From the moment she arrived, everything felt easy and relaxed. She was organized, friendly, and completely took over the kitchen so we could actually enjoy the evening together. The food was absolutely delicious from start to finish. We started with the Wagyu Tataki with pine smoked ponzu, which was incredible. Chef Grey mentioned she had gathered the pine needles herself during a walk the day before, such a thoughtful touch and everyone loved it. The Kurobuta Pork Belly Kakuni came next and quickly became the favorite of the night. It was perfectly tender with just the right touch of sweetness, and the mustard on the side paired beautifully. The Alpine Tempura Platter with jumbo prawns and mountain vegetables was so good, it did not even need the sauce. For the main course, we enjoyed the Cedar Plank Miso Black Cod. The buttery fish paired perfectly with the crispy grilled rice and sweet soy butter glaze, and the sesame broccolini was cooked just right. Dessert sealed the deal. The White Chocolate and Yuzu Namelaka was super smooth, creamy, and not too sweet. Chef Grey also made a triple berry cake and surprised us with yummy brown butter ice cream that she made herself as a birthday treat. Such a thoughtful touch! Everything was generous in portion size, which we honestly were pleasantly surprised by, and we happily enjoyed leftovers the next day. We have hired private chefs before, and without a doubt, Chef Grey's cooking was the most delicious we have experienced so far. I rented two tuxedos for my sons. Two different styles. The first one was nice. it was missing a…read morebutton when we went to pick it up but that was an easy fix. However, the hem of the pant as still a bit short. He wore black socks so it didn't look bad unless you were really looking. The second one was a mess. My son lives out of state and he flew in for the measurements. When we received it we were told that no changes could be made. The tuxedo was too big so it made him look odd instead of tailored. The shoes were broken so he couldn't wear them. The clasp of the pant was broken so his pants kept falling (pant didn't have belt loops as is normal for tuxedo pants) and he had the same issue with the hem being too short. When we went to return the items, the person behind the counter, although apologized for the "inconvenience" kept saying that we should have asked more questions and that we should have called. How do you call when you have already been told that no changes could be made, not to mention it was after business hours? I could have easily replied with the fact that they did not check the items before we picked them up. Not the greatest experience, especially with the service rendered.
