    'wonton soup' #1
    Nicola P.

I'm not happy with this place for 2 main reasons: the "wonton soup" is Terrible & they don't use real chili's in their spice dishes, just hot sauce, which is Really Disappointing!! The wonton soup is laughable as it's just matted, heated up wonton wrappers! The meat in the wontons is non-existent & when I called BC I was upset, they told me they would be giving me new & better wonton soup- but it was The. Same. Exact. Matted. Mess. If I wanted a bowl of wonton wrappers, I could easily boil them at home myself - not pay money for it. I Love Wonton Soup & have had some off the Best in Chicago (Chinatown & Beyond) & this was Beyond Terrible!! My Second Pet Peeve about this place is the fact that real Chinese chilies ARE NOT used in preparing the hot & spicy dishes, but instead, a generic hot sauce is used (from packets given as condiments on the side) which adds Nothing of flavor & heat to the dishes. This is sad & again, disappointing!! We ordered a few items from this place on 2 different occasions & most items were just meh - tasting like overpriced reheated frozen dishes I could get at the grocery store & mess up at home!! The vegetable fried rice is a bland, mushy & an off-putting dull yellow in color. Egg Rolls - thr egg rolls were greasy & hard on the outside. Both the BBQ ribs & Boneless BBQ ribs were burnt & chewy, like beef jerky. The Cream Cheese Wonton were over-fried with very little filling (again- the issue seems to be filled items here are not filled at all.) The pan-fried wontons had a lot of filling, but were super greasy. The pork & beef lo mein dishes were super greasy & salty. The beef with broccoli had super soft broccoli (and a random carrot *non-existent quality control*) & we wanted to try beef with snow peas but instead got beef & broccoli AGAIN the 2nd time with no explanation why...) The Sesame Chicken & Salt/Pepper chicken were both 90% fried soggy batter & not much flavor. The salt/pepper chicken was not hot & spicy at all. The General Tso's Shrimp was another over bartered soft plate, with a sweet jelly glazed sauce (not spicy at all/ just goopy.) The seafood delight had over salty imitation crab & soft overcooked shrimp. The Hunan Pork wasn't hot/spicy and the veggies were hard & undercooked. I wanted to like the Szechuan Chicken really bad, since Szechuan is one of my Favorite Flavor Profiles *EVER* but there was no flavor at all & the veggie to chicken ratio was way off as there was barely any chicken!! They did give free fried Chinese donuts but globs of fried dough just didn't work for us. They were also covered with some sugar/salt, so I'm not sure what that was about- I think maybe just a 'salt-for-sugar' mistake. Gross. I gave this place 2 tries & shame on me for that! We won't be back.

Misunderstood the menu. Thought chow mein would be noodles. It was bean sprouts...flavor on other food ordered was good.

All I have to say is run! Don't go. Had a horrible lunch experience here with my kids. Some of…read morethe food was warm and not hot, it was definitely below what the inspector would allow had he been called that day. This means you could get sick easily from food that's been sitting out for who knows how long at the wrong temperature. It was nearly $70 ($66.19) for me plus 3 kids with drinks...I was not prepared for it to cost that much. Most Chinese buffets are like $15 for adults and $7-8 for kids with a kids drink. I had sticker shock when I got the receipt. The food wasn't good and it was overpriced. The ambience...if you like old dudes who watch political YouTube videos on their phone while they dine at max volume then this is the place for you! It wasn't just one, but two of them!! It was so loud and obnoxious I couldn't even try to enjoy the terrible food. The staff said nothing to them as if it was acceptable normal behavior and maybe it is for this place. I'm positive one of them was using a bluetooth speaker. I took a video of it because I was in disbelief. Skip the Chinese food and go to CJ Maggies or somewhere where better behaved diners gather and get better food at around the same price or less.

Located in a strip mall the outside is very plain, but inside is nicely decorated if a bit dated. The buffet had good variety if not huge, no sushi, but salad setup, hot food and limited desserts. For me as a pescatarian, there was a nice selection of seafood, including stirfried seafood, crystal shrimp, baked krabstick and fish fillets. The food was tasty and well prepared; nothing really fancy, but nicely seasoned. Overall not exceptional, but good and a reasonable value at $12.95 for dinner. A nice option to grab a decent meal at a good price and fill up.

Grand China Buffet Sushi & Grill. Clarksburg, WV. March, 2026. Craving Chinese food, four of us…read more(all adults) decided to check out the Grand China Buffet. It turned out to be a great choice for our group as we have very distinct eating preferences. The basis of MY meal was primarily the Mongolian grill, wherein you choose your own raw ingredients (meats, shrimp/crab, vegetables), noodles, and sauces, that are then freshly stir-fried on a gigantic grill by the grill-master. There was a good selection of meats and seafood, but I would've liked to have seen a wider variety of vegetables -- to include, for instance, carrots, water chestnuts, spinach, mini corn ears, etc. My selection was stir-fried perfectly (with meats well-cooked and veggies crisp tender), and the amount of sauce complemented rather than over-whelmed the dish. A second member of our group piled up, again and again, on seafood choices (and frog legs!) from the numerous buffet stations. The two other members of our party sampled a bit of everything, except the American choices. Grand China offers a large selection of Chinese entrees, noodles/rice, salads, sushi, the Mongolian grill, soups, some dim sum, desserts, and even ice cream. Did we love every dish? No. Did every member of our group find food choices that they enjoyed? A resounding yes. The restaurant is open 7 days per week, and was clean and busy. There's free and plentiful parking. The hostess and waitress were efficient and friendly enough. The dinner buffet ($14.99 per adult, or $1.20/year for kids aged 4-10 years) was a great value given the variety of food choices and the fact that it is all-you-can-eat. One recommendation to the restaurant. Please add sesame balls!
