Ordered a salt free vegan curry this evening and they did as requested. My curry was spicy, flavoursome and the mushroom rice (again salt free) cooked to perfection. Excellent staff who took my order over the phone. 10/10 read more

It was the night before Christmas... actually, the Sunday night before Christmas, and everything…read moreelse was fully booked in the centre of Perth. So we and our friends decided to have a bit of Pizza Express. I haven't been to Pizza Express in a few years, but everything was as I expected, since it's Pizza Express. Service was good. The food was good, but not great. It would come as no surprise that it's a bit overpriced, even if it IS pretty decent pizza. I decided to get one of the low calorie pizzas... they have a hole in the middle with a rocket salad. It was ok. But even for what it was, I felt like I was wasting my money. There were 6 adults and 2 children in our group. They put 3 round tables together, which just made for an awkward setting for conversations. If you're in Perth looking for good pizza, this by no means should be one of your first options. Try Duo or Breizh. If they're closed, then don't get pizza or drive to the next town. Or get Pizza Express and get what you're expecting.

It is still a chain restaurant though but in Perth I find it's the staff that makes the difference. I ventured in recently at lunch time with my little one and they even managed to give her some toys to play with!! It isn't all that big so if you are looking for a table at a set time I would recommend booking in advance especially at the weekend.

There are definitely lots of restaurants or cafes, but very few worth visiting more than once. Duo, however, I simply can't get enough of. Duo is the Italian little sister of Perth's well-known French restaurant Pig'halle, and they sacrifice none of the quality. Everything is made in house, including the pasta and pizza. Knowing this, I have found it hard to resist having pasta here. The egg linguine with mozzarella and sun dried tomatoes is excellent. On my most recent visit I had the pumpkin and pecorino ravioli in honey and orange jus. It was an incredible plat du jour that was almost sweet enough to be a dessert as much as a main course. Speaking of dessert, you really need to have one here. It's worth it just to stop in for dessert with wine or coffee or tea. Or it could be worth stopping in for one (or 10) of their famous macarons (the best in Perth) or an eclair. They also make arguably the best pizzas in town. They even have a haggis pizza, how Italian-Scottish could you get? And it's also worth noting that they do 2-for-1 pizzas to takeaway on Tuesdays... but if you MUST plan ahead. This is such a popular deal that I recommend phoning at least an hour ahead. I'll often phone in the afternoon for an evening pickup.

We also did not wait long for the food. I was filled up and ready to hit the streets of Perth once more. A great place for great food and service. I will be visiting again. I have already told friends about this place, and came here based upon a friends recommendation.

Warmly welcomed for the business lunch here at Namaste Gurkha earlier today…read more The restaurant serves many of the popular Indian meals, but we decided, in the main, to opt for more unusual Nepalese choices. Two of our party began with the Nepalese Chilli Chicken - which was mildly spiced, with the taste of chilli & spring onions coming through. They both loved it. Another ordered the Sweet Chicken Tikka which was the same tender chicken you are familiar with, but marinated in honey for extra sweetness. I tried a little and it was lovely. My starter was Khasi Bhuteko, shredded spiced lamb in sauce. It has a very similar texture to pulled pork and tasted delicious. For the mains we enjoyed; Garlic Chilli Chicken - which is a medium spiced dish. Chicken Tikka Masala - with a sweet coconut sauce Chicken Nepal - Sweet Mango Chicken with a mild sauce. It actually tasted so abundantly fruity it was as if there were a whole mango in the dish. I had the Gurkhali Chilli spiced chicken in a thick sauce with a hint of lemon & some spicy green chillies. I would definitely have it again. We shared a garlic naan, Peshawari naan and two pilau rice. The naan's were very fluffy and the rice nice and light. My brother and I had Khukuri Nepalese Beer - named after the Gurkha regiment's curved blade. It has a foretaste like a wheat beer (Weiss Bier) and a hoppy aftertaste - lightly carbonated so a perfect companion for Nepalese / Indian meals. To finish we polished off Nepalese rice pudding - very small thin rice grains in a cream with a similar taste to Ras Malai. The whole meal was superb with complex sauces. We were also looked after by a great host and look forward to returning.

I've not purchased anything from this restaurant in a while, as I do like to try new places with regards to takeaway, but fancied something I could graze on rather than a heavy meal. I purchased the 'Munchy Box' at £9, as well as a can of Irn-Bru. Fizzy juice always tastes good with takeaway, water just doesn't cut it. This box was jam-packed with the following: - Vegetable and Chicken Pakora - Pitta Bread - Kebab Meat (Donner) - Chicken Breast/Wings (Tandoori Marinade) - Chips - Salad (Which was surprisingly fresh) - Chilli Sauce Now I would only really eat the pakora, chicken breast and chips out of this selection, but I did try a little piece of everything and it was pretty awesome! I wasn't expecting the quality to be quite so high, but the standard of the product was excellent. The pakora were crisp on the outside, but not overcooked - the inside cooked well. Pitta bread wasn't stale - always a good start! Chicken breast/wings were delicious - the chicken was perfectly cooked with a good flavour from the marinade (I didn't try the wings as bone-in meat products freak me out). I did share the box with 3 other people, and there was plenty to go around. Definitely worth the money considering it fed 4 people!

We love the Chicken Tikka Masala. They also offer delivery. We have visited the restaurant to eat-in a few times too and their buffet is great.
