The library is located just outside of North Branch next to the North Branch Fire Department. The…read morelibrary is organized well and is very clean all the time. There are two private study rooms and a room you can sign up to use for events. The restrooms are single stalls and clean. A kids area and a teen area are both provided. There is also an adults area and magazines. For those needing to use internet, there are computers as well as free Wi-Fi. Last but certainly not least, the staff is awesome. I can not say enough about them. They are always super friendly and most have been working there for quite some time. Overall, I give this library 5 stars because of the staff.

Don't miss the entrance! That's also where you go to return books. They have a great kids section with its own kid restroom! A young mom must have. They have a cute room for a monthly arts and craft area...this month it's a pretend ice cream shop. Maybe we go here too often but the selection of young kid books isn't as robust. They also always have a monthly scavenger hunt for the kiddos with a sticker surprise. They also have a cool magna-tiles light up table. And a cute check out area in the kids section. Summer hours on the weekends are not as frequent as the winter due to the nice weather.

I was charged two weeks running for a "damaged book"...both were by the same publisher and both…read morewere very cheap paper stock, not much better than newsprint, and every book in their collection by this publisher has bad bindings that crack and lose pages as soon as you opened them. Library charged $28+ per paperback for "replacement", when factually neither book was seriously damaged. Maybe they should buy better quality books, since presumably they could expect more than one or two people might want to read them before they fell completely apart? I will never visit this library location again and will go back to Covid protocol of buying used books on-line at places like thriftbooks.com and then donating them to a charity shop for re-sale after I've read them. Funniest part of this story? This library branch WAS included in my will for a significant inheritance because for 28 years I have loved this library and visited at least once a week....not so much anymore. Kiss that 20K goodbye Osceola Library because now that will be added to the amount willed to St. Jude.

Due to Covid restrictions, there are less activities being offered but I did not inquire about the iLab that is there. There is a "Calming Room" for autistic people, which is very inclusive and needed. I'm glad that the DCL includes this service.

When I got my card after moving to Hudson, I knew life would get better and it did. Staff was friendly from the get go but during the lockdown, their calls and efforts to get me my books is even more appreciated. You know they are working overtime for what is not the world's highest paying job. The building is nice although I don't know when I'll next get in it. My books now come available for pick up in a brown paper sack...May you always be open HPL, may your staff stay healthy and thanks for all you do!
