They serve food, warm drinks, soda, smoothies, sandwiches, pastries etc and everything seems pretty fresh. I had a smoothie and it was perfect, not too sweet not too bitter. The service is really good, it's usually full, the staff work none stop but they still manage to keep it clean and going. If there's something negative I can say about is that there's no wi-fi, but that's a good excuse to enjoy the experience by taking a break from the social media haha! The cinnamon buns in Sweden are obviously exceptional as they originated from there- crunchy on the outside and warm, melted, soft cinnamon goodness on the inside. The waffles are delicious as well, regardless of which waffle you get. All in all, this is a great place to go to if you're visiting Stockholm!

I'm not sure what Swedish waffles and 1950s diners have in common, but this place makes it work for sure. We came in on a Sunday morning, and were able to get seated right away. My cousin and I both had the raspberry waffle with whipped cream (75 sek, approx $8USD.). The waffle was perfectly crispy and the jam was delicious, but it wasn't a particularly filling for the price, really just a treat. They had fancier offerings as well, for a bit more money, as well as savory combinations. I overheard from a neighboring table that you can order a waffle with both whipped cream and ice cream. Where was this information when I was ordering? Oh well, next time. I would visit Älskade Traditioner again, but perhaps only for dessert. Fresh baked breads were being pulled from the oven and placed on the counter while we stood there deciding what to order. The sandwiches listed on the chalk boards all sounded good and the lady working there was very friendly and happily translated and described the choices in English for us. I ordered a sandwich with avocado, onion, cottage cheese, arugula, and lettuce and since you are given a choice of any bread they have available I chose a pumpkin seed bread. The bread itself was very delicious and fresh as were all the ingredients and this was the perfect healthy lunch. My wife enjoyed her open face sandwich consisting of Serrano ham, arugula, lettuce, cucumber, pickle, and mozzarella cheese. There are a selection of beverages in the display case and I chose a can of flavored sparkling water and my wife had a bottled smoothie. There is also water available for free behind the counter. The atmosphere here was friendly, comforting, and inviting. The food was delicious, fresh, and healthy. If I had spent more time in Stockholm I would have certainly returned to Bulleboden.

Inside there's even more crazy artwork as the walls and ceilings were painted with crazy cows! There was only 3 flavors when I went (since it was later in the day) and the girl who was working at the counter was super friendly! She offered me to try the 3 flavors with a smile on her face! That never happens with a smile on your face! Anyways, I decided to try the lavender one and some hazelnut almond mixture. I liked both of them a lot but decided to go with the lavender one since it was a bit more unique. They also had Semlas in the store and oddly enough that day was "Fat Tuesday" which meant that it was a "national Semla" day. Since I had to celebrate such a historic holiday, I got the ice cream inside the semla and it was delicious. The way the bread soaked up the ice cream was super satisfying.

The waffle cone was crunchy and tasty, but the ice cream just tasted icy and watery as the flavor wasn't infused. Later as I was strolling through the city, I stumbled upon another StikkiNikki that had different flavors, such as Tin Roof (peanut and fudge swirl in vanilla - I was super excited for the crunchy texture!) and salted caramel. I tried those samples and again it was very watery and the flavor wasn't infused. If this were the United States these would be baller flavors... Side note, why do Scandinavians like their licorice so much?! There was a salted licorice flavor, and all over the grocery stores, there are licorice candies. I remember when I went to Iceland there was licorice everywhere as well.

You can immediately taste the difference from a store bought ice cream. Strawberry ice cream, not usually my favourite, has nothing on the strawberry gelato served here where the berry flavours are prominent and genuine. The place has promise but is not yet finished, you can however easily see where the decor will end up. A classic Italian 50's Gelateria. A fun detail is that you can peek through to the area where the ice cream is made. We met with the owner, Maria, who explained that Sottozero actually sneak previews their first batch of gelato today, it'll definitely be a place I'll come back to to experience additional flavours and get an espresso.

It's also about slowing down and savoring the moment rather than rushing off with a to-go cup. After a long afternoon of walking around and exploring Stockholm, I was grateful for an opportunity to sit back and relax. It was clear from the first moment we entered that this wasn't your fast-paced type coffee shop. There was only one person making the beverages and taking payments at the register. He skillfully crafted each beverage with a design on top while each person on the line waited patiently for their turn to order. The restaurant is pretty narrow and the order counter is by the door, so the order line quickly snaked outside the restaurant. The counter is on the right side of the restaurant, surrounded by a case of pastries and a wall-mounted blackboard with a list of beverages. There was a small seating area directly across from the register and a few more tables in the back. My friends and I ordered lattes and cinnamon pastries and squeezed into the high-top seats at one of the tables to enjoy them. My pastry was light and sweet and the latte was decent. We took advantage of the free WiFi to send some emails and texts, but for the most part enjoyed our conversations with each other.
