Small town inexpensive lunch buffet. Friendly service! Interior appeared clean. The buffet offerings were far more varied than I anticipated. There are 2 separate steam tables and a cold table with salad / cold items. I needed a quick bite. This place was convenient and inexpensive. The parking lot reflected a decent amount of lunch traffic over the past couple weeks so figured why not. The quality was ok. A number of their versions of Americanized Chinese dishes were quite different than what I'm accustomed to. The salt and pepper chicken for example had a gritty sugary texture almost candied. It was quite surprising and off putting to me personally. The jalapeño chicken and mushroom chicken dishes were in virtually the same sauce exchange jalapeño for mushroom. I found a number of items had a sugar flavor almost as if they mistakingly used sugar in lieu of salt. Not my favorite. I've had worse! The server was very friendly and there were a few other items that were executed in what I would consider a more traditional manner for faux Chinese. It was a great value for quantity. Tastes like frozen food that has been microwaved and the workers were not nice. Also insanely expensive for the quality of the food. I spent so much less at a Chinese restaurant that had much better food last month. read more

China Gourmet is in an old building that definitely needs renovation. The staff does strive to maintain Covid codes. The food is middle of the road at best. Choices are minimal.. Flavor profiles are repetitive. Desserts are lacking flavor.. Cute idea having a small freezer where you can grab ice cream and sherbet cups which was a plus for them. The food was good. The place was decently clean. Where my problem is was with the service. We were in the middle our meal when the server came by and jabbed her finger down on the end of the table and demanded a tip. She had not even refilled any of our glasses. She was very rude to everyone in the restaurant when she was making table rounds. She done this to us a few more times. Needless to say she wasn't left anything. read more

I try not to write negative reviews, but I must take time out of my day to make this exception. The first item I tried was the boneless spareribs. The spareribs were nothing more than dry thinly sliced pork, the same pork used in all of the pork dishes. It is amazing that the pork was dry, because it came swimming in a red sauce that tasted like a blend of sweet and sour sauce and a generic barbecue sauce. Moving onto the second dish, beef lo mein. My complaint about this dish is they used spaghetti noodles and the dish was devoid of flavor. The third dish was the one bright spot, steamed dumplings. The dumplings Had great flavor and texture. The final item was the straw that broke the camel's back and made me write this review. The fortune cookie was crisp, but completely lacking flavor. It used to be the food was not bad, but this last time it was beyond horrible!. It was a take out order yet they pulled almost everything from the buffet line. Cold and over cooked. Ordered the scallops and beef. What we got was scallops and vegetables. NO beef at all!!! The fried dumplings were some flat old looking things. The coconut shrimp were hard pellets, very little sauce and uneatable. Asked for the 10% Senior discount and told that was for dine in only??? Does not say that ANYWHERE! Not sure if they are new owners or what but pretty sure if they continue to serve garbage they will be closing shortly. I had food delivered by Door Dash from China Gourmet. It was fantastic! Everything was delicious and really big portions. I loved it!

This is our favorite Chinese buffet restaurant in our area. There are other good ones around here but we are always pleased when dining at China Gourmet. read more

This was the first and absolute WORST eating experience in my family's life. Never have I felt so humiliated. I have a worker standing over my table as soon as I set down with my plate questing the amount on my plate. He made a huge scene and I was told we had to pay and leave. He said we got to much on our plate, it is an ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET!!!! My husband and daughter and I ate 2 bites and were made to pay and leave. The manager proceeds to call the police!!!!!!!!!!!!!Might I add that my husband is black and this is the most racist place I have ever eatin. We are respectful had working people that were treated HORRIBLY. God bless them and the type of people we allow in this country as business owners. Pathetic. read more

my sister wanted to meet up with me my husband and four kids for lunch. we met there. most the food isnt good. The rice was extremely dry and some of it tasted old. I found something that was good that I ate. We left and within a hour my sister called me saying she felt bad and asked if I did I said no. a little later my oldest (6yrs) started puking everywhere. As soon as she did all hell broke loose. My son poop himself 2 times and it was pure liquid. He threw up atleast 3 times. My daughter that's three started saying her belly hurt and within mins of saying she started puking. Needless to say it was coming out of both ends over here all night long. This morning isn't so bad but I guess bc there's nothing else for us to poop or throw up but I know my stomach is so sore from puking so much. Please be careful where you eat. When posted about it another couple who ate there same day also was sick! read more
