This is the absolute best park!…read more It's like a treasure chest of a park for kids but also so scenic that adults will love it also. Lots of spots to explore in a perfect setting. There are books and crannies kids will love and also a large grassy area for relaxing or running around. I especially liked the amount of somewhat shady spots which is great for small children. The dog beach is about a 5-minute walk from the parking lot, and the trail is very well marked. The weather was great, so there were lots of dogs there enjoying the water. There are changing facilities and restrooms available near the parking lot, but not on the beach, so keep that in mind. Recently went to Richmond Park for a birthday party in their picnic pavilion. I don't think I'd…read moreever been to this park before, and it's really nice. It's huge, with a big pond, two playgrounds, tennis courts, pool, basketball court, picnic tables, table tennis table, and more. I think people sled at this park in the winter, too! The pavilion was really nice, with attached bathrooms, a prep area, fridge, tables, and chairs. The space was a good size for the party of 30 people or so. The parking lot is a short walk from the pavilion. I liked the patio area overlooking the pond, and all the kids at the party loved the playgrounds! There was a grassy area outside where we set up cornhole. It's $45 per hour to rent the pavilion, with a minimum of 2 hours. Not bad! I'm so glad we got to experience this park and would definitely come back to relax and go for a walk!

It just has everything. ⁣ ⁣ Tons of shade on the play equipment, swings, a basketball court, splash pad, and a big open area to walk around, play and even just to sit on the benches and enjoy the sounds and sights of our beautiful earth. ⁣ ⁣ It's a great spot for kids (or adults, we won't judge ) to run and even kick a ball around! We love the parent and child swings although one of them are super squeaky. There was so much to do with this park. We saw people playing basketball on the super nice courts. We saw disc golfers. They were other kids at the playground, even at dusk. It was very close to a residential neighborhood, but everybody seems super nice. I think there was a dog park too? It was huge so we didn't explore the park very much because it was dusk and we needed the kids to get some energy out. There is a fee of $8/day, and there are options for a county park pass for $25/year, totally worth it if you're local or planning to stay for several days. This was my Monday-Thursday beach because the weekends were bananas with crowds/parking woes, even in the evenings. If the lot is full, there are signs that designate where folx can park along the road. However, once that is filled up, I don't recommend parking beyond the bounds. I witnessed the local county sheriff issuing parking tickets more than once. Outside of the glorious beach and Lake Michigan swimming, Windsnest has well-kept bathrooms, rinsing station, and a playground. This is definitely a popular spot for families.
