Very delicious but expensive! The coffee is on the thick side. I ordered my chocolates here for my wedding reception. ..Beautiful and my American guests were very impressed!

The third an final cafe the Mrs and I tried on our Stockholm excursion and we were very lucky that it was even open since a lot of people were celebrating Mid Summer celebration. The location in Sodermalm is surrounded by a hip area and a pleasant walk from Slussen station (excuse my spelling). You can see the nice landscape of the city from this side so we were already pretty happy with our choice to come here. The pictures looked great when we saw them, and the hot chocolate was one of the best, if not the best hot chocolates I've had. Ever. I truly appreciate how seriously Sweden takes it hot chocolate since I truly love it, and not a fan of the bitterness of coffee. This hot chocolate was both decadent but not overwhelming, chocolaty but not thick. and a nice perfect taste of milk chocolate. They have three options for your choosing, a white, dark or milk chocolate. You can add some items, and I chose the marshmallows. My mrs got a latte with a stick of milk chocolate and it added a nice change to her drink (close to a mocha, but not as chocolaty). They also have lots of chocolate options so if you're visiting this location you can get some great souvenirs for friends abroad. If the chocolate is as good as the beverage our friends will definitely be pleased and want to check this out on their journeys to Sweden. Staff were super welcoming and sweet even though it was a national holiday. Cant say anymore positive things about this location! Cant go wrong!

What a fun sweet shop! I was tasked with bringing home…read moreSwedish chocolate and Chokladfabriken came up on my search and was close enough to walk. I am glad this won my search! The shop itself is fairly small, but LOTS of options. There were the standard truffles, buy also pastries and other chocolate bars and goodies. The person working was very kind and helpful - and patient! I was picking up a lot of gifts and definitely took up a bit of her time, but she packed everything nicely and even wrote everyone's name on the boxes so I didn't have to try to remember which box went with which person. Would definitely recommend a stop here to satisfy your sweet tooth.

I asked the guy who worked there what his favorite ice cream flavors were and he recommended the manjariglass which has chocolate chunks from Madagascar and the tiramisu. The manjariglass was good but my sister and I both liked the tiramisu better. My sister wanted the kaffeglass because she likes coffee ice cream but there were chocolate chips in it which she wasn't expecting. I'm giving this place five stars because I can't think of any way that this chocolate shop could be improved. They serve desserts, chocolates, ice cream, and drinks. There's also a webcam of the kitchen that shows them preparing the chocolates. Prices are very reasonable and the people who work here are some of the nicest strangers I've met in Sweden. The shop itself is adorable as well. I'll have to try the truffles next time because they're supposed to be good!

With no Desserts available at Meatballs - For The People it was after a pleasant walk through Söder…read morethat two guests found themselves at Åsö Konditori & Bageri, the two-story space at Åsögatan 102 remaining busy despite an hour during which many are normally at work as a result of comfortable confines and free WiFi plus some of Stockholm's best Pastries. Located on a largely residential street not far from the Metro Station and open seven-to-seven on Weekdays with slightly shorter hours on weekends, at least one Baker still present approaching 16h00 and presumably working on items for the next day, it was after browsing still-full shelves that six items were selected, the Café upstairs offering a pleasant place to dine as the majority of patrons filled seats outside. Using slightly different nomenclature than other Konditori around Stockholm, the Wienerbrod for instance dubbed Vaniljbulle thanks to the flavor of thick Custard inside its fluffy golden coils, it was with Princess Cake dressed pretty in Pink that one of the city's best slices was found, at least five separate layers including Cream and Raspberry Compote contributing to Pound Cake that was more buttery than others but still surprisingly light. Not about to pass on the classic Fika focused on throughout nine days in Sweden, Åsö's Cardamom Bun more leavened than others and thus open beneath the sugared top with a nice stretch to the Dough, it was with a dual layer of the same Raspberry Jam tasted earlier that a Katalan Tart shined while the Tosca also performed admirably, the now-predictable Chokladbol in this instance occurring by way of a "Lillebror" that replaced with Pearl Sugar around the Chocolate and Oat core.

Fine fine Nordic eating…read more * * * This is a bakery/cafe that covers the four basic food groups: 1) Bread 2) Pastry 3) Coffee 4) Lunch Five stars on all of the above. * * * Recipes here are standard Swedish. Where they make their mark is in execution. Let's start with the drip coffee. You know how in "Pulp Fiction" and "Twin Peaks" a running gag is Coffee that is so good, everyone stops everything they are doing to comment on how good the coffee is? Aso's drip coffee could be that amazing stop-everything coffee. My only regret is that I did not have Kyle MacLachlan or Harvey Keitel with me to enjoy a cup. * * * Lunch was Raksmorgas, a standard Swedish dish of shrimp, fresh dill, lemon, tomatoes and homemade mayonnaise on thinly sliced rye bread. Aso's adds a hard-boiled egg to the proceedings. What was so good about this? Just about everything. The shrimp were small but packed with flavor. Imagine the flavor intensity of a salami, but in small cold shrimp. Fresh dill is always wonderful. Fresh dill can make cardboard taste good. The hard boiled eggs were perfectly timed. Bright golden moist-crumbly yellow yolks. Most restaurants give you over-boiled rubbery yellow-green yolks. Net of cooking time, the eggs themselves were a lot better than the old commercial refrigerator eggs we get in the United States. I suspect these were fresh eggs. The decadent treat was the rye bread on the bottom. This covered with homemade mayonnaise. The difference between homemade mayonnaise and jar mayonnaise is like the difference between a real kiss and a picture of a kiss. The mayonnaise drips into the rye bread. So do the flavor leavings of the shrimp and the egg and the tomato. The result? Bread to die for. Sopping up the good stuff from your meal with bread is always good. Sopping up the good stuff from your meal with superior Swedish rye bread is over the top excellent. * * * How is the bakery as a bakery? Love of the life got a walnut bread with her salad that was first rate. It was stick to your ribs stuff. One roll's worth of walnut bread and you were fed for a week. And totally walnutted to boot. On the dessert side, they do have decadent blow-all-the-calories desserts. But many Swedish pastries are in the same family with English scones. These are meant to be a snack by themselves. Substantial. Restrained. Subtle but worthwhile flavor. I had a Katalan which is two thin layers of lingonberry filling between three layers of substantial pie crust. Katalan means "from Catalonia" and naturally there is nothing more Spanish than lingonberries. (Cough cough). Not a good dessert choice after a heavy meal, but it would have been perfect with coffee at four in the afternoon. * * * Overall, an absolutely fine establishment. And even better if your world stops spinning for good coffee.
