polite, and this is a new business trying to establish a customer following; so having employees lecture customers over something this asinine is not a way to make a good first impression. To the point I am weighing whether my liking of their cheesesteak is enough to return with more business is enough to put up with this employee's attitude. I worked in commercial food service as a cook for 16 years, I am not asking for anything unreasonable. I just wanted to get my online order through the drive thru. The lobby was busy and there was nobody in the drive thru.. Sounds like this guy has rubbed other customers the wrong way from reading the other reviews, maybe the owner should talk to him.
