We never had any real issues to speak of, and we enjoyed having access to both an indoor and outdoor pool. The location is also very convenient. It's very close to shopping and restaurants, as well as the interstate, and it's a straight shot into other parts of town that many likely frequent. It worked very well for us while attending UK and EKU. After we moved B's brother actually moved into Raintree for a few years, living in two different apartments during his time there, and he never had any issues that I'm aware of either. We visited him often and never struggled with visitor parking, which was nice. Given that my experience was some time ago, it's difficult for me to know the state of this complex now, but I can tell you that during the time I lived here, or visited here often, it was a good place to live.

Dangerous Negligence, Breach of Contract, Illegal Entries, and Retaliatory Billing. Writing on behalf of my brother (due to him pursing legal action against the company and stuff) to warn the public about Raintree Apartments (Birge & Held). We have an untouched paper trail of every single email, code violation, and log proving their severe corporate negligence. TIMELINE OF VIOLATIONS: Sept 15, 2022: My brother emailed reporting his bedroom window was broken/wouldn't stay open and balcony blinds were destroyed. Leasing Specialist Haley Donohoe explicitly acknowledged this. Oct 5, 2022: He reported a severe electrical shortage by his door that was actively sparking. Management ignored this life-threatening safety hazard for over a month. Oct 2022: Instead of fixing the emergency exit window, management committed fraud in their internal systems by logging maintenance request Ref #10346-1 as "Completed." In reality, the window was left broken for over 250 days. March 4, 2023: Formal complaint sent to District Manager Jennifer Ranson. Haley Donohoe had been falsifying internal documents by marking "Anytime" entry permission without consent, leading to illegal entries. Furthermore, their negligence resulted in ME being actively electrocuted by the sparking outlet they refused to fix. Jennifer Ranson completely dismissed these safety and privacy violations. March 25-29, 2023: After months of being ignored, my brother deducted $69.94 to replace the blinds himself. Jennifer Ranson aggressively refused it, lied that they had "no open requests," and threatened to reject his entire rent. May 25, 2023: I bypassed management and reported them to the city. The Lexington Division of Code Enforcement inspected the unit and hit New Raintree LLC with a formal Notice of Violation (Case Number: 1006138). The city legally determined that the property owners were actively maintaining conditions dangerous to human health and safety due to faulty/unsafe electrical systems and structural neglect. This is an official government legal record. We know exactly who they are, and the city does too. RETALIATORY CREDIT BILLING: Because they forced my brother to live in an uninhabitable environment, we contested their buyout fees when he rightfully left. In retaliation, Raintree Apartments slapped a fraudulent $1,779 balance onto his credit report which was discovered May of 2026. This is a blatant violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), as they are reporting an invalid debt from a breached lease. FINAL VERDICT: Jennifer Ranson, Haley Donohoe, Kelli Farr, and Birge & Held will compromise your safety, violate your privacy, falsify maintenance records, and try to destroy your credit score when held accountable.

After discovering a severe pre-existing mechanical issue with a pre-owned vehicle shortly after purchase, I reached out to management. Shane responded with total integrity and professionalism. They coordinated the transport of the vehicle back to their facility, verified the diagnostic findings at a certified shop, and voluntarily unwound the transaction for a full refund of my down payment. It is rare to see a dealership demonstrate this level of accountability and good-faith customer service. Thank you, Shane, for handling this like a true professional and taking care of your customers.

    Ed Sturgill, the service manager, verbally assaulted me on the phone. He interrupted me, screamed…read moreat me, and told me that my car would always be last in line as long as it was at his shop. This was after my car was there for over 2 weeks with no timeline for completion, and no loaner. After hearing this, I made the decision to remove my vehicle from this business. I filed a complaint with corporate and asked for an apology, which was never offered. Not offering an apology for blatant disrespect, is another level of disrespect. If you want to be treated like trash, and never receiving a service, then james motor company will deliver. However, if you expect a service, as a paying customer, and expect a basic level of respect, then I would never recommend this company. Honestly, we ended up taking the car to the mercedes dealership in Louisville, where the service was successfully completed in half a day and no on yelled at me. Unfortunately this business is terrible, and I would never wish this service or treatment for anyone. ​
