My daughter is 2 years old that has stranger anxiety issues before. And she don't speak a lot of words. She always cries a lot whenever she gets frustrated. When she had sessions with Meghan, she is really interacting well and she loves playing with her. I am amazed on how they make learning fun with my kid. And in every session she is sooo excited to see Meghan. She loves learning new things and she is speaking new words. I am very happy of my baby girl's progress. She loves Meghan because she always have this big smile whenever she sees her. Meghan is one of the sweet and best teacher / speech therapist they have and their substitute speech therapist Michael is also the best. When Meghan is on maternity leave, Michael is now my toddler's speech therapist. I am amazed on the care and patience they gave to my little girl. During one of my son's scheduled sessions, his actual LICENSED therapist did not show up. No one on…read morestaff seemed to know where she was or whether she was even on the property. Instead, my son was seen for the entire session by an UNLICENSED trainee who is still in school. No one asked me if I was ok with this happening. In addition, we were billed for the appointment as if he had received care from a licensed therapist. The following week, the same therapist again failed to show up for her shift. Rather than offering any solution or attempting to reschedule, I simply received a text message stating that our appointment was canceled because no one was available to replace her. There was no phone call, no apology, and no attempt to accommodate another time. Beyond this, the sessions themselves were only 30 minutes and mostly consisted of basic play activities in the back room. Allowing my child to be seen for an entire session by someone who is not licensed and still in training unsupervised, while billing us for a full therapy appointment, is beyond unprofessional and borderline illegal.

Children of special needs have particular habits and objects they obsess over. HELLO?! The therapist would select things he wasn't interested in...so he would play with the cabinets and window curtains in the office instead. I wanted to make this work....I even gave some advice on toys he would love but the therapist stated " we're not there yet" she finally gave the desired toy last 5 minutes of the 30 minutes session and my son was finally enjoying and engaging with the play. Therapist says "Wow we should have started with that toy to begin with!" In my head I'm like "Duuuuh" If you pick the right toys for certain kids with certain favors then my child would engaged -- and therefore would participate in play = to talk! We had 1 substitute therapist twice and she was amazing... lots of energy and encouraging play and prying out words from my boy with all the RIGHT toys! He had so much fun with Paige! Unfortunately if your schedule doesn't fit, you don't get that therapist. We gave this place 3 months....fr Sept to Dec. With no improvements. A single 30 min play cost about $100ish a session! Your therapist better be working.... our therapist was lazy and barely spoke with my son...mainly with me. Why? *yawn* So boring and so awkward! Everyone was bored and wanted the 30 mins to be over!! LOL We were constantly staring at our watches and staring at each other, Or listening to the sounds outside the door. Come on ..these sessions aren't cheap, and it's just 30 mins...you'd expect they work it right? Mrs. Rachel on YouTube does a better job. And the receptionist Karla has a terrible attitude every time. She has a snotty tone like she's being bothered when you call or come up to the window to talk. NorthStar Wowed us with the little things which are BIG to ASD families "literally made us feel like we matter" Northstar took the time to go over Bear's situation and remembered it ! Dr. Katherine listened to bears needs, she knew his likes. An iPad was already set up with his favorite reinforcers when we arrived...I couldn't have been more impressed!!! Northstar is going to empower a lot of children and families in a very positive way. As I mentioned for 10 years, I've tried several Speech companies over a dozen Slp's spent hours on researching the current options not knowing which was right for Bear such as pecs, more than words, and several AAC device apps for my little nonverbal guy. Mind blown !!!! because in one hour Slp, Maddie at NorthStar gave me enough information about my sons learning style (which happens to be Gasalt) something I had never heard of it until that day, plus several new tips on how to communicate with him and to get him to communicate with me. Since that appointment I discovered that my sons learning type wasn't new it's actually been around since the 80s but that a lot of Slp's haven't heard of it or don't know enough about it which is unfortunate, because it tends to be according to research the main modality of learning for learners on the autism spectrum. Who knew? Oh Northstar!!! In August 2025, he stopped receiving OT services as MeBe lost 3 OT providers at the same time. He was placed on waitlist until MeBe hires a new provider. Three months later he was discharged from OT services without opportunity to discuss this decision. If you want your child to received continues services, MeBe is not the right place for it.

One of the most concerning issues is the lack of communication and transparency. Employees often receive no notice when clients cancel sessions, resulting in wasted trips and unpaid time. In such cases, you're either told to clean the facility (an unreasonable expectation outside the role of a Behavior Technician) or you're abruptly reassigned to cover another BT's session without context or consent. The pay is among the lowest in the ABA field, especially when weighed against the emotional and physical demands of the job. The work environment is poorly maintained, with cleanliness being a recurring problem. The facility does NOT look like those posted online. The children's bathrooms and common areas are often unsanitary, raising valid concerns about hygiene, safety, and the general quality of care. A particularly troubling practice is the use of personal items like wipes brought in for one child that get used on other children, without the caregiver's knowledge. Additionally, BTs are often left in the dark about health-related issues like lice until after the situation is already "handled," which puts both staff and other clients at risk. Unsurprisingly, the company suffers from a very high turnover rate, which reflects the broader issues within the organization and further destabilizes the workplace. Overall, they show little regard for employee well-being, professional development, or proper client care. Even by looking at the reviews the only 5 star reviews are for speech therapists, not from the work being done!

Dr. Wu is the main reason that my family members and I continue to stay at UCSD Health for our care. She is super intelligent, kind, and an extraordinary physician. She is even bilingual (Chinese). Personally, she has been keeping my family and I healthy and alive for about 20 years now. I have other family members who have been with her much longer (30 years!). She is in such demand that she has a full patient load. Still, she manages to respond to all of her patients and care for them all right away. Dr. Wu is also a genius and figures out most health issues upon hearing the symptoms. Many doctors will just prescribe without knowing; she is much more comprehensive than most. She also has homeopathic suggestions to help with discomfort when the issue is minor (back aches, congestion, neck pain, etc.) Dr. Wu is who I want to always have care for my family and I, so wherever she goes, we will be there.
