They always answered the phone right away and he was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. He then referred me to the physical therapy office next door and that's where the issues began. Since the first time I called, nobody ever picks up, I called 20+ times in a span of 2 weeks and each time the automated phone system made me listen to a 5 minute message about the history of San Diego Sports Medicine and the different location's phone numbers and then would proceed to hang up on me. The few times it did let me leave a message, nobody ever got back to me. It seems like nobody works at the front desk for some reason. When they finally got back to me, they made an appointment for me with the specific PT that Dr.Koretoff had requested. I was 3 weeks out from the earliest appointment which was not ideal but I had no choice but to wait. When I finally received the appointment reminder the week before the appointment, it said that the appointment will be with someone else, and not the person I had made the appointment with. The person at the front desk even confirmed that it will be with the PT I requested but that's not what they inputted in the system. As a result, I now have to wait another week to start PT. They offered no way to reconcile the situation even though it was their fault, and basically the conclusion was "tough luck, you have to pay for our mistake." In a separate conversation with the front desk again, they were explaining to me the difference between paying out of pocket vs going through insurance. They gave me the out of pocket rate but said that they can't confirm what the cost will be with insurance until I come in so I explained my deductible and the terms on my coverage to get her advice, the answer I got verbatim was "I've explained to you over and over again and it doesn't seem like you're understand so I think I'm wasting my time here." WTF? She only explained to me once, and basically indirectly called me dumb and told me I'm wasting her time? That's no way to talk to any patient especially if I'm being respectful. This is absolutely unacceptable. I don't care if you're having a bad day, you shouldn't be talking to people like that period, let alone if your job is customer service. This is absolutely the worst experience I've ever had with any front desk/customer service. It's like they hate their jobs. Do you guys no vet people before hiring them?

When it comes to quality care, the physicians here really think and come up with solutions to help you get back on your feet -- in my case, it was recovery from a fractured talus. Cole and Makena were amazing physicians who helped me through the time I had an air-cast around post 6 week surgery til I was on my 2 feet lightly jumping and jogging. They were extremely knowledgeable in the various workouts and parts of the foot (which were so complex). I had a ton of stiffness being immobilized for ~3-4 months, but all the personalized progressions they put me through fixed maybe 85% of my immobility. A lot of the PT has helped me gain a lot of strength and can do multiple sets of assisted pistol squats now. Mobility is my main bottleneck still, but without the physicians' help I don't think I could've gained this much range of motion back. Everyone -- from the physicians, aids, manager -- all were extremely bright, warm, and fun peoples. The ambiance itself was fun, and it truly made going to PT enjoyable even if all my sessions were bright and early at 7:30 am. Overall, I really recommend this PT clinic from personal experience when it comes to foot immobilization therapy. The overall care is highly recommended because everyone is so great too.

I attended Scripps Ranch Physical Therapy for over a year before and after a hip replacement. During that entire time, I was never once asked to make a payment in the office nor did I receive any billing statements. I assumed my therapy was covered through insurance. Five months after my final appointment, I suddenly received two invoices marked "Final Notice." When I called to question these invoices, Terry stated that their records showed the bills had been mailed. I explained that these were the first invoices I had ever received and that it was unreasonable to send "Final Notice" bills without any prior communication--especially after more than a year of regular visits. Her response, after a long pause, was simply, "Are you going to pay?" I requested to speak with a manager and was told, "You are." When I asked to speak with the owner, I was told, "That is not going to happen." This level of rudeness and lack of accountability reflects extremely poor customer service. I feel sorry for the therapists who work here, as they do not deserve to be associated with such managers who treat their patience's with such disrespect. I can't imagine how the management treats their employees. I will not return to this practice and will not recommend it to anyone.

My care plan is not only 100% tailored to me, but Deanna also personalizes every session based on how I'm feeling both physically/mentally that day, integrating mental/physical well-being in her practice. She takes the time to listen/understand how my condition impacts my life, finds ways for me to integrate my home care routine more easily/efficiently into my lifestyle, explains how each exercise/stretch works, and creates new ones on the spot to help save me time by combining several into one. Deanna truly goes above/beyond by taking the time to help me better understand my condition anatomically, how it affects me physically, and took things a step further by helping me understand my MRI/x-ray impressions ordered by the pain docs but never explained to me in a way I could understand by them. Thanks to her and Annika's profound empathy/compassion, unremitting encouragement/devotion, inexhaustible patience/support, and exceptional teamwork; I have managed to get off opioids completely, drastically cut down on multiple other addictive meds, regain confidence in my self/my ability to get better, and learn what I can do to continue along this path to recovery without having to get surgery. I'm no longer stumbling around in the dark and can finally see light at the end of the tunnel. They have completely transformed my life for the better and I sincerely hope they are getting the recognition/compensation they deserve for their relentless hard-work/efforts. Speaking of well deserved recognition/compensation for hard-work/efforts, I feel it's important that I mention all the other amazing PT Techs that have played a role in my journey to recovery (not in any particular order and hopefully spelled correctly): Jericho, Hanna, Blake, Chloe, Nick, Cora, and Jacob. My previous visits were for pelvic floor therapy during pregnancy. This time I came in for an acute lower back injury. The morning I called, I explained that I was in significant pain and asked if there were any same-day openings. I also specifically asked whether my evaluation would include manual therapy, since I had been told it would be an evaluation appointment. I was told yes. This is the third physical therapy clinic I've been to over the last four years, so I have a good basis for comparison. During my previous pelvic floor therapy at this clinic, I often felt that appointments were rushed. There were multiple occasions when my therapist was running behind because they were still treating another patient. While I completely understand that schedules can get delayed, my sessions still ended at the originally scheduled end time instead of extending to make up for the late start. As a result, I frequently felt like I received less treatment time than I was scheduled for. I overlooked that at the time because I was pregnant, exhausted, and didn't want the hassle of finding another physical therapist. I also genuinely liked my therapist. Unfortunately, my recent evaluation reinforced those same concerns. The evaluation lasted roughly 45 minutes. Based on my experiences at two previous PT clinics, as well as conversations with other offices, I expected a new patient evaluation to be around 60-90 minutes and to include both assessment and some form of treatment when appropriate. During the appointment, the therapist asked me to lie on my stomach. I explained that the position was too painful because of my back injury and asked whether manual therapy could instead be performed while I was lying on my side. She agreed and performed some assessment, but no manual therapy or soft tissue work was provided. When I rolled over to get up, I was told the session was over. I was surprised and asked about the manual therapy I had specifically called to ask about before scheduling. I was told that I had not wanted to lie on my stomach. That explanation was disappointing because, at my previous PT clinics, both therapists routinely adapted treatment when my pain prevented me from lying prone. They performed manual therapy with me on my side without issue. During severe flare-ups, they also incorporated gentle soft tissue work along with heat or ice when appropriate to help reduce pain enough for me to begin exercises. None of that was offered during this visit. Financially, this was especially frustrating. I paid $150 toward my PPO deductible for what felt like a very brief evaluation with no hands-on treatment. Even if my out-of-pocket cost had been much lower, I still would have left feeling disappointed because my concern is the quality of care, not simply the price. I was also surprised to learn that the clinic now charges an annual membership fee (implemented in March 2026) in addition to accepting insurance. Since I wasn't sure whether I would even return after my evaluation, I questioned why I would pay an annual fee before deciding whether to continue care. The staff kindly waived the fee for my first visit, which I appreciated, but I still don't agree with the concept of requiring an annual membership for in-network physical therapy services. Overall, I left feeling that I did not receive the level of evaluation or treatment I was led to expect, especially after specifically asking in advance whether manual therapy would be included. I want to emphasize that my therapist was kind and professional throughout the visit, and I have no doubt she genuinely cares about her patients. My review is not about her as a person. It's about an experience that consistently felt rushed--both during my previous course of pelvic floor therapy and now during my evaluation for an acute back injury. Based on my experiences, I cannot recommend this clinic.
