I'd like to start by saying that I live in AZ and Lori has been wonderful. she is always very helpful and always so pleasant, something hard to get nowaday. I've been ordering from her for a very long time and will continue to as long as online selling is available. This is the e-mail just sent to corporate. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I was very excited to finally bring my items in to the Seekonk, RI location after waiting about 3 weeks for an appointment. I was excited not only to see what items you had for sale but also to make room in my house for those new items since I have held onto a good majority of my now 2.5 year olds clothes. As soon as I walked in, the disappointment began to set in. The women in the counter wasn't all that friendly... she wasn't rude but didn't go out of her way to welcome us into the store. This relationship is one that is supposed to be mutually beneficial -- you buy my stuff to re-sell, I make a little extra money. We were told that we could wait while the clothes were sorted, or come back. There was extreme emphasis on coming back by the end of the hour. After looking around the store, we decided to run a quick errand that would take no more than 15 minutes and stated we would be right back. We were once again reminded, this time rudely, that we would need to be right back. 11 minutes later we were back in the store where we waited an additional 35 minutes to be called to the back. The woman in the back was BEYOND rude. I understand that there are some items that your stores will not accept due to styling, quality, etc and I can completely respect that. ALL of the items I brought in were in at very least EUC - most items worn once or were new with tags. The sorting system was ridiculous and I quickly found that my stuff had been mixed in with another family's - which was a HUGE mess considering I declined the offer. Maybe if your folks had been friendlier, or maybe if I hadn't waited as long I would have accepted the offer of $37 but at that point, I was DONE. The woman huffed and puffed as she put my items back in the bag and didn't even offer a salutation as we left. I have never in my life been treated so poorly as a customer. I will NEVER set foot in one of your stores again -- not to sell and not to buy -- quite frankly, the items in this store were not even up to the quality I would expect. I hope in the future you can hire some folks with nice personalities, who have some manners - I think most mom's expect and deserve at least that. read more

This place is just ok for buying items but don't try to sell anything here... First of all on their website it doesn't mention that they only want you to bring you disposable shopping bags of clothing. So I showed up with a plastic tote my bad. The lady was snarky as hell and already rolling her eyes as I went to my car to get the other tote. Now I had already been warned that these people don't accept anything and will probably pay you in peanuts... but the things that they didn't accept blew my mind. We're two months from Easter I bring in 4 Easter dresses that my kids have literally only been photographed in. Never worn again never even needed to be washed. They declared these items too worn. Also apparently baby Jordan sneakers and warm up suits are not in style. I feel like it's not a coincidence that all that all the "urban style" clothes were thrown back, although pristine. I walked out of there with like 12 bucks and better clothes than half the crap on their shelves anyways. If you don't want your kid to look like Steve Urkel hit me up they're for sale! When I was done the woman acted like she couldn't get me out of there fast enough, and I didn't even give them any objections lol... Seriously one of them held the door, the other one was booking it at me with the second tote and they practically threw my 12 bucks at me. I am writing this review in response to the person who called this store a joke and referred to the owner as an old fart. I was there when you rudely slammed the DVD on the counter and said keep it. If you are going to write a nasty review it helps to be truthful. I have been shopping at this store for 10 years and will continue to do so. I went in yesterday. The owner was not nice at all. I asked for an item and she seemed pissed I asked. She found it and I sled the size and again she was rude. I just felt very put off by her. I told he I would take it but wanted to look around a bit more. She just looked at me. It was weird. I paid and left. I won't go back in. Her attitude was just bad. Called at 9am to see if they had a pack n' play in store. Was advised that yes they do and they would need to call me back regarding price and availability. I provided my cell phone number, and waited, and waited, and waited. So after waiting for a while, thinking they were busy and they'd call me, I called Once Upon A Child in Warwick and they had one available for $30. I then decided to call Children's Orchard back. I asked about the pack n' play and mentioned that I was expecting a call back since they opened. The lady who I spoke to interrupted me mid sentece and rudely replied that they tried calling me and they got the busy signal and then sold it to someone else. I had my phone on myself all day and no call came in from them, so I can't help but believe they forgot or dialed my cell phone number incorrectly. She didn't seem to thrilled to ask me if I would like to be placed on a list, but I had declined and stated I really needed one so I was going to drive to Warwick to go pick up the one from Once Upon a Child. To which I got a "Fine" and then hung up on. I don't think I'll ever bring myself to step foot in their door to buy or sell anything after this interaction....unless their staff gets a re-training in Customer Service 101. read more

I like brand new baby clothes as much as the next girl. Sometimes I go into brand name baby clothes stores and just can't stand the cuteness and want to buy them all. Then... I remember, that's crazy! Used kids clothes are the cats pajamas and way cheaper too. Literally they grow out of them in 3 months or less, especially in year one. The spit up, drool, spill, poop and pee on nearly everything so why buy new? And shoes? Come on! I love this place right near Target in Seekonk. They are well organized, great selection of used kids clothes at great, affordable prices and some used toys and baby gear too. Great place for holiday outfits too. I love waking out with a big bag of items for $25 or less, which would be one or maybe two outfits new. Trust me. Others will buy you cute new things. But what you need here. read more

I shop exclusively at second hand stores for my daughter. They are a bit expensive and pay around .50 per item no matter what it is. You would have better luck selling online. The women in the store tend to talk down to customers, not very professional read more

Was looking and comparing two iteams in the store and one was without a price tag. When my friend and I asked for a price the older women behind the counter was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately she had to check with someone that I can only guess was the manager who was rude and dismissive. I'm sorry to be bothering you, but had you tagged the item before you put it out of the sales floor you wouldn't have been bothered. This place is a joke! Drive like 200ft for Target or Wallmart and get it brand new. The best part is, in case the Item is damaged you can actually bring it back to Target or Wallmart. The old fart who owns this store will tell you that it's your fault. Do not shop here!!! read more

I've never tried to sell my things here so I can't comment on that aspect of things but as a buyer I absolutely love this place. They have a good variety, well organized, reasonably priced. I love coming here! They have lots of events for things like Halloween where you can get costumes etc. They have gear as well and some shoes. I have been a regular customer at Children's Orchard in Seekonk for a long time. I find the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The children's clothing is clean, steamed and very well organized. The owner, Lori, is very nice and exceptionally helpful. I was really impressed, I had my young son who was in a difficult mood with me. They even carried my bag to my car. I must say this store is absolutely fantastic. Lori (the owner) Marge, Erika and other staff members are very friendly, and I always feel welcome and helped when I walk in. Their selection and prices cannot be beat, this is not a consignment shop at all, this is a upscale resale store with very clean cloths, toys, shoes, and many other items (often they are almost brand new). If you are shopping on a budget this is the place to go, even if you are not it is still the place to go. I recommend all parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, or anyone with a little one to buy for to come in and shop. I haven't sold anything here but from what I have been told they are very fair (by other customers, and family I have sent), but some people don't understand you can't get top dollar for 2.5 year old clothing and other items. My final word is the Children's Orchard in Seekonk is wonderful, and I wouldn't listen to anyone who says other wise. read more

I'm going to start with the positives. 1) Store was well-stocked. 2) Sales assistants were nice & polite. 3) Items were reasonably priced. Now, for the negatives. To make a long story short, I called the store a day prior to selling our baby's stuff to find out how the "selling thing" worked (since this was my first time). These were the exact words of the person I spoke to. "We buy the stuff at half the price and the amount goes down from there depending on how clean the items are as well as how well they work." At that time I didn't think to clarify because it sounded pretty straight forward. But little did I know that when she said "We buy the stuff at half the price..." she APPARENTLY was referring to half the price of the amount they were going to sell it for, not half the price of what we paid. Anyway, further into the convo, she tells me that they give cash for anything less than $50 and a check or store credit for anything more than that. She also urged me to take every item we had discussed about selling down to the store so she could price them. Next day we went to the store. After an hour of waiting IN THE STORE to get our items checked and price, she tells me that they'll pay me $75 for all the items or $91 in store credit. We are talking about like new items such as Baby Einstein jumperoo, Fisher price swing, bassinet, bouncer, Fisher price push toy, mobile, 2 musical toys. Since I felt that they were robbing us blind, I asked her to let me know how much they would buy everything else EXCEPT the swing & jumperoo. Her reply was, "In that case, take it all back." This was not discussed in our phone convo. She never said we had to sell all or nothing. When asked about why the amount was so low, only then did she explain it was priced at half of what they would sell it for and not what we paid. She started getting rude from there on & said that she doesn't understand why anyone would even pay half of the amount we paid for the items. Overall, a horrible experience and I am never going back there. We have a ton more of stuff to sell but I would rather give them away to charity then deal with such people again who lie to their customers and treat them with poor conduct. I wouldn't even rate it a 1 star but yelp gave me no choice. read more
