Being an athletic individual (I run, bike, row and go to yoga) with a high stress career, my back hurt a lot. I'm picky about my chiropractors - I don't like it when I get a "one size fits all" adjustment that is purely a spinal adjustment. Dr. Matt and Dr. Toney take the time to listen to what hurts and if I point out something during the adjustment they make appropriate changes/provide additional tissue work to alleviate my pain. Both have given me stretches, advice on how to ensure the issue doesn't happen again, and overall health and wellness advice - I sleep better and feel much better. After the first visit, over a year ago, I felt way better. We went from weekly visits, to every two weeks, to once a month (which I'll continue to do as long as my insurance continues to cover the visits). It is easy to get a visit scheduled on short notice if something comes up that I need taken care of right away. I have been suffering for almost a year with unexplained pain. You name the specialist or the test and I have had it done from mri, neurologist, Mulriple ER visits only to have them tell me here are some drugs for pain have a good day. I have seen Dr. Matt only 3 times and I am seeing an almost 50% turn around. I have been to many chiropractors and am family with what happens at a traditional apt.....whack em crack em.....this does not happen here I would say they are very alternative and progressive to therepitic treatments.... Matt took time to listen to my issues gave it thoughtful consideration and came up with a plan for me to solve my pain. From heat and stem therapy to pressure point almost deep massage like manipulation of muscles.... If you have real issues and want relief I would give these guys a try. I have to agree with what Stephanie wrote. I have been athletically active all my life, including power lifting, long distance cycling, and running several marathons. I have had a LOT of body work, and specifically, due to relocations, have seen almost a dozen chiropractors over the past 20 years, and at least a few of them I considered GREAT, and some are still friends. Never have I encountered a practitioner as committed and willing to get "down in it", as Dr. Matt. The multi-modality approach, in my case electrostim, heat, massage, adjustment, PNF stretching, traction, etc. has been spectacularly effective for me, and I feel better, am sleeping better, and as a result, feel that I am in better shape due to being out of pain, de-stressed, and well rested. I found Chiropractic Wellness Associates online when I needed a chiropractor in PA. I was in a lot of pain, my lower back, neck, shoulders and hip were hurting. Absolutely amazing. Dr. Tony was so wonderful and extremely helpful. I walked into his building and was blown away at how beautiful and serene it was (still under construction, but still gorgeous). I was then greeted by the head of hospitality (Shelby the Dog). Dr. Tony was attentive and really seemed like he cared about my well-being and wanted me to get back to feeling great again. Dr. Tony and Dr. Matt are really great at what they do. Weather you are in pain or not, they take their time and make you feel great before you leave. They were trained using the best techniques from Chiropractic College of New York where they learned all about whole body wellness. They use techniques like trigger point therapy, hot packs, tens and massage and stretching. This isn't a one shop shop where you only get an adjustment.
