Thursday at dinner time and there were two tables taken. A sign? Ok, our bad, we ordered grilled chicken at a place that even has burgers in their name. We were served a giant grilled chicken sandwich. It looked delish. That was our bad too. The chicken looked like it had seasoning on it, maybe it was just crud from the grill, but this was definitely an unseasoned piece of chicken. We both ordered grilled mushrooms and onions. Those didn't even help the flavor. We moved on to honey mustard, trying to save the sandwich. Unfortunately, the sauce did nothing but make the bun fall apart. We now had a flavorless mess to deal with - eat it or trash it. My husband chose "eat it" because he hates to see food wasted. He complained with almost every bite. I chose "trash it" - I'm too old to eat things I don't like. There were numerous sides available - fries, tots, o-rings, cheese curds and fried pickles. We opted for the rings to share. For just over $4, we received 6 onion rings. They weren't anything special at all - just a rip-off. My husband and I have gotten into the habit of rating every meal - luckily he's generous with the stars when I'm cooking! We had waffled a little but decided on a three. That's until we went to the restroom to wash our hands. The woman's room obviously hadn't had a good, deep cleaning in quite some time. It's beyond the point of a couple paper towels and a bottle of windex. My husband said the men's room wasn't the best either. That three stars suddenly became a hard 2. I don't usually leave reviews, but I felt this needed to be shared. I picked up four burgers from Wayback Burger for myself, two friends, and my friend's dad. Unfortunately, all four of us got sick shortly after eating them. We all had different types of burgers, and none of us had eaten anything else that day that could've caused it. This was extremely disappointing and honestly concerning from a food safety standpoint. I haven't gotten sick from a food place since I was a child. I'm hoping this was a one off situation, but it definitely made us think twice about ever eating here again. I saw this place in a little strip mall near the hotel. Later that night I ordered through Grubhub so I never went inside. The delivery was a little slow and may have had some effect on the meal. The chocolate milkshake was vanilla with chocolate syrup. Very good but no so thick. Again, I blame Grubhub more than the restaurant. The burger was good. The toppings were fresh. They advertise a Western burger but I went with the more traditional. Fries did not come with the burger so instead I tried the chicken tenders. Again they were good but basically consisted of fried chicken parts soaked in medium wing sauce. Again, I wish it had arrived a little sooner and warmer. In all this is a decent local burger place. We tried Wayback for the first time for a carryout lunch over the weekend. It wasn't awful, but I really wish we'd had a better experience. We placed our order online and indicated we wanted curbside pickup. This was relatively easy to do, no complaints there. I thought the price was reasonable for what we ordered -- a double cheeseburger, a single burger, two fries, and a small shake to share. I called when I arrived at the restaurant on time and I was told they'd bring my food out to me. After waiting for more than 10 minutes and watching two separate individuals pull up in their cars, walk in, get their orders, and leave, I just got out and headed for the door to pickup from inside. It so happened that one of the employees was walking out with my meal, so I intercepted her and she gave it to me. This employee was the highlight of the experience for sure -- very friendly, super apologetic about the wait time, just a sweet lady. Because of her, I don't hold the wait against them, really. Unfortunately, the food also was really not up to par. We got the Oreo mud pie shake. The consistency wasn't bad, but the taste was quite weird. Super saccharine, with a heavy chocolate syrup / fake sugar flavor. I don't know what went wrong, but it wasn't good -- we didn't even get close to finishing it. The fries were also super mediocre. Cold, under salted, not crispy (yet somehow not soggy either), definitely had a frozen feel/consistency. The ranch I ordered to dip them in had a sour, salad dressing-ish flavor. I was hoping for housemade/buttermilk, but this wasn't it. The best thing was probably the burger. A medium to thin thickness patty, cooked appropriately I would say but perhaps a little dried out. The bacon I had on mine was super thin sliced, almost like microwave bacon, but it had a decent crisp and flavor so I didn't mind it too much. Bun a little on the large/hard side but it at least stood up well to the drive home. Not a super flavorful burger, but about on par with a fast food burger. That would be more okay if I was paying fast food prices for it. Instead, I'd say Wayback is comparable to / competing with a place like Five Guys. Wayback price is slightly better, but the food isn't even close -- Five Guys blows them out of the water. I'd rather pay a little extra, personally. I never want to totally dissuade people from trying a place that I just happened to have a subpar experience with, so I'd still encourage you to try and make your own judgment. read more

Three of us stopped in to try the new Wayback Burgers. I ordered the Wayback Classic (2 patties) with Pepperjack cheese. Also I got the Chili Cheese fries and a chocolate Mud Pie shake. The best thing about the burger was the pepper jack cheese, it had a little heat to it. The hamburger had no seasoning and lacked flavor. The chili cheese fires were ok. The shake was pretty good. My wife got the Fried Mac & Cheese and all three us tried them and said there were not good. So my opinion, along with my two guests, is Wayback Burgers is nothing special and a little pricey ($25.11 for two people). Farm Burger is far better than Wayback. So I am glad I tried them, but I won't return. The one interesting item is they have a triple triple which is 9 patties. It would interesting to watch someone try to handle a 9 patty burger. read more

I was pleasantly surprised at how good my grilled chicken sandwich burger was. I asked for double lettuce and double tomato and got it. The lettuce was Romain green and crispy and the tomatoes were nice and red. the chicken breast was moist and tender and tasty. I woulda rather ate a one eyed cat in a secluded alleyway that hasn't been cooked fully than this piece of beef. By the time I chased that cat to catch it, my burger still wouldn't have been done. I ordered buffalo fingers to go. They put half a liter of sauce in container. When I pulled them out of the bag sauce went everywhere including all over me. It was a disgusting mess. When I went inside to tell an employee she blatantly ignored me and said "yeah whatever". I went back in to tell the manager. He was some kid barely over 20. Basically he couldn't help me. He was sorry but that was it. The biggest problem I have is the complete disrespect and obvious disregard the girl had for me and the job. She's the one who packed the fingers. I hadn't been to this Wayback for awhile, but tonight I had a craving for one of their delicious burgers, and I wasn't disappointed! Working the late shift tonight, I checked one of the food delivery services only to find it was estimated for more than an hour delivery. I was hungry NOW - let alone what I'd be in an hour so I opted to make a quick run and pick it up. Included my order was a horseradish butter double burger, an order of fries and a co-workers shake. I ordered it online with a 'ready in 15 minutes' tag. I left my office at 7:10 - got to Wayback at 7:14 - waited for the person in line in front of me to pay, and was handed my order. In and out the door in less than 3 minutes! I made it back to my office at 7:22 for a round trip time of 12 minutes! My husband and I ate here a couple of weeks ago and loved it. He isn't a burger fan so he got the fish sandwich and bacon cheese fries while I ordered a build your own burger. We both really liked our meals and definitely plan on going back. This is a place where I will go back over and over until I try all of the things I want to try and for non burger people, they have more than just one option as well. The first time there I had the Cheese Steak sandwich which had a great taste. The second time I had a bacon cheeseburger and I have to agree with Bill, the burger really bland and had no flavor.
