This place is pretty awesome and literally in the middle of nowhere! We were up this way picking up my niece for the weekend and we had a hankering for some Chinese food. Everything is homemade and their dipping sauces for the egg rolls were really good. The egg rolls were a bit greasy for my liking but they were really good. The hot and sour soup was super unique. There was a ton of veggies and the broth was thick like an egg drop soup. The flavor was spot on and it was super filling. Every meal you want can be made into a combo with fried rice and an egg roll, all you need to do is ask. I ended up getting the twice cooked pork for my main meal and I asked them to add mushrooms. It was nice and spicy and had great flavor. Adrienne ended up having the princess pork and it was equally as delicious. Great job! read more

We ordered sweet and sour chicken, general Tso chicken and 2 egg rolls. This is possibly the worst Chinese food I've ever had. The pineapple in the sweet and sour chicken had gone bad and fermented. It tasted like alcohol. Both egg rolls were burnt. Not just burnt but completely charred. We will not be back. read more

At 7:15 Sunday night we placed 2 orders of sweet & sour chicken and 1 egg roll. I waited for the order and it only took about 10 minutes to fill. The egg roll was laying in a puddle of grease in a paper-like container. The wrapper of the egg roll was translucent due to so much grease. The white rice had some slightly browned areas in the center of the container. The sweet & sour chicken was terrible. It tasted and looked like it had been made a couple days ago. The carrots were burned in places and the sweet & sour sauce looked more like ketsup. Nothing was wrong with the breaded chicken other than much of it was difficult to cut into bite-sized pieces. The only good part of the meal, if it had been edible, was that the amount provided was double the usual amount found in other restaurants. I don't see how China Rose has stayed in business so long. read more

As a kid, they would give us free ice water, no questions asked (riding BMXs far from home). They are super nice, so I hate to say it - I don't like the food. SO nice, but no. Maybe it's actual authentic Chinese, which we Westerners can't appreciate. I don't know. Ordered moo goo gi pan...left a lot to be desired. There were no vegetables in it except a couple of mushrooms, a million water chestnuts, and some insides of a vegetable that I could not identify. This is the only thing I ever order when eating Chinese and this is bottom of the list. We just moved here and are disappointed. Will not go back. read more

We live nearby and had a friend recommend this restaurant as his favorite for chinese. We ordered the Combo Lo Mein and Great Wall Egg Rolls only to find out once we were home that the Combo Lo Mein was made with rice instead of lo mein noodles. We were not thrilled. Their egg rolls were okay though. To sum it all up, we won't be eating from here again! I can, and have, made my own homemade Chinese that turned out much better than this tough, multi-day old food. read more

I ordered through Grub Hub and was charged for 2 orders but only got one...restaurant refused to reimburse me or make it right in any way...they told me to take it up with Grub Hub who doesn't take phone callsso stuck with the double charge I guess. In town for business. Remembered seeing this place for years so thought it must be good. Oops Came in Friday at 1:30 for lunch. I was only customer. Egg roll tasty but almost burnt and mushy filling. Water ran out of mustard bottle. Kung Pao Chicken spiciest I've ever had. Looked like cayenne pepper on peanuts. Chicken sliced very thin. However it had an unusual but tasty brown sauce. Hot tea was single Lipton bag in 1 quart pot. Will be trying other restaurants next time I'm in Findlay. read more

it was really good years ago... i tried sour chicken and orders 2 egg rolls. 1 sweet and sour soup. 1 order of won tons.. well i go to pick it up.... got home iin 5 minutes. well everthing was cold!!!! nit only thing they sold me 3 egg rolls.. 2 soups 2 orders of won tons.. 3 soups. the chicken was so tuff i tried a knife to cut it??? egg rolls were discussing absolutely no meat of any type... won tons very hard and over cooked.. atlast the soup was really good!!!!! was going to call and compain but wife said nooooo.. a ave your hard eared money and go some where that has decent food.. i can't figure out how they stay in business??? read more

This place was honestly 100% the absolute worst restaurant that I've ever been to....Asian or otherwise. My son and I ordered the barbecue rib appetizers and it was literally deep fried pork neck bones so hard that you couldn't bite it...coated on Kraft bbq sauce. We ate none of it and they wouldn't take it off of our bill for us. My son got the pork fried rice and it was swimming in oil because they took already fried rice and threw it in oil with bits of tough pork strips. I got the pork chow mein, which promised lots of bean sprouts but when it arrived, it had none.....just huge chunks of undercooked cabbage and celery floating in a disgusting overly sweet sludge of cornstarch and chicken stock, with tough, chewy strips of overcooked pork. read more

I live in Forest and do all my shopping in Findlay. After driving by China Rose many times on my way home, I finally decided to bring home an order of takeout as Chinese food is my absolute favorite. This was the absolute WORST food- of any kind- we have ever had. The soups were creamy (weird creamy) - wonton soup is not supposed to be creamy. The egg rolls were in a bag (pretty standard) that had at LEAST an inch of oil in it. The bottom egg roll was soaked in oil. The BBQ ribs were chewy and old; in fact, everything tasted VERY old, in texture as well as flavor. The oil they used seemed inappropriate and old. I don't think they change their fryers often and don't use the right oil for their wok. At any rate, the lo mien and empress chicken we ordered were just inedible. Everything had a weird aftertaste to it. Which is ironic because there was no flavor to anything! Considering that this food was not cheap, I can't believe they expect anyone to eat this. Or that the Health Department hasn't shut them down. Do yourself a favor. If you pass by this place..... Keep driving. read more

My wife and I stopped in for supper last night. I ordered hot and sour soup and empress chicken with fried rice; my wife ordered broccoli shrimp with steamed rice. We both sampled from each other's meals, and we are in complete agreement: this is the worst Chinese food we've ever had. The broccoli shrimp was okay; all we can say about its flavor is, "Meh." However, the soup was not recognizable as hot and sour soup. There was no hot to it at all, and though we detected some sour, it was otherwise pretty much tasteless. The empress chicken was so bad I couldn't even eat half of it. I took the fried rice home because my wife's favorite breakfast is to toast leftover fried rice in a skillet, then crack an egg over it. She did that for breakfast this morning, and as soon as she put the rice in the skillet she wrinkled up her nose. "Ew, that smells terrible." She went ahead and continued, and it tasted as bad as it smelled--maybe even worse. Was the oil they cook their food in rancid? We don't know. But there was a bad flavor to the rice and to my empress chicken that lingered long after the meal was over. I will say some good things about the restaurant: it appeared to be clean, and the server was sweet and helpful. Our meals came out quickly, but that might be because there were no other customers. (And now we know why!) We're sorry for the server for having to work there so I left her a good tip, but we're still trying to get the bad taste of that food out of our mouths. read more

China Rose is a wonderful Chinese restaurant on Main Street on the south side of Findlay. We have eaten here many times and I am never disappointed with the quality, taste, and portions! I usually get the sweet and sour chicken or pork with fried rice and egg rolls. Their egg rolls are the lightest, tastiest, and most wonderful that I have ever eaten! i have been going to this restaurant for probably 20 years. they have possibly the best egg rolls in town. they have the thin flaky shells and filled with well something that tastes great. the only thing that i normally order from any asian restaurant is shrimp fried rice and almond boneless chicken and those taste delicious. many others i have taken there have gotten other things and enjoyed them as well. also try the shrimp rumaki. read more

My family and I have been going to China rose restaurant for years and absolutely love it! Their almond boneless chicken dish is the best I have ever had anywhere! The owners are very nice and attentive when it comes to customers, and believe in family values. Anytime I am in Findlay i always crave China roses food and have always been satisfied. After living away from Findlay for several years, I stopped in at China Rose on Saturday night with a friend. Had a great time. Our server was friendly and helpful. Even though there was a party going on in a corner, the service was quick and efficient. I've only had good food at China Rose, and this was no exception.
