The Rising Phoenix - Spice bag and curry sauce with can of Coke for 8 Euro! A bargain and super tasty.

I had ordered the usual spicebags, 3 in 1's, chicken balls, house special curry etc. from here on…read morenumerous occasions and it was all great! I came here to try their all you can eat dinner menu and I left feeling unbelievably disappointed. The good things about the all you can it is.... -It's all you can eat. -Curry sauce is great. -3 beers for €11.50 The bad things! -Some truly AWFUL dishes. Thai curries in particular. Pretty gross. -Not very comfortable. -Bright lighting. -BAD music. -No one asked if everything was OK. -No one seems to want you to actually order as much as you want. I think we were asked once if we needed anything else. €17 all you can eat. You might think this is a great deal if you want to stuff your face. I guess it possibly is if you stick to certain dishes and gorge yourself. But in all honesty I would rather pay for just a good quality main and starter and really enjoy the experience. If you want to order a spicebag or a 3 in 1 however this place is a good un.

Can't praise this place enough - myself and 15 friends ate here tonight and we had a great time…read more The amount of food ordered was crazy (what do you expect in an all you can eat restaurant??) but the waitresses were efficient and quick, and our food was quick, piping hot and tasty. I've eaten here before a few times in smaller groups and found it to be the same - and even though it's all you can eat, it's freshly cooked to order so no lukewarm food in overhandled dishes! Price wise, it's ridiculously reasonable - for 16 of us including drinks it came to 360e - 25e each which, considering the amount we ate, was for next to nothing! A definite favourite of mine, I'll definitely be back for group nights!

Loved the vibes of this place and the wait staff, though incredibly busy, still made the time to make sure we had everything we needed as food was delivered to our table. We can honestly say we did not have one bad bite of food. To our surprise, the Spice Bag was the thing we thought was the least impressive of the bunch. Still very good, but everything else was so much better. Wish there was a little more chicken in it. The Pan Fried Dumplings were maybe some the best we ever had. Do not skip the Cucumber Salad, this dish is incredibly underrated. The Chicken Satay was very good, not sure if I would get it again. The Thai Basil Beef was a stunner! Huge flavor bomb! In fact, do not skip any beef dish they have. The Crispy Chili Chicken was the best part of a Spice Bag, without the fries. The Duck Wings had amazing flavor, wished they were served a bit hotter. Everything I am mentioning as a criticism is slight and minor FYI. If we ever come back to Dublin, we are coming straight here! Also, do not sleep on their cocktail menu! Amazing drinks!

We ordered their homemade dumplings which was boiled dipped in a special soy sauce. Veggies, beef, seafood, pork were all very good. Saw many folks ordering their hotpot which essentially is a boiling clay pot with veggies and your choice of protein . Tea and beer were reasonable. Simple decor and just table and chairs laid out. I do recommend this place if you're looking for delicious Chinese food without breaking the bank!

Best genuine Chinese we've had in Dublin. Heck, it's probably up there too if it were in LA…read more We were famished after a 2.5 hr movie at the Savoy on O'Connell and Chinese places were the only ones still open at 10:30pm. It's what we would've wanted anyway, but by the time we walked over, it was 10:45. There was only 1 other table still there and we were still greeted warmly, as we sheepishly popped our head in. We were presented with Chinese menus, which were not an issue for me, but my husband doesn't read Chinese. No problem, they had English menus as well. I noticed that the Chinese menu had a lot of 家常菜 or 'homestyle dishes', (at roughly 14-20 Euros) which are usually meant for sharing as a 4-top, or a family. Therefore, they're a bit more labor intensive and is not just a stir-fry/takeout menu. However, on the last few pages, there were smaller individual dishes at around 7-10Euros, and that's what we went with as we didn't want leftovers and wanted to eat quickly and turn in. As shown in the photos, we got 2 noodle soups and they turned out huge!!! I got the 3 seafood with mushrooms rice thick noodles (三鮮菇米線)while hubby got the beef noodle soup (牛肉麵). They didn't skimp on the meats, seafood, or the noodles. We devoured everything in roughly 10 minutes and polished off the pot of tea plus some lamb skewers by 11:05. The staff didn't seem bothered that we had overstayed closing time, and were still very courteous. I may be biased bc I very much love getting stuffed on noodles and soups, but this was one of the best meals I've had in Europe.
