The steamed dumplings are the best I've tried anywhere in Pennsylvania. They're packed with meat and have so much flavor -- not the kind where you get a lot of dough and barely any filling. Even the dumpling sauce they include is delicious. It adds another layer of flavor without covering up the taste of the dumplings themselves. Their fried rice is also excellent, and Green Garden is the only place where I order extra egg rolls specifically to put in the refrigerator. Later in the week, I cut them up and heat them with the leftover fried rice, and it makes another great meal. We also really like the lemon chicken and boneless spareribs. The spareribs have excellent flavor, and it's rare to get a piece that has more fat than meat. That makes a big difference because I've ordered boneless spareribs from other places where far too much of the container ended up being fatty pieces I didn't want to eat. The lunch and dinner specials are reasonably priced, offer plenty of choices, and come with more than enough food. We've tried quite a few things from the menu and haven't found anything we didn't like. As good as the food is, the service may be what really sets Green Garden apart. Everyone is genuinely friendly, and special requests never feel like an inconvenience. The owner has an amazing memory, too. When we walk in, she recognizes us and remembers the little changes we sometimes request without us having to explain everything again. That kind of personal service is increasingly hard to find. The best recommendation I can give is that we drive about 25 minutes and pass several closer Chinese restaurants to come here. Green Garden is that good.
