Do not file your tax return with them if you are a foreign citizen!…read more I filed my return on Feb 02. I paid them almost $400 for their "consulting services" upon filing and still did not get a penny after 3 months! But what's more important, they are not able to tell you what exactly is happening with your application and where is the return! You are not even able to trace it nether at IRS website, nor at theirs. They just fill out standard forms, submit them in paper and do not share any information about progress! They failed to enter my phone number correctly. The only response I got from them is that IRS is "probably" busy now, and "your return application is likely to be processed shortly". When you just file an application, they tell you one term - 4-6 weeks. After that expires, they say "Oh, IRS is busy, it will take 8-12 weeks". When that expires, they start saying that you have to wait for your wife's ITIN number to be issued. Then, after 3 more visits and numerous call, the only information I could pull out of them was a tax advocate contact number at IRS, who was able to convey a clear processing terms and deadlines, which those "consultants" at H&R Block should have let me know in the very beginning! I would then definitely look for more affordable option! Does it worth your money paid - definitely not! They charge you for what you can do yourself, nothing else. It will probably take no longer than our waiting so far. And I have never been offered a compensation for these obvious mistakes.
