I toured a couple schools, but the moment we left our tour at AAK I looked at my husband and said "pretty sure this is it. It just FEELS good and like a family vibe". The director Robin knew EVERY single kids name when we toured, their siblings names, etc (was not the same at other places so this spoke volumes to me) just actually involved and proud to show off her space and her staff. I am beyond grateful for Liz, the main infant room teacher. She took such good care of our little guy and he grew so attached which made me feel so good about our choice. she's so sweet and we always chat it up at drop off etc (when she has a minute of course... babies keep her busy!) she's the only person who gets him to eat his vegetables lol now he's moving into the next toddler room and he's still happy as can be and thriving. He really seems to enjoy his days there. I had reservations about daycare in general, but honestly they are a life saver and just an extension of our family/community who helps care for our little man. And in about 6 months my youngest will join too - so that says a lot about this place. My kids have always been happy to go in in the morning (with the occasional separation anxiety with my youngest, but the staff handles it very well and she has always been happy to see her teachers) and happy when they come back home. My two older kids that are now in public schools will still ask to go for the day any chance they can get. Literally , this Monday they are all going because schools are closed for thanks giving and the preschool is open. Which is another great thing. The kids have educational learning, indoor and outdoor playtime, sensory play, dress up, arts & crafts and in general, interesting diverse schedules; as a parent, you will get a monthly calendar of what is done each day with highlights of the month. The staff is very kind and the owners are such nice people. You can tell that they really care about the kids' wants and needs. I love that they're always open for suggestions, or if you want to do things in a specific way, they will always accommodate to the best of their ability. I have been part of the preschool for the past three years so this review is long overdue. I have been very pleased and I know these days it's hard to find good preschools. They are all so loving and caring, and the director, Sunaitra, runs the school wonderfully. I am constantly impressed by the Montessori approach and how much my son is learning. Almost every day when I pick him up, he surprises me with a new word or a new expression he picked up in class. It's been incredible to watch his development. I also love the cultural events they organize; my son has even performed in them, and I was so impressed by how well-organized everything was. We feel so lucky to have this school so close to our house. We love it so much that I am already looking forward to sending my daughter there in a couple of months!
