Unfortunately, they brought in an appraiser from Raleigh who didn't know our market and our appraisal came in lower than the offering price on the house. We thought the whole deal was going to fall through. Our real estate agent suggested we try Carolina Home Mortgage, and they made the process so easy. CHM brought in a well-qualified appraiser, a local title attorney, and talked us through the various fees. Kearny, the owner, personally handled our mortgage and was always available by phone. He explained what we needed to do at each step of the process. When we decided to refi, we went back to Carolina Home Mortgage, and they were a pleasure to work with again. Kearny made sure our mortgage was prioritized and processed before our rate lock expired and a federal rate increase went into effect.
