The new & improved section was not finished, yet. Play area was closed. No horseshoe pits. The park is nice and has lots of green space to enjoy. Easy access to the river too. **BUT there is constant, LOUD noise from the hi-way, (think jake-breaks etc.) when you're trying to sleep. My husband thought our site would better than the last time we were here - yet it was so much worse. We had ZERO shade and tons of hi-way and frontage road noise. I couldn't wait to get home to get some sleep. Christy, the park manager is a kind, professional woman, who makes sure fellow campers are following the rules. We would never stay in this particular spot and would advise anyone against it. Perhaps when the new section is actually finished - we will return. See (hear) video.

There is a small playground area, a pavilion for small groups, picnic facilities, parking spaces for RV overnight parking and river access for fishing or relaxing. It's mostly for locals or people stopping at the casino but it is a nice area to bring a picnic and relax.

this was a disappointing stop after a wonderful 6 day roadtrip along the Organ coast…read more placed our reservation thinking we paid for a lovely riverside camp site. come to find out upon arrival the site was a gravel unmarked drive way with the very loud sound of the freeway. not sure of our site we drove back up to the office of course, knowone there (office hours 10 to 3pm) called office manager Amanda and recieved a very unwelcoming response to our question and verification of camp site. drove back to site , hooked up sat down, got back up unhooked and spate gravel out of there...so worth leaving our $64.50 behind.

Galesville Reservoir is a beautiful water storage area near Azalea, Oregon. It is part of the Upper…read moreCow Creek Watershed and the reservoir is 640 acres. The dam produces electricity by hydropower for the area. The first turnoff is to the campground and the second to the Day Use area and boat ramps. The day use has parking, a playground, picnic area, and pavilion. The park host is near the day use area, as well as The Chief Miwaleta Campground provides cabins for rental, a tent camping and 20 full hookups and 11 non-hookups and 1 group site for RVs. There are two boat ramps (one with two lanes and one primitive ramp) with parking for the reservoir and is a popular area for fishing. Though, the reservoir has a higher-than-allowed level of mercury as described by the Clean Water Act. The cause may be several historic mining claims above the reservoir exist, such as the Red Cloud Mine, which was established to extract mercury from veins of cinnabar. There is information on and recommendations for eating fish on the Oregon.gov website. I do recommend going to the Galesville Reservoir, either for camping or just using the day use area. It's a beautiful place to spend the day or longer.

The park checks out new residents very well making me feel comfortable living here. The amenities are some basic like rest rooms/showers, laundry and, also, a community garden, fire pit and little lending library. The facilities (restrooms, laundry) are older and needing some updates but we seldom use them so not as much of a problem for us. The site rate is good. We have been lucky to have moved from the pull-thrus to the back area where we back up to an orchard which is beautiful and very quiet. There are deer in the orchard in mornings and night which is wonderful. It's just a beautiful peaceful location. The RV park is close to the Umpqua Wildlife Safari Park which is very close and a fun thing to do while in the area. We are enjoying living here very much. It's beautiful and the workers are excellent. The ones I have worked with (manager Kimberly, Tanya and Tara) have been professional, efficient and really hard workers. They keep the grounds kept up very well. The facilities are a 3 but the price and staff bring it to a 4 overall.

Oregon Fish Reports says Ben Irving Reservoir has Rainbow Trout, Largemouth Bass, Black Crappie, Bluegill, White Crappie. It is said they also have bluegill and yellow perch. I'm not sure they stock trout since the water gets so low. There are two day use sites. The first is a picnic area with restrooms, picnic tables, swimming and volleyball. The second is the largest, which is at the end of the road in, with a restrooms, boat ramp, dock, picnic tables, grills for and rest rooms. The reservoir is beautiful and peaceful place to go. It's scary how fast the water goes down once the rains stop. It's a reservoir where water from the area is held for irrigation and municipal uses and to enhance stream conditions to support fish in the streams. Everyone needs to do better to keep this reservoir from getting so low by saving

Deer and wild turkeys roam freely while ospreys fly overhead. The Rookery is conveniently located to wineries, ziplining, Crater Lake, Rogue Creamery, and so much more. Mary (owner) is entirely accommodating and knowledgeable. She has lots of great tips for local sightseeing and general travel. The cabins are newly renovated inside and are stylishly decorated. There are 2 one room cabins available with kitchenettes. One of them has 2 additional sleeper beds in the living area for extra sleeping options. I would highly recommend staying here!
