It would be nice to be able to read community news articles without paying. Your not really a community partner or an asset to the community if you don't report the news for free. Why can't they deliver a paper? It's a job so easy literal children on bikes did it for decades. This is my secound time trying to subscribe to the paper, I have been getting it for three weeks. They are not putting it in my yard they are tossing it into the sidewalk in front of my house where it is being trampled. My neighbors dog took one. Then today they must not have read their own weather section because they didn't bother to bag it. So by 7:30 when I went to get it from the street where they left it it was soaked. My first attempt at getting it wS a few years ago and they had a lot of the same issues. I would have assumed they would have gotten their crap together in that time but it was the same old stuff. read more

MAJOR delivery problems. Either I don't get the paper, or I only get one of them, or they're really late. I happened to run into the delivery person at the convenience store one day (around 9 am to GET the paper because it didn't come that day), and aside from the issue of her being at a convenience store when she was supposed to be working, she showed me the paper that lists what newspapers the customers are supposed to get. Mine had only one paper. Despite MULTIPLE calls to BOTH newspapers EVERY week for weeks. It just seems like their organization is a mess. There is no rhyme or reason -- it's just chaotic. read more

I have an elderly uncle who loves the newspaper, but with a very small Diamond Match retirement as social security, they had to give it up. We had been getting the paper for 17 years, but had to cancel the paper due to major problems with delivery over the last year. We tried so hard to get this corrected with over 25 calls on getting papers when on vacation (multiple papers in driveway on our return), then NOT getting papers when it was scheduled to restart! Always got the same answer "So sorry for your problem. I will give this to the Delivery Mgr to get resolved". It took 3 more calls AFTER we cancelled the paper to get it stopped (At least for now!). I need to call again since we still got the free weekly AD paper that we have also told them over and over we do not want it. Papers left in driveways are a clear indicatior to thieves that the home is not occupied. read more

Receptionist here should be fired. I was told she was having a bad day and she continued with the attitude. I know you hate your job because the system is so old and you can't get any work done but maybe that's something you should take up with the people who take care of that issue. I took a subscription to help a student, though I have not read a hands-on newspaper in years, getting my news from several online newspapers ... besides the paper being "less than informative" when I could read it, many times in just the first two weeks the paper was soaked, rendering it completely unreadable ... when I delivered papers way back when, we would throw it on the driveway, not on the lawn for sprinklers to soak it, or wrap it in a plastic bag on days when it was raining or when rain was eminent or predicted ... needless to say, I will let my "trial" subscription expire "automatically" as I was told it would ... I would like to support local businesses, but if this is the outcome I will not recommend this newspaper to anyone ... read more

If you ever consider being a carrier for them dont! They are heartless and do not give 2 sh##s about their carriers. You can have a family member dying and then pass away and still get charged and then fired because of complaints because the paper was late. After years of working for them I mean years. They pay worse than any other newspaper and again heartless with no respect at all for the carriers. Do not work for them. And those that get the paper delivered understand how horrible they are treated to get that paper to you. Working 7 days a week with no respect at all from this company no help during a family mourning right now either. Just a good bye too many complaints this month. Heartless company/people. I hope you don't lose someone right now and then lose your job too. Remember if you choose to take on a job with them. You have no rights they can do whatever they please because it's a self employed postion but they can still dictate and fire but they have no obligations to you in any way shape or form. Can not get paper delivered on a consistent basis, get a bill 3 months before its due, they try to sneak in special inserts and charge you $3 extra ( they reduce your subscription length), you call about not getting a paper, they say they will bring it out, they don't, and no one cares. Many people criticize the E-R for various reasons, but we are lucky to have a local paper that covers local news and events. It's economically tough to put out a daily paper these days, but we are one of the few North Valley communities that have one. From breaking news to local events such as music and drama and feature stories, the E-R covers it. If you're into sports, the paper does an excellent job, especially with local college and high school teams. I'm happy to read the Chico Enterprise-Record every day. read more

The Thursday /Thanksgiving paper is a joke! They charged 3.00 for the paper and it was empty of the major sale ads. There were no Michaels JCPenny, Toys R Us, Walmart, Kmart,....... and MORE. I live in Butte Valley, drove to Raleys to get the paper. What a rip off. read more

The paper format is very poor. The print is hard to read. The print and pictures are pale. I stopped my subscription because of the poor delivery service. I would get the paper less than 50% of the time. Very annoying. read more
