Nearly 9 years later I recently began looking around Lancaster for adjustment work and found Wenger Chiropractic. From my initial consult through our followup sessions I've found Dr. Hollinger to be concerned, compassionate, lighthearted and above all professional. We went there for my partner/love of my life who was a forklift driver and did severe heavy lifting on a daily basis and has had back problems for years. The first chiropractor we tried Lebanon was horrible, he's some kind of a new machine that Zapps you, Using the electric shock or some thing. Didn't work. The chiropractor obviously thought the new technology would be better than using the old hands on approach which always works better. At Wenger chiropractic group The doctor is so friendly and so hands-on. I was so impressed on how much knowledge he showed and how well he cracked and worked on my man's back. Dr. Barry offers both manual manipulation, as well as more technical stuff, using different machines, etc. and typically has a masseuse in the office to do therapeutic massage - just be sure to call ahead to schedule a massage. I tend to prefer manual manipulation, and I have not tried the alternatives at his practice. One thing that really stood out to me relative to other practitioners was that he measured my physiology (i.e. the geometry of my arms, legs, neck, head, jaw etc.) at the first visit. We discussed my lifestyle and WHY I am out of alignment in specific areas. This empowered me to address areas outside of visits where my lifestyle was causing me to alter the geometry of my body, and in response I focused on changing my posture which was putting undue strain on muscles, bones, and joints. I like that he offers manual manipulation, which I call "the old school way" it gets the satisfying crack and gives me the instant gratification of feeling a big difference between before and after. Now I stand straighter, keep my shoulders back, and have arranged my desk to keep myself from hunching over a computer screen.
