This is definitely the best Chinese place in Wooster and at a very reasonable price. I have only dined in once and usually order take out but the service is speedy and the food is good. I always order a chicken dish, which is consistently good. I love the lady who runs the front - she is ALWAYS super nice. Like, ALWAYS. The sauce isn't too salty or greasy, so you actually feel like you're getting some nutrients. The only downside is speed - I normally have to wait 5 extra minutes when I pick up an order. I passed this place on the way home tonight and thought I would stop in to try it out. The lack of Yelp reviews for Chinese food in Wooster and my past experiences with Chinese food in Wooster tell me that people in Wooster don't really like Chinese food. It's probably because there isn't a single really good Chinese restaurant in Wooster...but I haven't tried them all yet. For the China Garden I found the staff to be supper friendly (5 stars) The prices were reasonable (4 stars, ~$7-8 a plate for dinner.) I ordered the sweet and sour pork, and the sesame chicken in the combination platters. What would you expect to come with a sweet and sour pork? Maybe start with some battered/fried pork, pineapple, carrots, celery, and onions, all swimming in a warm, cornstarch-thickened sweet and sour sauce. Well, This sweet and sour pork came with the pork and the sauce. Where are all of the other ingredients? Very disappointing! (1 star) The sesame chicken was much better. It was a little heavy and a bit on the salty side, but wasn't overwhelming. (3 stars) The fried rice was mediocre, and the spring rolls had a rancid flavor to them. Wooster, I wouldn't like Chinese food either if these restaurants were my only exposure to Chinese food. read more

I am visiting(from out of town) my mother in the Wooster Hospital, and because of the high reviews given on yelp, I stopped by to purchase food. I gave it a 2 star because it is clean. The food was a disappointment. I ordered the cashew nut chicken with pork fried rice and Hot -N- Sour soup. It also came with an egg roll, which was piping hot, but not much flavor. The cashew nut chicken had no flavor and the cashews were soft. The only thing that had flavor was the celery, green peppers and onions that were mixed with the cashew nut chicken The rice was yellow and also no flavor at all. Can't vouch for the other dishes, but this basic Chinese dish had no flavor at all. Not sure what all the fanfare and high scores given, but taste wise, it is a ONE star. Also, pretty pricey for cashew nut chicken and rice($7.75) The hot n sour soup was ok, I have had better, but it was ok. read more

If you want Chinese take-out for what it is, they nailed it here. I love the woman who works the counter. She has her son there doing school work or playing in the booths and it makes me smile. You can tell they're definitely all about the food. I love the Chicken LoMein here!! It's the best I've ever had! People say "oh you have to try real lomein" and I have, and this stuff is still better. Their teriyaki chicken is awesome too. And their location is nice, on Hamburger Hill. I've been going there for years, and they even remember me and already know what I want! One of my favorite places to eat out, for sure. read more

This newly opened restaurant (2011) is a gem. Small, tastefully decorated. Very clean. Eat in or Carryout. Tremendous variety of selections. Absolutely delicious food! Beautifully presented. The hot and sour soup was the best I've ever had - thick and hearty, even had crab and a variety of vegetables. The Lo Mein was super. The General Tso's was great. And the Shrimp with Lobster Sauce was great - the best I've ever had. The fried dumplings were great, too. The woman at the counter (an owner?) is a little shy, but is very engaging once you get to know her. I think this is by far the best Chinese restaurant in Wooster. read more

I reviewed this restaurant a little over 2 years ago. At that time, it was our favorite restaurant in town! Over the past year or so, we have noticed the lady (owner?) who serves and takes the orders has become less and less friendly and personable. She used to greet us warmly with a smile, deliver our food with pleasant remarks and check back on us mid-meal. We just ate there this afternoon and I was actually offended with her lack of friendliness. There was no friendly greeting, conversation or smile. She took our order and payment. She brought our food to our table. She did not speak to us at all, nor did she check on us after delivering the food. She didn't say anything when we left, as she used to in the past. Wh n I first noticed this change in her demeanor, I worried that she had some troubles that were causing her to be less friendly. As time has passed, I've begun to think that she simply does not enjoy her job! Whatever the reason for the drastic change, it makes us uncomfortable. It is such an opposite reaction than she used to have to us and other customers. Another thing I've noticed is smaller portion sizes and scrimping on some embellishments in the food. (Way less cashews in my Cashew Chicken today!)There is a new Chinese restaurant opening soon near this one. If their food is decent, they will probably get our future business! read more

I love this place! Excellent food, fast, friendly service and low prices. We've had moo shoo pork, boneless spare ribs, cashew chicken, Buddist delight, egg rolls, hot and sour soup and they were all excellent. But the sesame balls are fantastic!!! So good! Huge portions, too. Every time we're in Wooster, we eat here. Very clean, too. Don't pass up the chance to eat here. This is real Chinese food! read more

Food is okay but customer service is not. I am an international student coming from Asia. Every time (I am not kidding. Every single time) I go there, the staff/owner woman put up the face like I owe her something. She treats me like she is serving me because she has no choice. She is rude and never smiles at me at all. She even raised her voice at me a couple of times. Even when I asked very simple questions like what is in the dish, she acted totally impatient and looked at me like I was an idiot or something. Hey! of course, I need to know what I am ordering!! First, I thought she was just busy and didn't want to answer the question. But, even when her restaurant was bone dry empty, she was acting the same way. So, I avoid her restaurant as much as possible but, there are times I really miss Asian foods. I try to stick with the dish that I already know and like, and avoid trying new dishes so that I don't need to see the way she acts. In the most recent trip, I asked her sauce. She gave me impatient look and went back to get the sauce. When she came back, I decided to make another order for the take out. So, I made the order and she didn't listen to me. She clearly knew that I was talking to her. She gave me the same look again like "what do you want again?" . I couldn't believe what I saw. Even my friend (American) saw what happened and she was upset about that. The only time she smiled at me was when I went with my American friend. I try not to think that she has racial issues as I don't know how she treated to other non-Chinese Asian students. But, the way I was treated every single time, I have to try really hard not to think that way. read more
