I said yes, and he said he remembered working on my house when the previous owner owned it. I work in HVAC design (his coworker even made a comment about how it was nice to talk to an owner that knew what they were talking about), so I was telling him what I was looking at installing. He proceeded to lecture me for an hour on why I should spray foam my attic. I kept telling him that I agreed, but I could not afford that and was not planning on being in this house long enough to make that level investment. He didn't listen. He kept pushing and pushing the insulation issue. After an hour, he proceeded to tell me that he was getting too old to be climbing in hot attics to replace units. He wasted AN HOUR of my time when he knew from the moment he got out of my truck that he was not going to give me a quote!!! I give two stars because I did not disagree with spray foaming being a good idea, so I am not saying he is not somewhat knowledgeable, nor am I saying he does good install work. However, he will not listen to your requests and is very arrogant in pushing his own agenda. I am very fortunate to be knowledgeable in HVAC and recognize a poor HVAC businessman, but let this be a warning to those not in the HVAC field. PS. At work the next day (an HVAC office btw), I was complaining about the level of disrespect by wasting my time and blowing off my request, and my coworker proceeded to tell me that he had a very unpleasant experience with this company too (he requested Howard to do one thing, and he did another on his own accord).
