We are new to the area and were looking for a staple Chinese takeout place. This isn't it. I had a hard time finding it because maps do not take you to the correct spot. This is next door to the goodwill in the plaza. I ordered online and wasn't able to pay in advance. I had no idea they charged an extra 4% for cards until I got there to pick up the food (not mentioned online anywhere), PLUS an extra service fee charged and I had already tipped 10% online. There's a sign on the register about a free two liter with $30 purchase, but I was ignored when I asked about it. My food was put on a table before I paid for it and I was ignored when I tried to double check that it was my order. It was chaotic inside with so many people in a tiny space. This cost me more than delivery with delivery fee and a tip from a really good Chinese place that is ~10 miles from us each way, but it wasn't as convenient for me to pick up on my way home from work which is why we tried somewhere closer to home. Big mistake. The crab rangoons are okay in terms of the filling, but ours were burnt and very crunchy. The sweet and sour sauce was okay. I was sad they didn't have honey chicken, so I went with the bourbon chicken since that was one of my favorite foods in our previous town. 0/10 - do NOT order. I have no idea what this was, but the sauce was too thick and congealed and the chicken tasted weird. I tried to check their google pics to make sure it looked similar to the kind I ordered before, and it did, but that's not what I received. The lo mein isn't terrible, but I definitely recommend getting it without veggies. I wasn't a fan. My fiancé liked his shrimp lo mein without veggies. The worst thing was the shrimp fried rice. It smelled so fishy and rancid as soon as I opened the container... terrible. The only saving grace and thing I'd ever go back for are the boneless spare ribs. The inside is still lined with plastic since the beginning of Covid. That doesn't bother me at all. But the food is just ok. The General Tso's is more of a glazed chicken. Flavor is just ok. Not even topped with sesame seeds. I'll only go here if I really want Chinese and I am feeling lazy. It's close and not horrible. Always a good deal for good Chinese food. Reasonable prices and a typical menu found in most restaurants. I like their lunch and dinner combo specials because they come with fried rice and an egg roll. They will allow substitutions of regular fried rice and veggie egg rolls. This is good for me being the non pork eater. The restaurant is small and is suited primarily for takeout, however there are about 10 tables. Cleanliness is not as good as it should be for a restaurant, but being a takeout place, I understand this. All in all good food and reasonable prices. read more

When you want super average, run of the mill American Chinese food, this is your spot. The steamed dumplings are good, as well as the sauce they come with. A lot of the meals feel like there's a lot of filler with breading on the chicken, or carrots and celery. The sauce is a bit too thick and not very flavorful. For my husband and I, we try to have Chinese food on New Years Day (as do most people) the only difficulty is that we are usually driving back from New Hampshire on the first of the year coming back from the holidays. Thanks to another Yelper, we stopped here for two reasons...1) they were right off the highway so it wasn't a far drive at all and 2) they offered dinner specials and were amenable to substitutions...so instead of pork fried rice and pork egg rolls, I could easily switch to veggie. And their portions were more than generous!!! We had so much food that we had dinner the next day as well! Oh and they have "cream cheese wontons" on the menu which was basically crab Rangoon's and they were yummy!!! The woman working there really wanted to argue with me over mei fun pronunciation telling me it's chow mein fun. I make this dish I know what it is. She insisted on being right and providing terrible customer service on more than one occasion. My wife decided to take a mini-vacation this past weekend and so my daughter and I had a daddy-daughter date night that included some Chinese Takeout at China Wok. Honestly, I didn't even know this place existed until I researched the area a little bit. We have been to Ho Wah, but with their recent and ridiculous changes to the menu I have been passively tasting other area Chinese restaurants. Although China Wok has its merits, I still have to say that China Tea House is still the clear-cut winner for Chinese food in this region. Food: Every time I try a new Chinese restaurant, I always order about the same thing. It allows me to judge a new restaurant against a baseline. As such, I ordered a General Tso Combination Platter (included fried rice, egg roll for 7.95) and some Boneless BBQ Ribs (I love these darn things!). Boneless Ribs: They were a little bit undercooked. I like mine when the outside gets a tiny bit of char on it, and the fat is fully rendered - kinda like bacon. If the fat in pork dishes is not fully rendered, then it ends up being a little bit chewy and gross. This was not in the 'gross' range, but it was close. General Tso: Unlike many of the other Chinese restaurants in the area, the coating on their chicken was not as crispy as I like. It was soggy. In terms of flavor, and if my taste buds are not mistaken, they put pineapple juice in their General Tso sauce. Not sure how I feel about that. It definitely deviates from what I am used to, and after careful consideration, I think that although this is unique and different; I would prefer that flavor not be in my General. The Pork Fried Rice was good. It was definitely under-seasoned, but included a lot of things that I love in a fried rice - bean sprouts being one of them! Also, there was a fair amount of pork in the rice. Also, they get points for actually having PORK fried rice included in the meal. So many places charge extra for the pork now. The egg roll was a disappointment. It was definitely homemade, but it similar flavors to that you would buy in the frozen department of a grocery store and cook yourself at home. It was not bad, but again, it differed from the flavor I was expecting / desiring. All of that said, everything seemed to be pretty fresh. Though, I am suspicious of the way they prepare their popular (volume) dishes. You know, the dishes that are most frequently ordered? I ordered my General Tso, and it was done 6 minutes later - during dinner rush. My assumption (and I hope I am wrong) is that they mass fry a huge batch of the chicken in preparation for their dinner hour, then hot-hold it, then toss it in whatever sauce the customer orders. This would explain several things. First, it would explain the soggy breading, and the impossibly fast fulfillment time of my order. No hard evidence, but just a guess... Food: 3 / 5 Service: Extremely fast. If you are looking for an extremely fast, prompt, efficient experience ... this is it. 6 minutes for my order. For me, expediency does not matter if the food is only mediocre. Service: 3 / 5 Atmosphere: For a Chinese TAKEOUT place, this was above average. It had a large seating area for those who wanted to eat-in. It had decent booths too. Usually, Chinese takeout restaurants have limited seating, and it is usually pretty uncomfortable. This was nice - contextually speaking. Atmosphere: 4 / 5 Price: For about $13.00, this food met expectation, but gets a bonus point for having pork fried rice as the standard - not just fried rice or white rice where the business then forces you to pay extra (usually a ridiculous cost) for pork. Price: 4 / 5 (3+1 for pork) Final Thoughts: For solid Chinese food that will quell your craving, this is a good choice in the area that will likely fill you up. For me though, I am still going to make the trip out to China Tea House when I am looking for some seriously good food and service. read more

My husband and I are thrilled to have finally found a really great Chinese restaurant! We have tried many and all fell shirt of expectations.
