I spent $200 here, found some cute things. They have great stuff and a cute "husband waiting area"…read more The two stars is the service. We travel all over the country...in small resort towns/communities like this you get one of two experiences 1) they make you feel welcome, like you live there...and it makes you want to live there! Or 2) You are a tourist and we can't be bothered. Two of the employees, a tall older lady...and a younger gal stood in the middle of the clothing section complaining about how crowded the store was, and how they couldn't wait for the sale to be over. Ummmm what? There were four of us shoppers (didn't know one another) all looking at one another like "They can see us right?" Another gal had questions about some art on the wall, and she could not get anyone to help her. I had 10 items to try on, you can only take 5 in...so while I was trying on the first 5, the sales woman kept apologizing to those waiting saying "she has a lot of stuff, so sorry" Sooo I didn't try on the other five. Bought three of the first 5 and felt very rushed. Bottom line I think the locals and their family/friends keep them busy enough, so no need to worry about the tourists. That's the vibe. The sales team needs to be a little more aware that we are in the store for an experience, not because we have nowhere else to shop.

I am Adina Caroline Wilson. I am a guest who visits Omni properties often. After checking out on…read moreSunday the 16th, we decided to have breakfast and peruse The Shops at the Omni. While waiting for Chico's to open, I entered the Salty Threads. There were two women who greeted me kindly when I entered. One was younger, one was older. I looked around, there were a few pieces that caught my eye, they were all 100% polyester. Polyester irritates my skin. Deciding there was nothing I wanted in the store, we ready to leave. During this time the older woman comes over and asked how things were. I told her there are some cute pieces in the store, but nothing that I loved enough to buy. She said yeah it is a very expensive store. I smiled and agreed that sure it was. Keep in mind I did not see anything over $500 in this store. While it is a nice boutique, we're not talking about a high end luxurious store. If we were I am sure the service would have been much better. She said yeah. you just really have to love it for some people to spend the money. I just kind of smiled because, what am I supposed to respond to that with? She iterates that it is a really expensive store for some people. I said what do you mean? She said well I think you know what I mean. I said nothing else and began to leave. As we are leaving, she points to the shopping bag we had from The Bottle liquor store, and said yeah there are some really affordable options over there. I had just purchased a locally bottled liquor as collecting local spirits from different trips is something I enjoy. I stepped out and called the Omni and asked to be transferred to someone to file a complaint about the store. I was put on a transfer line, no one picked up. I arrived in person to the select member desk to file a formal complaint against this woman. I admit that because I did not catch her name, I referred to her at the pretentious old b**ch who was currently working at the Salty Threads, and I stand by that. While speaking with Mrs. Charity, she placed me on the phone with this woman. Her apology was winded but essentially she told me, I'm sorry you took it that way. I told her that while I appreciate the apology, I do not appreciate the tone of "I took it that way" because what she said was clear. Then, I told her that attitude is pretentious and outdated and she needed to be considerate of the people she is serving. Mrs. Charity was very empathetic and kind. She was helpful and made me feel heard. The woman working in the Salty Threads has no business dealing with the public. She forgets her place is to help the people who enter the store, not to pass her own unwarranted judgment on their monetary value. I promise if she was so casually rude to me, she has done this many times to different people. You're hearing this because I am not afraid to be vocal about what is unacceptable. I'll tell you as someone who loves shopping and considers that apart of the experience, I will never touch a piece of clothing from an Omni property again. This was a sour end to a trip spent enjoying the amenities and visiting family who has residence on the property. Shout out to Samara the waitress for being fantastic at what she does. The woman in Salty Threads could learn something. One look at the reviews shows this store has a history of this. Is the manager encouraging this horrid behavior?? I'm appalled that the Omni, a brand that prides itself on the exceptional care and service it provides to its guests, would not only allow this type of behavior to be associated with its name, but permit one of its most loyal guests to be treated in such a manner. It is disgraceful.

No other customers inside & the man working didn't say ONE word to us. Just followed us around to make sure we weren't stealing I guess? Idk if it was bc of our age/race, but this guy was the opposite of friendly. It was extremely awkward! Even though the prices are high, we found something we really loved & wanted to purchase, but because of how we were treated we left.
