I love Food Truck Tuesdays in Smyrna! A true delightful treat during the summer that I wish can…read moreeventually be offered up until Halloween! It's held at Taylor-Brawner Park off Atlanta Rd, which is a great location to spread out, have a mini picnic, and enjoy! The ambiance is family, community, and definitely giving summer! There's a playground for the kids, live music by local performers, and there are bathrooms with changing tables if you have littles that require them. It does get hot since this is Atlanta in the summer so prepare accordingly. The food trucks are mostly a variety yet there have been times when some of the trucks offered the same types of food (fries, tenders, burgers/sandwiches) which can be a buzz kill, so I would recommend going on the City of Smyrna government page on Facebook to see which trucks would be in attendance that day to avoid disappointment. There are some trucks that are there each Tuesday with the King of Pops being one of them. And they have vegetarian and vegan options as well. Ding ding! Most of the vendors accept cards so having a mix of cash and cards is better but not required. Again, I love it and so does my family since there's something for everyone to enjoy! Attend, you won't be disappointed!

I arrived around 6:45pm and had no problem finding parking. The event is well organized and there are staff that direct you to open parking spaces. You know this is not in the city because there is no fee to park!! You heard me correctly-- FREE PARKING!! The crowd was a great mix, families with kids, couples, friends and tons of fur babies! There is not really any specific organized activity, but be creative. Some people had hammocks set up, balls to play kick ball with and some were just sitting or standing around talking. It's all about what you make it There were a ton of food truck options. I was overwhelmed, but did finally decided to try the Blaxican Food truck. I ordered the collard green quesadilla. The greens were seasoned with turkey meat and had a hint of spiciness to them. I enjoyed every bite of my order! I also had the infamous sesame fries from another truck. I can't recall the name of that truck, but if you see sesame fries on the menu order them. They are only $4.00 and will worth each dollar! Of course I had to have desert. I tried the praline pecan pie from the New Orleans themed truck! Oh my gosh, it is divine!!! If you are up for being around people, eating good, enjoying the beautiful weather, this is the spot to go on a Tuesday evening!

Knish me, I'm Jewish! Well half, anyway. But I know true dogs and Jewish snack foods when I get…read more'em. Take me to Fatty's - wherever they might be around town, please. My only complaint is they aren't always so easy to find (btw, not worth docking them a star for this). Fatty (and wife) are like the Rogers and Hammerstein of food trucks. Their food is like a 3-act play and it's full of wonderful tunes along the way. Let's start with the opener: Act 1 - Potato Knish: This can best be described as a mashed potato turnover. They can be large, small, round, square...the ultimate Jewish snack food. You can get it with spinach and cheese or pepperoni for extra, but why mess with a classic. I like mine with a little salt and sauce (mustard works for me, but there is also Fatty's special spicy sauce). Yummmmmm. You cannot go wrong here. Fried taters. Yes please. Act 2 - The Dogs: Okay, I could go on and on here and they all have names and things that come on them, but I will tell you what I have had and I loved them both (and please don't ask me for names). A dog with peppers and onions (OMG, to die for) and a dog with mustard and slaw on top. Their slaw is creamy and crunchy - two things slaw should always be. Their dogs are all-beef Sabrett hot dogs and juicy and delicious. And Act 3 - Cannolis: Traditional cannolis with the chocolate chips dipped on the ends. Fabulous crunchy shell, not too sweet, but sweet enough to let you know this is the final act to your kick ass food truck indulgence. As they say - go big or go home. Fatty's doesn't skimp, so you definitely get your money's worth. Look for they around town and get yourself a full 3-act meal and you will not be sorry...but you might be full.

Eyyy, Fatty's! This…read moreis a husband-and-wife run food truck that serves up authentic New York style hot dogs and sausages along with other NYC favorites like cannolis, knishes, jumbo pretzels and Italian ices. The proprietor John is the real deal--he's been slinging out dirty water dogs since he was a young man in New York. He definitely knows how to dress up a delicious dog. I've had several of the menu items over two separate visits and highly recommend all of the dogs and sides that I've sampled. Fatty's Tex-Mex ($6): Quarter pound Sabrett all-beef dog with lettuce, onions, cheddar, black bean & corn salsa, chipotle cream. This one definitely has a southwestern flare that really compliments the beef hot dog's distinctive flavor. It's not really very spicy at all. "Da Bronx" ($6): Two all-beef Sabrett hot dogs with spicy mustard and Sabrett onion sauce. This one sound simple but it actually packs a wallop. The onion sauce has a nice zing that compliments the mustard. Potato Knishes ($4): Potato pancakes. Before Fatty's I had never tried a knish, so I can't speak to their authenticity; but they sure are tasty! You can add either pepperoni & cheese or spinach & cheese for $2. Cannoli ($4): Traditional cannolis with chocolate chips. These things taste way better than any other dessert I've tried from a food truck. Fantastic crunchy shell, decadent but not overly sweet. Get one with your meal. It's worthwhile, trust me. It seems like Fatty's spends many Saturdays at a Petsmart, and otherwise travels around to various office parks during the week and local festivals on the weekends. Try checking out their FB page or Twitter account to see where they'll be next. And be sure to come hungry--they don't skimp on the portion sizes!

If you're in the Kennesaw area on Monday nights and are craving some food truck food or if you're in a group where you can't agree on food, this is definitely a fantastic option. The trucks are also parked right next door to the farmer's market, so you can pick up some fresh fruits and veggies for the rest of the week!

It's like a Smörgåsbord on wheels. I plethora of choices all in a small area to choose from and the hardest part is making an actual decision. Tonight I went with the "Da Bronx" dogs from Fatty's of Atlanta (http://www.yelp.com/biz/fattys-of-atlanta-marietta) - killer hot dogs, NY style and a Root Beer float. The dogs are dressed with spicy mustard and onion sauce and are oh-so-delectable. And who doesn't LOVE a root beer float? Next up was truffle-parmesan fries from the Fry Guy (http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-fry-guy-atlanta). These were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside with great Earthy and salty flavor. They were also kind enough to give me a free ice water. By the way, the fries were so good, we went back for a second order to share. We then went back for some Italian ices from Fatty's - it was a warm night out and this was a nice sweet treat - we tried the cherry, watermelon, mango and chocolate. They were all delish! But after that, I still had a bit of a sweet tooth. And anyone who knows me knows... King of Pops (http://www.yelp.com/biz/king-of-pops-atlanta) MUST finish my night! Always look for the rainbow umbrella for the perfect pop. Tonight I went for the Cookies and Cream. A frozen version of milk and chocolate chip cookies... I'm sorry, how can you go wrong? That's right, you CAN'T! Also there was: Yum Yum Cupcake & More (http://www.yelp.com/biz/yum-yum-cupcake-and-more-atlanta) Alisha's Kitchen (http://www.yelp.com/biz/alishas-kitchen-cartersville) And a fish and chips place - I missed the name (sorry allergic to fish) I'll visit again for sure.

We had three sandwiches: Dill with it, the arsonist and the Al Capesto. Our favorite was the arsonist followed closely by the pesto one. The candied bacon and the seasoning on top puts it over the top. We loved how they cut these onto triangles of four, making them real easy to share. I ordered online and it only took 15 minutes. It was ready as soon as I ordered and started my half mile walk. I've heard of ghost kitchens before, and have got delivery from them, but never been inside of one. I absolutely love the idea. They take an underutilized kitchen such as one at a church and put it to good use during off hours. It's such a wonderful idea to not be wasteful with space and I'm sure it keeps the food prices low. Don't expect like a fancy fast casual place that spends way too much money on their space, but they do a perfect job with what they got. You are coming up to a church, but it's so well marked with signs and lights you can't miss it. It so nice to having a place in Candler park we can walk to, and the owners are warm and friendly. Truly a unique gem in the hood.
