The workers do NOT communicate with each other regarding orders, workers are high or on their phones most of the time, the inside restaurant is not clean just wiped down/has an odder to it, NEVER have bone-in chicken cooked, if it is, it's cold/luke warm and dry (at best). My hubby and I have given this place many chances, that I now REGRET!!!! (One would think waiting about 1 yr to return would help or things would change). If you order in the drive-thru, better bring a blanket and lunch from someplace else! 20 min minimum wait for bone-in ckn. Rolls are good 1/2 the time, have to wait for okara most of the time (which is ok I spoz, I like fresh okra). Ordered food through the drive thru, it was one tender combo. Sat in the drive thru at the window for 20 minutes with no updates, flagged down both workers, and when finally asked why it was taking so long, they said "they are throwing the tenders in now". We were visiting close to closing time. We ordered an 8 piece family meal with macaroni and cheese. The service was good. The food was ok. The chicken was very crispy and we could tell it was not freshly cooked. It was ok for a quick meal but will not be a first choice in the future. read more

Oh my, what a mess, waiting 12 minute to be greeted inside to place an order with the air conditioner dripping water on my head. The young lady just appears and says little. I give her my order and neither of the registers can she operate after 3 attempts I offer cash, I handed over a $20 bill for a $17.85 ticket and she proceeded to get out her cell phone to figure out the change. I stood at the window another 15 minute and watched a young cook in super slow motion cook my 7 PCs of chicken. That's right just shy of 30 minute to order the 7 pc express inside. When I spoke to the young lady telling her this is unacceptable and I wanted the franchise owners contact info, she said " I'm not the one that took your order" and then slammed the drive thru window closed and walked off. Oh and btw the food I ordered at another location got cold waiting for the children to make my wife's food while they were on their phones. Just had a great lunch. Chicken was perfectly crispy & roll was fresh. Service wasn't bubbly & warm but was certainly efficient.

Recently went and had a pretty large order, our food was hot, packed well, and included utensils and napkins. Everything was in the bag, even the sauces, and the order was completely correct. The guy even stated "I placed your sauce in the bottom box!" When handing us our bag (without us asking) I was pretty impressed at how well our stuff was packed and order was correct! My 5-star experience 05/06/2024 5:30 pm I ordered a 12-piece liver, 2 thighs, and okra. After 20 minutes of waiting, my wife asked at the counter about our food. She noticed the chicken and okra were sitting on the plate behind the counter. Once she asked the cashier how much longer the livers would take, judging by the staff's reaction, it seems they realized they had forgotten about the order.  A couple minutes later, they handed us the tray. I noticed the okra and chicken were warm, and I was served half livers and gizzards. I took our order back and asked for a refund.  A young lady, I am assuming, was a shift lead. She looked like she could careless and was unprofessional in her demeanor. I won't mention her name because it really isn't her fault; obviously, she hasn't been taught any better.  I should mention that we were the only customers in the dining room. As we were waiting, we noticed the kids in the kitchen were carrying on laughing and being obnoxious and unprofessional.  Shame on the franchise owners for not training their staff. read more

We stopped by this chicken express on the way home. We don't live in Aubrey and we have our own CE but stopped just to make the ride shorter. It was not the greatest. We got an 25 piece tender meal. The tenders were good. Cooked just right. Then we got a 8 meal chicken meal that was burned. It was so hard we couldn't bite through the skin and the meat inside was tough. Such a horrible taste we couldn't eat it. Then the unsweet tea had a sour taste to it. I bought a gallon of both sweet and unsweetened. And the unsweet was not good. The sides were all tasty. I've been very hesitant to write a bad review at this time when we are just trying to stay safe. My wife and kids said we should get takeout from a local catfish place in Aubrey Tx and unfortunately they were closed due to the covid 19. We had our hearts and stomachs set on catfish and I remembered I had gotten really good catfish from chicken express but not this specific location. I hate to say it but the takeout was not even edible the breading had completely fallen off the fish and this fish it's self was hard as a rock. The family side of green beans had the a huge bean stock (haha). We paid somewhere along the line of 40 dollars for the meal. I called the location that's maybe 15 mins from me and explained the situation and they requested that I drive the food back to the restaurant so they could see it. The assistant manger said they have to see the food itself before they can do anything. I explained that I didn't have time to drive all the way back to the store and the assistant manger told me to just hang on to the food and bring it back in when we could. She even went as far as saying they had a customer that waited for three days to bring back the food?!? Wait what?! I told the location I would like to speak to the owner of the store and she again stated he has never physically been to this location?!?! Wait what ?!? How do own a restaurant and never step foot in the door. At this point it's a loss for me but hopefully you will read this before going to this location. read more

Ladies & Gentlemen, The building may have been remodeled but food is horrible!!!! My order 2 wings with roll! UNDERCOOKED and EXTREMELY salty ! Tbh a stray starving dog wouldn't touch them!!! Husband ordered 2 piece fillet combo with fried pickles ,corn nuggets and sweet tea. Fried pickles were hard, black, and looked like they had been under warming lights for 3 days! The only thing " halfway decent" but noticeably smaller was" Toddler size" fish fillets! Lastly, we spent 20 bucks and waited in line 20 minutes for lukewarm, extremely salty undercooked wings, burnt fried pickles and toddler sized fish fillets! The food is decent, but over-priced. It seems like it's not fresh. My order was wrong, so I went through the drive-thru for a second time, and just simply asked nicely for the correct order. My roll also smelled like dirty gym socks or something, so I asked for a new one. The bald-headed man (who I believe is the manager) was very disrespectful. He was rude to me and my sister. Everyone has their own fav chicken place. When done right... you cannot beat the crispy skin on their chicken pieces. Sides offered are decent, but prices have gone up too much for fast food chicken. Did some remodeling lately, but mostly a drive through, so don't see the improvements.?? Should spend $$ on better portion size and consistent quality. She did not see them drop the okra back in, however, visually inspecting them and the burnt look of the breading it was clear they were too fried twice. The chicken was cold and not juicy.... We usually have to go orders, the food is fairly good for a fast food place. It has its ups and downs. The staff is always forgetting or over charging for food that we didn't get. Yesterday, (7/25/19) we picked up a large to go order ate the meal and put the extra leftovers in the fridge. I pulled out some chicken for lunch the next day, this is what I found. If you look closely, you can see this metal fried in the chicken. My hubs went back to the store to show the manager, he acted like it was no big deal and all he said was "they have been frying for over 10 hours that day so why hasn't anyone else complained about having Brillo pad pieces in their dinner?" I live close to Chicken Express so I will order there when I don't want to drive further sometimes. I ordered chicken gizzard combo with mashed potatoes and a roll. The potatoes were missing and the gizzards were so salty I was getting sick and threw away half of them. When I called back the next day I was told they didn't salt the chicken and the coating was just flour which I know is not true. Their delivery orders are the worst! If you get the order chances are it will be wrong or look like it came from the garbage can. But their favorite thing is to leave you hanging. They take the order telling you delivery will be an hour when you are 10 minutes away. Then they call and say they are closing early because they are out of food. The WORST FOOD I have had in a Lonnnnng time and the WORST PERSONNEL! I went to this dive today and ordered 4 catfish fillets! It was supposed to come with hush puppies but didn't and came with 2 rolls! I paid $14.80 for UNSEASONED fillets, 2 rolls, and no bag! The food was handed to me out the window with NOTHING, and I had to ask for napkins! I waited a little over 15 minutes for this garbage! Once I left and had a bite of the cardboard tasting fish, I called the store back and asked to speak to the manager. His name was Terrand and he could of been lying about that too! I told him "the fish had NO Seasoning and he said you have to ask for extras." He told me "they just drop the fish is cornmeal and that's it!" How in the world is this place still on the planet?
