I was referred to Dr Muldoon by my obgyn for my worsening endometriosis. My first time experience with her was great and she was able to address all of my concerns to the best of her ability. My concern is with Michelle, the nurse who did my intake and drew my labs. She had me confused with another patient the moment I walked into the exam room. She kept asking me questions that were wrong and stating things that were incorrect. I had to make sure she was looking at my file and not someone else's. At the end of my visit with Dr Muldoon, she ordered labs and told me to stay in the room because the nurse would draw them there. Michelle came back into the room and had me hold a pillow on my lap while she drew two tubes of blood from my right arm. No chair? No arm rest? Just a random pillow. When I asked her if she drew blood frequently she said "sometimes." When she put the needle in I immediately knew something was wrong. I get labs drawn consistently for other health issues, and had gotten some drawn on my left arm the day before--never had I experienced this kind of pain. It was excruciating! She dug the needle in further and further and struggled to get the two tubes of blood ordered. When she gave me the cotton ball, blood began to soak through it. I knew something wasn't right. I had never bled this much in my life. I began to feel queasy and almost passed out. She had to bring me apple juice and gold fish. That had never happened to me before. I had to lay down on the bed and my husband helped me out of the office. To top it all off, Michelle used a regular Bandaid instead of the tape used at most blood laboratories, it was so painful to take it off a few days later! The next day I couldn't lift anything using that arm. I had a swollen ante-cubital area and it turned from blue to yellow to black. It took me over 3 weeks to fully heal. I work at a hospital and consulted my nursing friends afterwards, they all said I had a bad stick and that Michelle didn't know what she was doing. I wasn't able to go to the gym to lift weights for days and my arm was really swollen and painful. DO NOT GET YOUR LABS DRAWN AT THIS OFFICE! Super happy to find Dr. Beman. I was just as happy when I actually found the office. Ha ha. I parked in the free garage next door, and walked in the front door. There is a wonderful digital map on the walk to help locate which office you need to find. Well, I guess that I need to brush up on my map skills, as I could not find this 'first floor' office while standing on what I thought was the first floor. Turns out, when you walk in the door you are in the Ground floor. Walk all of the way to the back and get in the elevator. Then go to the first floor. Anyway, the lobby to Dr. Beman's office is really bright and inviting. The staff was very friendly as well. Dr herself was very gracious, and took the time to discuss everything that I needed to with her, and she never made me feel rushed. Great experience, and pleased with my new doctor. read more

I do not feel safe in the care of this doctor. I had a UTI that was diagnosed and a prescription was sent in the day of my appointment... but nobody told me. Every time I called, they told me it wasn't a UTI but likely another bacterial infection and they didn't want to have me take antibiotics unless we were certain what it is, and they would call me Thursday or Friday at the absolute latest. No call ever came. Even though the cultures had returned a UTI and the antibiotics were ready for pickup. I am only finding out about my results after 5 days of pestering, 10 phone calls from my side, 1 phone call from theirs, and over a week of severe pain and discomfort. They neglected me as a patient. They actively told me that I shouldn't take antibiotics while they had called in a prescription that would have healed me. When I told Cindy that I was worried I wouldn't be able to afford them, she said "I don't know why you would be able to afford them last week and not this week....." The first script they called in for me was $70. They never know how much it will cost. I don't know who I offended or what I did wrong to be actively ignored while in pain but I don't think I deserved this. I will be finding a new doctor for my IUD checkup. I won't step into CHPG again and neither should you. I am genuinely scared for patients who trust them. I trusted them. read more

I absolutely appreciate everyone on this office. I have been a patient with Dr Beman for over 15 years. She has seen me through all of the ups and downs life can offer, especially the kinds of things women's health has to give. There is nothing more personal to me that this. Dr Beman and Paula are always smiling and caring, you never feel rushed or like you ask a question that is a waste of their time. I have recommended them to every woman I know and, ironically, some were already patients. I trust this office enough with all of my healthcare and my children's too. I was referred to Dr. Mandi Beman through my GP for a prolapsed uterus/bladder repair. Dr. Beman diagnosed my issues as a prolapsed bladder but said she should also perform a complete hysterectomy. Surgery was done October 5, 2015. Before the surgery I spoke with the anesthesiologist to let him know I was being treated for PTSD. Dr. Beman had already been informed. Problems began immediately when I was totally alone in recovery when I awoke. When I awoke at Porter Hospital I was completely alone - no other patients, doctors, or nurses. I was in pain but there was no one to help me. I later found discovered that was son was told, "Just get her out of here." The month following the surgery was difficult and extremely painful. But I was not alarmed....yet. By December, I could feel that the bladder (I assumed because I was supposed to have had a COMPLETE hysterectomy). But for the first ten days, I could not even stand up. I had a yeast infection within the first month of the surgery. I was finally able to see her again around the beginning of January 2016. She suggested the three month date for another exam. My recovery had been extremely challenging as I lost 20 lbs. making the recovery difficult. She demanded that we go back in to repair my bladder but at 5' 6'' and 100 lbs. I felt I needed to get stronger. She was literally in my face screaming that if I didn't let her go back in I would never have sex again. It was quite offensive. I opted for a pessary cup as a solution. I spent the next 3 years going to different specialist because I had a low grade infection that no one could seem to clear up. * I had three rounds of shingles in the first year. * January 2016 - the first bout of shingles. * March 2016 - Another bout of shingles. I'm going to my GP and we're trying to figure this out. Continuing to have an elevated white cell count. * December 2016 - I moved in with my son because I needed help with daily living. * January 2017 - Another round of shingles and the continuing elevated white cell count with low grade fever. * May 2017 - I begin having symptoms of gastroparesis and am tested at the University of Colorado but was not given the diagnosis as I am not diabetic. (I've been diagnosed with hypoglycemic since the early 80's) * I continued to visit specialists who believed it was digestive issues/celiac and we focused on my digestive issues - celiac, the gastroparesis, acid reflex disease. * I continued to see my GP for routine checkups, and continued to have elevated white cell counts in my blood tests as well as (sometimes) blood in my urine and a low-grade fever. I began visiting specialists but no one could identify the origin of the infection * April - May 2017 - referral to a urogynecoligist, Dr. Hartmann. (We also discovered that I had basal cell carcinoma and scheduled Mohs surgery.) * July - August 2018 I had 2 different basal cells removed which resulted in a staph infection. End of August, I finally had an appointment with Dr. Hartmann who decided we had to do an exploratory procedure to see what was going on. She discovered non-dissolving stitches throughout my abdomen which were the cause of the 3 year infection. (She made pictures of the stitches for me.) * I was under her care until December when she referred me to Dr. Dunn for reconstructive surgery. No infections since the stitches were removed in October 2018. . Until this October 2018 when a new surgeon did another procedure to see what was happening. She discovered that Dr. Beman had used non dissolving stitches which have become imbedded in my tissues and that were the source of the 3 year infection. I now have to have reconstructive surgery on my entire abdomen. And hopefully, this surgeon will indeed do the hysterectomy. I am extremely concerned that she doesn't hurt anyone else in this manner as those three years were absolutely miserable. I wonder if she knew she had used the wrong kind of stitches as that explains her bizarre behavior in January 2016. Also, she refused 6 times to release my records to the new surgeon who did find the stitches. PLEASE DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE YOU ALLOW HER TO TOUCH YOU. TLDR: This office didn't run tests that they were supposed to run, ran tests they weren't supposed to run; lied about what labs they requested; incorrectly cancelled appointments; have been incorrectly billing me for months and have not returned multiple phone calls to resolve these errors despite promises to. Since I am forced to give one star, I would like to dedicate this star to Nurse Practitioner Thomassen Davis, who is actually a decent person who cares about accuracy and professionalism in this office. The full version: I was a patient here for 4 years and even referred girl friends to Dr. Beman. It was nice to find a doctor who was younger and easier to talk to... until last year. I went in for an annual and during the visit, I was specifically told that I was not due for a pap smear with the new guidelines (true). A few weeks later, I got a call from Dr. Beman about my pap results. After I got off the phone, I realized I was explicitly told that I wasn't due for a pap and couldn't understand why I am being given results for tests I wasn't supposed to have. I called back because I really didn't think they have the right labs (I still don't). The receptionist tried to argue with me about what tests I was supposed to have and after much persistence, she finally went to go see Dr. Beman and said "Oh, you guys got off topic and we accidentally ran both sets of tests." Fast forward a few weeks later, I went in for an IUD with the nurse practitioner.... She wants to run an STD screen on me and I said, "I just had one and they accidentally ran both sets of tests." She calls the lab, and they did not run both sets of tests, the office LIED about what labs they requested instead of verifying. They also cancelled my IUD check when I just asked that the appointment be reflected to only reflect the IUD check, instead of other services they wanted me to have. The NP did seem embarrassed by the errors and even made a comment about how "I must not have any faith in this practice." She was correct, but given her sympathy and embarrassment, I had hoped this was a one off, and everything would be fixed moving forward. Conveniently, my IUD didn't take right and the NP wanted me to have an ultrasound to check placement, which I was hesitant to schedule, but I was assured that the cost would be in the $20 range and the deductible would not apply. At one point, I even asked that they just take it out because I ONLY agreed to the IUD because insurance was covering it. In the meantime, I got EOBs from my insurance company for the incorrect labs this office ran totaling over $900. I called this office again and spoke with a nurse (I don't know her name) and her response was a cold "well, it's not a bill." **I went to your office for an annual that was supposed to be covered by my insurance, you incorrectly run tests, I am receiving EOBs saying I may owe over $900 and all you can say is that "It's not a bill"?!** I decided to cancel my IUD check because I was so shocked by all of this. A couple days later the NP called because she was worried that I cancelled my appointment and I was in tears over the EOB. She was actually understanding and helped to get it resolved and I agreed to have the follow up with the ultrasound. Fast forward to my ultrasound which was strictly for the IUD and Dr. Beman happened to find ovarian cysts during this appointment. I didn't think much of it, but then I am now getting incorrect bills again because they coded the visit to the ovarian cysts and not the IUD. (I had to do my own homework and figure this out on my own. The office was useless in trying to help me). Incidental findings should not be listed as the diagnoses for billing purposes. I have called and left so many un-returned messages in an effort to get this resolved. I was told by Paula that "we have sent over your records to the billing office and we have 'washed our hands of it,'" on January 6. I asked her if she could forward me a copy of what they sent over. She said she would, and two months later, I have received nothing besides more incorrect bills. I am so frustrated that they won't return my messages, or specifically won't give my messages to NP Davis because she is the only person that cares in this office. A part of me is tempted to sue this office for their negligence. Another part of me just wants this to go away. We brought our daughter (a minor at that time) to have a necessary surgery with Dr. Beman. She was fantastic. Unfortunately, she is no longer able to see our daughter (now a young adult) for routine care so we followed up with another staff member (PA?, Dr.?) for a routine exam. Our daughter was seen for the 1st time by herself (I was not there in the room for her annual exam) and the person she saw changed her exam from a "routine" visit to a "basic" visit. Meaning, insurance would not cover this visit due to coding. The office then lost the paperwork, which my daughter had previously signed, to speak with me on my daughters behalf. I believe that they took full advantage of my daughter, knowing I was not in the room to help advocate on her behalf, and I was charged a lot of $$$ since they are not willing to change the coding. Although my daughter is technically an adult, she is still under our insurance plan and we pay her medical bills. Very disappointed in this office. This review may not serve has being helpful but my first ever visit to a gynecologist was back in 2013 at Porter Hospital. After writing some reviews today regarding the helpful gynecologist I saw for the past few years in Denver I finally decided to write a review on my only experience at Porter. I called to find out the name of the gynecologist or nurse practitioner I saw back in 2013. They have records of my visit and blood tests but no listing of the staff I saw that day :/ Looking online it may have been Dr Beman or Dr Lovitt or different nurse practitioner. I don't want to throw anyone under the bus as there is no record of who I saw. I only remember that she was younger and blond. For my first women's exam I felt extremely vulnerable and she brought in a male student to observe her without my permission. At the time I was 21 and very in shape- average BMI. However she told me I had a "manish shape" while I had a pear shaped body at 130 lb. She told me I could consider weight watchers. I did not return or think to write a review at the time. I will just be blunt, I got problems yo!! I have been to countless doctors over the years. This is the first office where I feel that I am listened to and understood. I have seen both of the physicians here and I love there approach. These two women have created a practice dedicated to women that have GYN issues, there is no OB in this office, no screaming kids in the waiting room, no pregnant women hogging the bathrooms. I have often felt when I am in OB/GYN offices, that I am second best because I am not pregnant. I have never felt rushed here, which is a common occurrence in many practices. The wait is never more than 10 minutes. The waiting room is comfortable, they have great mags to read too! The atmosphere in this office almost has a spa like feel. It has a very modern design, it does not feel sterile like most offices. I have recommend Aracea to many of my friends. read more

There are not enough stars to award to Dr. Mandi Beman (OB/GYN) and the amazing staff at CHPG Women's Health Porter. Dr. Beman is preceptive, intelligent, and has an impressive medical pedigree. But just as important, she makes you feel relaxed, comfortable, and listened to. I had my first surgery ever with Dr. Beman, and knowing she was my surgeon made the entire experience much less stressful. Dr. Beman and the staff have been highly responsive, have answered my questions immediately, and have communicated with my health insurance company in my best interest. From the front desk receptionists, to the nurses, to the doctors---I have been consistently impressed with the genuine kindness and helpfulness from the Women's Health Porter team, especially notable since this is being recorded during the ramp-up of Covid-19. read more

It seems that the majority of docs who specialize in gynecology do so because it goes with obstetrics and what they are really interested in is delivering babies. I suppose I can understand that. But here is the thing: Not every woman is going to make babies. Some of can't. Some of us aren't interested. But we still need a doctor for our lady parts. And we would prefer to not be treated as a second rate patient. Aracea Women's Care does not do obstetrics. It handles the GYN part only. Hooray! And they are all super nice and professional. I've dealt with Dr. Beman only so I can't speak to the other doctor but Dr. Beman is very professional and kind. The entire staff are all very pleasant to deal with. First, I have always seen Dr. Lovitt and she actually does a pretty good job. She's efficient, knowledgeable, and timely with her appointments. She has also prescribed sinus medication when I am having other issues and don't want to see another doctor. I give her 4 stars. The one star review is for Aracea Women's Care and their terrible billing system. First, I have always thought it strange that they have never reminded me when it's time for an annual appointment. My previous OB, before I moved, always sent me a notice when it was time to schedule another appointment. Second, when I did my trio of Gardisil vaccines they didn't notify when it was time for the second and third shots, even though it's very important that you take them at the right time (second should be 2 months after the first, third 4 months after the second). I had to call and remind them that I needed to get the second and third vaccines. My final, and major issue, with these people is that they have had terrible record keeping and billing. I got my Gardisil vaccines early last year. I got a call today, over a year later, saying that my bills were in pre-collection and that I owed them money for both shots. I asked countless times for them to send me bills for these shots and how they were being taken care of, etc. Every time I was told that insurance was covering it and I didn't need to do anything (even though I called my insurance company and they told me they don't cover it). I am now in the process of straightening this out, though I imagine I'll now have to pay for 2 very expensive shots that I didn't want to begin with. They also told me that my insurance would pay for all the vaccines, but they obviously didn't. And I still don't know how the first shot got paid for. They apparently have a new bookkeeper which is how I found out about these problems, but I really don't care. They have lost a patient. I don't recommend you visit here unless you want to have your bills ignored for over a year and then have your credit damaged by their poor management. read more

I'm so glad I found Dr. Beman and her practice! I was impressed right off the bat when I called for an appointment-- the receptionist was professional and friendly, and I got an appointment within a couple weeks (some practices schedule months out). My appointment went well-- Dr. Beman put me at ease and was direct with me, made sure I understood everything going on. I have a tendency to faint and they were incredibly supportive-- the nurse fanned me during the whole exam! It's nice to feel like they actually care about me-- I'm sure they have hundreds of patients, but I never felt like just a number. read more

I was referred to Dr. Beman by a friend and have since referred her to several of my girlfriends, without any complaints! She has always made every appointment as comfortable as possible; she is thorough with her assessments as well as with her explanation of treatments. I have never felt rushed through an appointment nor felt like I have left confused or uncertain. Every time I have called with a question (specifically after surgery) she returned by end of business day! Her staff is always responsive, whether by phone or messaging through Centura's patient portal. Prior to surgery, I was made aware of all charges I would be responsible for which made the whole process easier to manage. I had the misfortune to see another OBGYN who was more conveniently located in my office building who never gave me a great feeling of confidence. I am so glad I returned to Dr. Beman, who performed a phenomenal minimally invasive surgery and preserved tissues I was previously told would have to be removed. I chose to do an elective procedure at this clinic, because the doctor recommended it and I thought it would have a positive impact on my life. I was quoted $300 dollars, then asked to pay almost $100 more at the time of checkout. I recently received another bill for $300 more! I guess I should have done my own research, but I expected the truth from the doctor and her accomplices. Every appointment I have been to has taken 45 minutes or more... But I only see the doctor for 10 minutes or less. Yeah, she is nice enough, but seems to have a lot going on in her life, that may be interfering with the level of care and regard she takes with patients. My mom is a doctor specializing in OB-GYN, and she has always asked all the right questions, and spent her allotted treatment time (and then some) with her patients. Billing is straightforward - patients can make their own choices based on current, real information, not a parade of loose BS. No offense meant, but next time I get my "lady parts" checked out, I am flying back to Hawai'i, and to a real doctor with real care for her patients' well being. read more

If you are in the market of a slew of unnecessary tests, extremely late bills for said unnecessary services and being treated like a complete burden when you try to resolve any issues with staff, this is the place for you! I will add a caveat to this review and say that before Nurse Practitioner Thomassen Davis departed, this was a decent practice. Nurse Practitioner Thomassen placed my IUD and was a generally nice and competent person when I saw her at this office. This review is limited to my most recent experience with the practice, which seems to be more of the norm lately. In February of 2018 I went in for my annual Well Woman exam. During the course of this exam I expressed some general concerns about my IUD and my general vaginal health. Nothing was discussed about out-of-office testing or panels. Long story short, this office requested an extensive series of panels from a third party lab, Unipath. I never received the results of the panels, but you bet I received an extremely expensive bill for these tests almost a year later. That's right... in February of 2019 I received a bill for services I never requested and was never informed of. Needless to say I was extremely confused so I called (and called, and called, and called) the office and billing to try and get an idea of what had happened and what had led to this very expensive bill. The calls have been ongoing as I am consistently promised someone with some knowledge of my file will return my calls. They have not. It is not a great feeling to be treated like a pest or a burden by someone you have trusted with your health, but here we are. I do not anticipate any helpful resolution to this matter as it has been made extremely clear to me that this office cannot be bothered to help in any manner, nor do they particularly care once they have been paid. I am hoping that my experience, and the many others like mine outlined here, make someone think twice about trusting this practice with your very important health, concerns and privacy. read more

Dr Mandi Beman was referred by my primary OB doctor (Dr Susan Lee) as the surgeon to perform a needed hysterectomy due to a painful growing fibroid. Dr Beman listened carefully to my concerns & questions, never rushed. She consulted with Dr Lee & throughly reviewed previous tests & ultrasounds, then made sure I understood every step ahead. I would avoid this office if you have a choice- and here is why I say this: I went to this practice as a new patient to get a yearly check up, and decided to try the IUD for the first time, which the Dr raved about. She said there were never any issues and the procedure is "quick and easy. You can come do it on a lunch break and go back to work." She then told me that if I didn't like it, I could take it out at any time. When I went in for the procedure, I was handed off to a nurse practitioner I had never met, and was not even notified that it wouldn't be the Doctor doing it. The nurse practitioner handled the whole procedure very poorly by not informing me of everything that was going to take place. So the entire procedure was surprise after surprise of pain. Because they made it sound like I would be fine after, I scheduled a meeting for the afternoon. I left this procedure in such pain and so light headed, that I had to excuse myself from my meeting to go home and try to ease the pain. The pain did not subside for days, it was extreme and friends of mine told me to call into the doctor, because they were all subscribed better pain medication if the basics didn't work. So I called in, at first they REFUSED to help me, I persisted and they finally helped me. The situation got worse when I had a bad reaction to the IUD. 3 weeks after my procedure, I was having anxiety attacks every day and night that quickly turned into panic attacks. I've never had these in my life and had to do my own research to find out what was happening. I called the doctors office to ask for their guidance and help in the matter, They were no help at all and refused to look into it further- claiming it was "all in my head" and in NO WAY could it be the IUD. That is NOT a good doctor or office. The situation peaked when I almost had to go to the emergency room from my heart racing rapidly and the intensity of the panic attacks not subsiding for days or nights at a time. Research I did on my own confirmed that there COULD be issues with an IUD- rare but possible- and to remove the IUD immediately if anything felt incorrect. So that's what I decided to do. I called in to set an appointment and expressed the urgency of the situation. They REFUSED to accommodate me in anyway and treated it like I was asking to come in for a general check up. I set the appointment for an afternoon a couple days out. But because the situation was escalating quickly, I went in first thing in the morning (right when they opened) to ask if they would fit me in quickly as an emergency to remove the IUD. When I arrived, there was no sympathy from the office and when the nurse practitioner came out, she tried to tell me that the reason I was having panic attacks is because of my job- this woman knew NOTHING about me, and she cared little that I had never even had an anxiety or panic attack before this- but she wouldn't see me until my appt time and then even told me she WOULDN'T take the IUD out if it looked normal, whether I wanted her to or not!!!! I was appalled. I had to leave and come back in the afternoon and demanded they take it out. When she scanned my body, she saw that it was inserted incorrectly to top it all off. When it was finally removed, i felt my body immediately relax and my heart rate slowed. My anxiety started to go away slowly day by day, after a week, I felt normal again. I did some research after this experience, and a couple of additional pieced of info that they refused to tell me. The copper IUD should not be used on women who have never had a child before (which is me). It's the largest one and you CAN have bad reactions to the copper. It is RARE- however, possible. listen to your body. There was NO support from this practice when things were going wrong. I very rarely ever leave poor ratings, but this was such nightmarish service, that I feel strongly that people need to know how this practice handled this situation. I left this practice and so did my friend, who witnessed the entire situation and was helping me through it. I am truly a patient person, but I would AVOID this practice by any means- they do NOT care about helping their patients in the truest sense. read more

Reading Brittany E.'s review reminded me of my own experience with Aracea and inspired me to write my own. I've suffered with pelvic pain for years, and after a particularly agonizing flare-up in 2011, I decided it was time to get help. I sought out Aracea because I was looking for a specialist who was experienced in women's reproductive issues/diseases. Dr. Mandi Beman seemed to be the best I could find in Colorado and I liked that her office was strictly focused on GYN, not OB. THE GOOD- My first appointment was in March 2011. It was also my first ever GYN exam - I'd been putting it off for years due to anxiety. Scheduling was easy, the office environment was nice, and Dr. Beman was nice too...at first. Bedside manner was good and she made the exam as comfortable of an experience as one could hope for. I explained my excrutiating pain and was relieved when she was understanding enough to prescribe stronger pain pills that I so desperately needed (monthly lady pains are not often taken seriously by most doctors). I suspected the cause of my pain was a disease called endometriosis and I asked her for the surgery necessary to diagnose it. Dr. Beman instead pushed for me to try hormonal therapy (which translates to taking birth control pills to prevent ovulating & menstruation altogether). I asked her about the side effects, and she assured me that most people really didn't have any. So I took the pills as prescribed...and barely made it a month due to the intolerable side effects (nausea, depression, lethargy, brain fog, mood swings, weight gain, and I still had the pelvic pain). At my next appointment, Dr.Beman offered me different birth control pills to try. I requested surgery, preferring to know the actual cause of my pain, rather than taking drugs all the time in attempt to mask whatever it was. She agreed to go ahead with it and my laparoscopy surgery was done in May 2011. Endometriosis was indeed found and removed by Dr. Beman. She also placed a Mirena IUD at that time, which she talked me into trying to prevent the endo from growing back while releasing very minimal amounts of hormones (i.e. less side effects). Like reviewer Brittany E., I haven't had children either. THE BAD- The surgery did not help me feel better in the sense that I felt pain on a daily basis, whereas before it was just excrutiating a few days a month. It felt like there was a burning coal inside my uterus ALL THE TIME and I had ulcers from taking so much ibuprofen. I also felt pain in my bladder area (which was new), felt fatigued, had headaches, and a weird rash that I'd never had before. I explained how bad I felt to Dr. Beman and her response was always, "Give it time. It may take your body a few months to adjust to the IUD." She convinced me to wait SIX MONTHS before finally removing the thing. It felt immediately much better after it was taken out. And, of course, she handed out different birth control pills to me like candy. THE UGLY-Instead of putting my life on hold again by being a birth control guinea pig, I instead opted to try alternative methods to cope with my disease (diet, supplements, exercise, acupuncture, etc.). All very reasonable for someone with endo to try because, as of yet, there is no known cause, and therefore, no cure. These alternative treatments helped much more than hormones, but I did still struggle from time to time. Around May 2012, I returned to Aracea for my yearly exam and also to request help filling out forms for intermittent time off from work to cope with the disease. (Intermittent FMLA meaning very sparingly to take time for doctor's appointments or for running a little late some days due to a flare up of intense pain.) I was expecting to see Dr. Beman for the appointment, but instead I was seen by a different physician. I explained the FMLA request and she said she'd discuss it with Dr. Beman. Dr. Beman later called me and essentially berated me for not having talked to HER directly about the FMLA. She said she takes time off "very seriously, because if you're missing work, that means that someone else has to cover for you." (Not that it's even her business but, she knew nothing about my job and when I missed time, I was the one who had to catch up on it.) She seemed angry and offended that I didn't want to try her "hormonal treatments" any longer, and refused to help me with my FMLA forms. She accused me of being negligent for not taking the birth control pills and even went so far as comparing this situation to a heart disease patient not taking their blood pressure pills! (Anyone who knows anything about endometriosis knows that there is no clear cut treatment because the disease isn't fully understood. Unknown cause + no cure = no universally accepted treatment!) I felt that Dr. Beman became very dogmatic and lost all empathy for me as a person the moment I no longer wanted to accept her drugs. She was totally out of line. Went to see Dr. Beman because my insurance referral's default is a provider closest to the zip code I live. Went in with a neutral attitude and came out pretty negative. They had me fill out 6 long tedious pages of medical history by hand. Hello! What about electronic forms and medical record? (You could download those forms from their website but you still have to fill them out by hand). Besides, everything could have been easily obtained from my primary care provider. The frustrating part was they never really read any of that. Some of the medical and general history are "triggers" that any conscientious doctor will follow up and ask questions. Instead, Dr. Beman appeared to have a canned approach to everything and made no attempt to explain where she is coming from and listen to my concerns. My OB/Gyn referred me to Dr. Beman for surgery. Due to my body not cooperating, I've actually been through surgery with her twice (nothing she could have done about it, just my body deciding to go against me). She is FANTASTIC and I could not have hoped or prayed for a better surgeon. She is professional, helpful with the myriad of questions I've bombarded her with, and empathetic. More than anything, she is a fantastic surgeon, which I appreciate if I'm going to have to have surgery. I've never had any complications, and she is meticulous when it comes to her work. Had a great experience for what I thought was a preventative exam until I got the bill. I ended up on the phone with Paula Johnson from their office who was extremely rude, violated my HIPAA rights and refused to listen to rectify the billing then hung up on me, not once but twice. On the second call, she was continue to be rude and refused to give me information on how to file a complaint or reach the corporate office stating that she did not "feel comfortable" giving me this information and as a result was going to end the call. I would not recommend this clinic to any female who is looking for quality women's care or for any woman who is seeking compassionate care with respect to women's health care issues. read more

I was seen at this practice about two years ago, but am just now getting around to writing a review. The one positive thing I can say is that it was fairly easy to schedule an appointment. The appointment was the classic issue of the Nurse Practitioner rushing, not answering my questions, and generally making me feel like I was a huge inconvenience to her day. Had it just been for that, I would have never returned myself but would not have felt the need to warn others off. Maybe other people like being treated like an inconvenience. However, I do strongly urge anyone reading this to avoid this practice at all costs due to what happened after my visit. My main issue is with the ethics and competency of the practice. I was seen in February of 2016. Because my insurance at the time wasn't great, I knew I would eventually get a bill for anything that hadn't been covered. Several months went by and I realized I never received a bill. Concerned it had been sent to the wrong place, I called the practice to see what I owed. The billing department told me that, due to a clerical error on their end, they had never submitted a bill to my insurance, hence why I hadn't received a bill for the difference. She assured me she would submit it and thanked me for bringing this to their attention. A few weeks later, I got a notice that I was going to be sent to collections for the amount owed. This was before the practice ever sent me a bill directly or gave me the opportunity to pay, which is, in fact illegal. The only reason they even knew what to collect (from my insurance and me) was because I brought their error to their attention. I immediately contacted the billing department and the person again apologized profusely. I paid over the phone right then (again, immediately upon receiving the bill for the vert first time) and the woman assured me she would stop it from going to collections due to their error. However, they did not keep their word and still sent me to collections (after I had paid) and immediately resolved it with collections to indicate I had paid. This is still on my credit report in spite of the fact that it was the clinic's error, they would never have known about the amount owed if I hadn't brought it to their attention. You may be thinking this is just a one-off situation or unlikely to happen again. However, what I would ask is if you want an office that can't even manage billing properly (and clearly this is incredibly important to them as they were more concerned with getting their $70 than with handling the situation ethically or even rationally), do you really want them handling your medical records, test results, and personal information? I certainly would not. read more

I recently moved to Denver and made an appointment at Aracea Women's Care for my annual. They are awesome! I got lost on the way to the office and was running almost 20 minutes late. When I called to let them know, they were very understanding and said it would be no problem to still see me. Even though I was late, they saw me almost as soon as I arrived. The PA was friendly, efficient and very professional. The women at the front desk were also very nice, and they welcome new patients with a free water bottle! Great experience. read more

Dr. Beman and her staff were mindful, kind and considerate of my needs as a patient. Never once did I feel uncomfortable or that my needs were not being met. Dr. Beman seamlessly inserted my IUD several years ago. After I started having some "lady issues" I reached out to her and she promptly returned my phone call. I never felt embarrassed asking questions about things going on with my body and she answered professionally and with knowledge. We came up with a action plan and she was available for all my needs. I have been a patient for almost 2 years! If you want a Doctor that will listen to you, take as much time as you need, make sure you were heard and understand your issues and get the best advice and treatment this is where to go! I have always been treated like family from the first time I was a patient. I had a medical emergency and Dr. Yi was not in that day but the staff got him on his cell phone and asked when I could be there. Instead of me having to go to an ER or urgent care he took time on his day off to see and treat me for over an hour. He just performed a surgery for me that will improve my quality of life tremendously, and it was one of the best surgeries I have had! Unfortunately, I am a patient with many surgeries and complicated health issues.
