Shrimp in lobster sauce
Gretchen R.

The girls and I were in town for shopping and wanted to try a new place for lunch. We had seen this restaurant before, but hadn't stopped yet. We were pleasantly surprised. I couldn't eat all the jumbo shrimp on my shrimp and lobster sauce with white rice. The baby happily munched on them. She learned to use chopsticks to eat with while we were here. The place is small, but the open floor keeps it from feeling cramped. It's also brightly lit. The empty fishtank is rather sad, especially when it's the first thing you see when you open the door.

All breading on the left

This was 26 days ago, so today's review will be after this: Don't get me wrong, the food tastes good. But, the fried rice we got was really dry and undercooked and the meals we got were about 3/4 veggies and 1/4 meat. After paying $12 a meal, we would expect a little better than this. We only ordered from here because our regular place was closed and we needed a Chinese food fix. Very disappointed. Today's review, 4/30/20 WT-? Orange beef. More like 99% breading with a teeny, tiny piece of beef if your lucky, in each piece. I have never, ever had orange beef with a thick breading like this. And yes, pics are included. The sauce, I have no idea wth it is, but it's not orange. The old man got Shrimp dish, maybe 8 shrimp in it. Rice dry and undercooked, again. This is pretty much our only choice for Chinese food right now (sorry Charlie Chen, my other half didn't like the food), so next time everyone in this house wants to order from China One, I can guarantee you that I'll be ordering Mexican from Latino's instead. The owners of this business should be ashamed of themselves. Next day edit: The old man finally admitted their food sucks and said we won't order from there ever again. Finally!

I ordered 3 lunch platters all identical chicken and broccoli with WHITE rice and received 3 with fried rice. The establishment did not have a delivery driver.but yet they advertise delivery.what kind of foolishness is this? 1/10 don't recommend.and as someone who orders takeout frequently im highly disappointed. The workers are extremely rude. Also offering terrible customer service,I was appalled with the establishment.

I have always loved China one in DuBois, but I recently found a cockroach/bug in my food. I figured that it may have maybe been bad luck that a bug had flown into my food. Today, I figured that I would give it another chance and found another in my lo mein. Wouldn't recommend ordering until this issue is solved...

Pretty much just average Chinese food. Not amazing but good enough to satisfy your craving for Chinese food. They do give large portions.

It is the best Chinese food in town. It has the typical Chinese restaurant menu. Consistently good quality and flavor.

It was my second and last time there. Do not waist your money. I can't even think on how to describe the lobster. It was sickening and inedible. So nasty. Over cooked the point the meat looked like shredded yellow cotton balls. The tails were so mushy I was afraid to try them. Just over all nasty. Causes of black mushy and stringy lobster. I googled this. I should have taken a picture as well. 7 How to Kill, Cook, and Shell a Lobster | The Food Lab A black, soft, mushy lobster usually means it's not fresh, potentially dead before cooking, overcooked, or diseased (Epizootic Shell Disease), especially if it has a foul smell; if it's just a new molt with a thin shell, it's normal but watery, but the mushiness and black color point to spoilage or illness, so it's best to discard it to avoid food poisoning, as the meat breaks down quickly after death. Reasons for Mushy Meat & Black Color Death Before Cooking: If a lobster dies in the tank, its stomach releases enzymes that rapidly break down the meat, causing it to become mushy and discolored. Spoilage: A dead lobster can start to spoil within an hour, leading to that texture and off-color. Epizootic Shell Disease (ESD): A bacterial/fungal infection that makes shells soft and black, often fatal to the lobster. Improper Handling/Thawing: Rapid thawing in hot water or keeping it too long after purchase can cause issues. Undercooked Roe: Black, jelly-like spots inside can be undercooked roe (eggs), which should be red, requiring more cooking or discarding if questionable. This video shows how to identify a lobster that has recently molted:
