The incredible fresh seafood, many still gasping from their very recent plucking from their watery home. Vegetables so unbelievably fresh and beautiful. Spices. They were my main purchase this day. Why bother to fix true Spanish dishes unless you have a great selection of the appropriate spices. Spain, all the devine jamòn. Legs of various aging just waiting to be sliced just for you. Fresh meats that will have your head spinning- I don't know what to cook first. When traveling always check out the local market. Many stalls will offer samples to try. Other have items that can be prepared to travel home with. Some purchases just may not make it out the door they are so delicious. One last tip- go early in the morning 7-8 am for the best selection. Simmered in buttery sauce with parsley, these tiny clam lookalike coquinas tasted marvelous. We also had fried fresh white anchovy (Boquerones), which tasted crazy good. It was lightly fried, and the texture was almost fluffy soft. And for only 5 euros, how could I ever find faults with this wonderful dish?!?! We ordered 5 tapas and 3 glasses of wine, and the total bill came down to 42.50 euros. I LOVE SPAIN. The owner seems to love Hollywood movies, as the restaurant was decorated with pictures of famous Hollywood actors, actresses and movies.
