Ben Irving Reservoir is located 15 miles west of Winston near the small town of Tenmile. The reservoir is 250 acres when full and is a popular recreation destination.
Oregon Fish Reports says Ben Irving Reservoir has Rainbow Trout, Largemouth Bass, Black Crappie, Bluegill, White Crappie. It is said they also have bluegill and yellow perch. I'm not sure they stock trout since the water gets so low.
There are two day use sites. The first is a picnic area with restrooms, picnic tables, swimming and volleyball. The second is the largest, which is at the end of the road in, with a restrooms, boat ramp, dock, picnic tables, grills for and rest rooms.
The reservoir is beautiful and peaceful place to go. It's scary how fast the water goes down once the rains stop. It's a reservoir where water from the area is held for irrigation and municipal uses and to enhance stream conditions to support fish in the streams.
