They were aware I was very anxious. My husband took him for the appointment. They were only able to do one tooth with him awake and told my husband the rest would have to be done with full sedation. After the appointment he spoke to the front desk lady and told her he would speak to his wife and call them for an appointment as my son was agitated. He was IN THE PARKING LOT lot still buckling my son up in his car seat, when I got a call from the same lady who told me she needed to book an appointment. I was not even aware that the procedure ended as my husband didn't even have the chance to call me (BECAUSE HE HADN'T EVEN LEFT YET). I said "oh they're done?" Her exact words were" Yah your son didn't do well at all so we have to book a full sedation appointment to do the rest." I was obviously taken aback as I was already anxious. I told her to at least give me a chance to speak to my husband and see what happened. He had just got into the car when I called. I complained to the Manager and got nowhere except an insincere apology. For the little dental work he did get done, the Dentist was good - but for God's sake get better office staff, maybe ones who can understand simple etiquette when dealing with parents and their children's care. We ended up never going back here, and found THE BEST dental care for our child at AppleTree Dental for Kids.

This is a dental office with several receptionists, several dentists, several hygienists, for children, but I wish it was available when I was a child - they have 13 flavours of toothpaste children can choose to get their teeth cleaned with (10 regular flavours: birthday cake, cool mint, cotton candy, strawberry, piña colada, juicy grape, watermelon, white chocolate, sprinkles (donut/sugar), bubble gum+ Secret menu (today): orange, cherry, blue raspberry)). And they get to watch Netflix at the dentist - I either get to stare at the ceiling or watch a really old slideshow at my dentists growing up and now. Her fave part is getting 3 quarters to use at the toy vending machines (though I think different hygienists give a different amount - some give 4 quarters and some even give other things like sugar free lollipops and stickers?) - it's weird that not all hygienists give the same amount to every patient. My kid gets toothpaste, floss picks, and a manual toothbrush. They don't get to choose the stickers or floss sticks - but they do get to choose toothbrush and toothpaste (my kid doesn't like the blue one so she got two strawberry flavoured ones). The main draw for my little one is getting quarters to use in their toy dispensers after his appointments. Dentists, assistants, hygienists and admin staff are all lovely and try their best to make your kiddo feel as comfortable as possible. It really shows. My son has been coming here since he was two, and recently had to get three fillings done. Dr. Monika and her assistant worked quickly and efficiently to get them done as quickly as possible and were able to do all three in one visit. He was still complaining of tooth pain while chewing a couple weeks after so I called Smile Squad and they fit him in a couple hours later and were able to adjust the fillings and he's been fine since. I appreciate they were able to get him in so quickly. I will continue to bring my son here, and my daughter once she starts getting more teeth. They are also in the same building as a paediatric clinic which I've heard great things about, and had a good experience with recently doing a phone consult with one of their doctors. Can't speak highly enough about the operation they're running here. Oh, and bonus- right across the street from Dutch dreams so another bribing tool to get your kids to behave for their appointments! :)

However not so with Dr. Oktaei! She has been the only dentist to date who has proven time and time again - to perform various dental procedures on me using only local freezing with unbelievable pain free success. From dental cleanings. repairing a broken molar, needing to extract teeth, to fixing my numerous cavities - Dr. Oktaei has successfully performed all of these dental procedures on me using only local freezing - without me feeling any pain! Also every dental procedure provided lasting results without complications. For example, just recently I needed emergency dental surgery to have my upper wisdom teeth. extracted. I still recall how anxious I was fearing the worst since I was over 50 years old. Where having my wisdom teeth pulled at this stage presented certain risks and possible complications as I was told by oral surgeons at the Emergency Department. Being put under general anesthesia or using Nitrous Oxide gas also presented other risks. So I opted to have my wisdom teeth extracted by Dr. Oktaei using local freezing only. To this day I remain amazingly surprised at Dr. Oktaei's skill and ability to pull both of my wisdom teeth so quickly and efficiently using only local freezing. Before I knew it - both teeth were extracted without me feeling ANY PAIN through out the entire procedure. I also had no complications afterwards. Needless to say, over the past 5 years of being Dr. Oktaei's patient - I cannot but praise her enough! Her knowledge and skills to address and fix any dental problems I have presented has been resolved with ease. In additional to her professional expertise the added bonus is that she exudes such an amazing warm personable disposition towards all of her patients She truly cares about her patients' oral health, she listens to her patients' voiced concerns and alleviates one's fears. What I also love about her is that she presents to her patients various available options to resolve a particular dental problem and then gives the patient the choice before proceeding with the dental work. For every appointment, they email you a reminder and ask for confirmation. If you haven't replied, they will call you. They can submit expenses directly to your health insurance but you still have to pay them first. My son has since had 2 teeth pulled it. The first time, they used a needle and he became scared of needles for the next 2 years. He finally got over it. In 2925, they used laughing guess that that worked well with him. The service continues to be excellent. There is free WiFi. The place is wheelchair accessible and they have a bigger room for wheelchairs if needed. There is paid neighbourhood street parking.
