Buddhists delight was full of tofu and mixed veggies
    Bobo J.

I was pleasantly surprised by the large number of vegetarian options on this menu! The steamed veggie dumplings were inexpensive at $4.50 and yummy. My mom's Buddhist delight was not just a fresh assortment of veggies but included lots of fried tofu, too. My sweetie liked her shrimp w mixed veggies. I was excited to see General Tso's tofu on the menu, but the sauce was a little too sweet with hardly any veggies. It was good, but I also wished the tofu was breaded. Overall--a solid meal with lots of tasty choices!

I'm usually very happy with my to go order from china cafe. My beef and broccoli was good, but I decided to order chicken wings also. "BAD MISTAKE." When I opened the bag and looked at them. They appeared to look like they were not fresh, but re-fried. But I decided to taste one. Ugh, the inside was old and brown. I called them and told her about the chicken and she proceeded to tell me that they don't refry anything and the temperature that they cook in. She also informed me that they don't give refunds. Even though I like the beef/broccoli, they have certainly lost me as a customer.

Probably the best shrimp rolls I've ever had! Perfection. Ordering online was a breeze.

The menu was wrong, they didn't have half of what was listed. Poor customer service. I do not recommend going here.

Ordering online was easy and we were quoted 15 minutes for pickup time since they don't deliver right now. It ended up being closer to 30 minutes but they were slammed and the staff was really apologetic. Prices are good. Food is good, but we had a bit of trial and error in figuring out what food we'd like and what it would look like, since that seems to vary across restaurants in the area. For example, I ordered honey chicken expecting a sweet dark sauce on lightly breaded chicken since that's what "honey chicken" is at other restaurants. However, theirs is sweet and sour type chicken, just coated in a thick and sticky clear honey sauce with a ton of veggies (carrots, mushrooms, peppers). It wasn't bad, just not what I was expecting. The chicken on a stick was good. The crab rangoons were the triangular shape I like but tasted a bit too oniony for my liking. The sweet and sour sauce was good. My husband liked his lo mein and was glad he got it with no veggies since their veggies include mushrooms (a first for us). They have the BEST pork fried rice I've tried at any Chinese restaurant around. I also like that they offer krab as a protein for things. We got the krab lo mein and it was good. Their boneless ribs were good, but a bit too dry and not sweet enough for me. It was a huge portion of them with lo mein for only $12ish dollars though. We will definitely order again!! Especially since their location is so convenient and the service was so good. Like I said, it's trial and error of figuring out what you like.

This is next door to the goodwill in the plaza. I ordered online and wasn't able to pay in advance. I had no idea they charged an extra 4% for cards until I got there to pick up the food (not mentioned online anywhere), PLUS an extra service fee charged and I had already tipped 10% online. There's a sign on the register about a free two liter with $30 purchase, but I was ignored when I asked about it. My food was put on a table before I paid for it and I was ignored when I tried to double check that it was my order. It was chaotic inside with so many people in a tiny space. This cost me more than delivery with delivery fee and a tip from a really good Chinese place that is ~10 miles from us each way, but it wasn't as convenient for me to pick up on my way home from work which is why we tried somewhere closer to home. Big mistake. The crab rangoons are okay in terms of the filling, but ours were burnt and very crunchy. The sweet and sour sauce was okay. I was sad they didn't have honey chicken, so I went with the bourbon chicken since that was one of my favorite foods in our previous town. 0/10 - do NOT order. I have no idea what this was, but the sauce was too thick and congealed and the chicken tasted weird. I tried to check their google pics to make sure it looked similar to the kind I ordered before, and it did, but that's not what I received. The lo mein isn't terrible, but I definitely recommend getting it without veggies. I wasn't a fan. My fiancé liked his shrimp lo mein without veggies. The worst thing was the shrimp fried rice. It smelled so fishy and rancid as soon as I opened the container... terrible. The only saving grace and thing I'd ever go back for are the boneless spare ribs. Those were incredible and the only reason for two stars instead of one.

So, as we are not local we turned to YELP for the save. Needless to say there were some user errors, and we ended up in the parking lot looking in on China Express. I almost drove off as it's rather dated and a very run down. But, after consulting both YELP and Google then considering the proximity of our Hotel to the next closet choice we decided to go inside on order. Bottom line, the inside is nothing special & if I'm honest it's rather rundown with the menu offerings being the expected choices. However, we did not go inside for the ambiance, we went inside because my teenage Son was getting hangry. In the end the service was quick and the food was actually better than most of the other restaurants of this style I've eaten at. Noted, it was not the best Chinese Takeout, but certainly better than most of this type I've had the sad misfortune of eating. I can honestly say that if this restaurant was local to me it would probably be my go to Chinese Takeout restaurant.

Every Chinese restaurant in the Harrisburg area is mediocre at best. We are seriously lacking in quality Chinese food! The Singapore Mai Fun was very good, as was the Hot & sour soup. The General Tsao was good, but not great. The Shrimp Egg Foo Yung was definitely better than most around here. The egg rolls were above average, but not by much. The delivery time was pushing an hour, but when you shouldn't drive, it's just fine with me. This will be my new go to for Chinese take out, at least for now. If you haven't tried them yet, give them a shot, you might be impressed?

I normally get this pretty often, so I knew I was in for a treat that I couldn't stop to eat. Going down, the food is always great. It's hot, fresh, comes out fast, and of course, I always love saving the containers for later for another rainy day. It's definitely a nice takeout spot, but if you want to sit around and people watch, this would also be the spot right for you with large plate glass windows peeking out at the exciting 2nd Street view. What's not more to love than looking at people? Now, I didn't get a chance to use the bathroom, but there is one on-site just in case your stomach puts up a fight. I highly recommend the pink lemonade to pair with all of your food--it is homemade. I do recommend this spot for some good Americanized Chinese food.
