Chip City @ Esplanade at Aventura

I had the Strawberry cream cookie and as always they're ginormous LOL! I'm not a big cookie person. But, this is outrageously good. It's like a cookie/croissant combo I believe w/strawberry jelly and frosting w/sprinkles (I have to go to the website again to see exactly what it was and if I got it right LOL; not overly sweet, which is probably why I like it so much. And, when you bite into it, you get an everything bite and the rest of the cookie remains intact-A big plus Ha! Ha! Additionally, the store is absolutely gorgeous and the counter service person was so nice; she was engaging & sweet. Both employees were really nice! I'll definitely be back

Banana pancake croissant cookie, triple chocolate cookie and cookies and cream cookie

I want to start by saying the staff was very nice and knowledgeable about the prices and each cookie and the store itself was very clean. Unfortunately the cookies were awful. The worst offender was the banana pancake croissant cookie. In no way did this taste like banana or a pancake. Instead it was a very tough croissant with a large chewy glob of cream, which I assume was the banana portion of it. It's served with a container of syrup, which absolutely doesn't go with it. The triple chocolate cookie was tasteless and the cookies and cream (I had high hopes for) was dry, lacking in taste and needed a pinch of salt to balance it. It just tasted sweet, but still not any real flavor. The silver lining is that it doesn't have that nauseating artificial taste crumbl has, nor is it as sickly sweet so that was a plus. For nearly $4 after tax per cookie, these are definitely not worth it.

Sorry the phone didn't eat first. Assortment of cookies!

Thanks to another regular Yelper who visits here more often than we care to admit, I got to check…read moreout La Boulangerie in Aventura after a reformer class that definitely earned me a bite of their ever so delicious bakery treats. Since that first visit, I've already been back... and now I've made hubby a fan. Not just of the treats I kept bringing home, but of the whole experience. We've been seated quickly every time, and the menu is straightforward with monthly breakfast and dinner specials to keep things interesting. Their July breakfast absolutely hit it out of the park for me. The eggs were nice and creamy, paired with fresh tomatoes, thinly sliced and salted avocado, cottage cheese drizzled with EVOO and micro greens, and fresh sourdough breadsticks. It may sound like a simple plate which, I admit, it is, but when you work out as much as I do, you learn to appreciate a meal that's high in protein, fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. This checked every box and easily became my jam even to duplicate at home. Now, onto the bakery...Hubby's current obsessions are the pistachio and chocolate almond croissants. They're generously sized, and they are not stingy with the filling. I have a feeling that's exactly why the bakery counter is constantly buzzing with takeout bags and pickup orders. I also have to give their coffee some love. I usually try coffee black (or with just a touch of sugar) because I actually want to taste it, and their Americano was singing to me with its rich aroma, and smooth flavor. Needless to say, this has become one of my top breakfast spots. I even signed up for their rewards program, which means I'll happily be cashing in my $15 birthday reward... though let's be honest, I'll probably be back several times before then.

We were so excited to try this place. As soon as we walked in, the restaurant smelled amazing, and…read morethe warm, inviting décor made a great first impression. The food came out quickly and tasted ok--nothing special. Unfortunately, the service didn't match the quality of the food. Our server never smiled, and it wasn't just with our table; we noticed the same interaction with other guests as well. There was no greeting, no check-in during the meal, and the service felt like it was simply taking our order and coming back with the check. The food was enjoyable, but the lack of hospitality really affected the overall experience. Sadly, we probably won't be back.
