Informative and lots of interactive displays. Reviewed May 5, 2019 A very nice small museum that does a great job of conveying what life was like on the cattle drive. They have several hands on displays that are great for kids and adults. There is a movie theater that shows an 18 minute video about life on the cattle drive. I especially enjoyed their collection of western art. Their collection includes Remington, Russell and Catlin paintings. The outdoor bronze sculpture is amazing. The staff is very nice! They are very knowledgeable of the history of the Chisholm trail and more than willing to share their knowledge with visitors. We love it here. The staff is always helpful and there's lots of hands-on activities to include a campfire scene and a theater with a show that really immerses you in the experience of the cattle drive up Chisolm Trail. The audience feels the wind, the rain, and even the lightening extends past the big screen (still safe though... projects on the walls). The audience even experiences the scents of the prairie grass. read more

This was actually super fun to visit - I had to rush through it as I came late on a Wednesday (closes at 5 pm and came in 4 pm). But you can easily spend 2 hours looking at everything and reading through stuff. The staff there was extremely helpful and knowledgeable - there were interactive shows to watch which honestly were just wholesome and fun - maybe can be seen as corny to some but I liked it. As someone who lives in NY - cowboy exhibits aren't particularly plentiful so the shows were interesting to me. Another beautiful part of the center was the artist section. Some of the finest art pieces around Native Americans and cowboys. Honestly wish they sold some of it as I'd probably buy a piece they were that beautiful. Since the center is pretty small and the location not too busy you could end up with the museum all to yourself without having to contend with other visitors. The staff also introduced us to the local chocolate Bedre - best chocolate I'd ever had. Highly recommend visiting this place. In addition there also have super child/disability friendly trails just outside to walk through. read more

My kids loved this small but very well-designed museum. There was a ton of hands-on stuff, which the kids really enjoyed. They loved pretending to work and shop at the general store, which was designed with lots of attention to detail. We will go back if we are in Duncan again. read more

It was fun museum to visit but kind of small. The exhibits were all interactive and educational. My kids liked the "be a trail boss" station. I really enjoyed the full experience theater just wish the scent portion of the theater was working the day we visited. read more

I've been here twice and I LOVED it both times. It had interactive exhibits that are fun and educational. They also have an area just for artwork that was awesome. The experience theater and the campfire room are lots of fun. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They offered all kinds of information and seemed excited to teach us about the Chisholm Trail. I love taking out of town friends here when they visit; they are always pleasantly surprised that a gem like this is in our little town. Whether we have an hour or an afternoon, we always enjoy ourselves. The film is amazing and the interactive exhibits are fun for all ages, but the true highlight is the gallery. Use the headphones to get details about some pieces but definitely take advantage of the knowledgeable staff guides as well. The temporary installations are excellent as well, and there are often free artist receptions when a new exhibit begins. The facility is also available to rent for events and every one I've attended has been well done. They even allowed me to tentatively reserve the facility as an inclement weather location in case our outdoor wedding needed to be moved inside. I'm not sure if that's a regular service but worth asking about if you're in a similar situation. read more

This museum does a great job of capturing the time the cattle drives were happening. There are a number of interactive exhibits, and the movie they present is outstanding. The audio-animatronics room with the cowboy is also excellent. In addition there is a wonderful art museum that is part of the museum as well. It is well worth the visit. read more

We only had 50 minutes to spare but did not want to miss this place. The museum was very interactive which made it really nice. Really enjoyed the movies and art. We don't no much about art but they had a lot of nice pieces. Would love to go again sometime and spend more time. Don't miss this place. It is worth seeing. read more

This is a very interesting place. A bit pricy but worth it. The art gallery is a sort of a maze but that is a plus in my opinon.
