At closing back in 2006 the mortgage lender never showed and at the time to sign (over 100 pages) we were shocked and stuck with another rate! Not recommended. I think now they are working under Certainty Mortgage. Brokers do not have your best interest!

I had entered into a rent-to-own agreement in November 2011 after receiving initial approval for a…read moreloan from a well-known bank in Decatur. My problem: I had to wait for three years to pass after the foreclosure on my previous home. When it came time to make the deal final, the well-known bank in Decatur, after having given me pre-approval, decided against final approval, which would have resulted in the loss of nearly $15K and would have necessitated moving without a chance to find worthy lodgings. The closing date had been changed from April 1 to April 15 to April 30 to May 7. The owner was adamant about no extensions after May 7, and I was in a real pickle. The realtor suggested Starkey Mortgage and asked whether I would mind if she had the well-known bank in Decatur forward my application to Starkey. I agreed. It was the BEST decision I could have made! Kim King, Mortgage Loan Officer, called me at home two days later on a Friday night, and we spoke for nearly two hours. She was so understanding and so friendly. She "got" my situation immediately and immediately offered hope. Kim spent that weekend going through my file and, come Monday, requested several documents, which I supplied. Saturday she called in the early evening to tell me that she had received initial approval via the automated system, but that final approval awaited. She was quite hopeful. Then I started dealing with Andrea Basilides, Senior Loan Processor. She was as pleasant, helpful, and professional as Kim had been. She requested proof of my monthly rent-to-own payments, and I provided them. Within two days, I was approved for my loan! Closing occurred May 9, only two days late for owner who was as happy as I at closing. In fact, in order to make this happen fast, Starkey allowed the realtor to obtain a closing lawyer to expedite the closing and faxed relevant documents to the lawyer that morning as we conducted the closing. I received several texts from both Kim and Andrea the days preceding and the day of the closing telling me what to expect. Closing costs were reasonable, and the monies I had to spend at closing were greatly lower than what I had expected. That allowed me to use funds to pay off several credit cards (but not close them), which frees up money that I can use to pay extra against my mortgage. Both Kim and Andrea have followed up with me to make sure everything went fine at the closing and that everything is going fine in my home. What wonderful ladies! I highly recommend Starkey Mortgage (Kennesaw branch). Kim King and Andrea Basilides do a superb job, care about their clients, and are angels in this world.

We were set to close and then found out the beginning of that week that they needed 1 more thing from us. Not sure why this wasn't asked for in beginning when they asked for all other documents. My family was so excited for this New chapter but thanks to RON it was shattered. How can he go ahead and approve someone andd have the closing dat we but wait til th e Monday before closing , which was set for that Friday. Horrible business management, Ron had a very cocky and " I know it all" demeanor to the point where he made us feel like we were lower the dirt. Bottom line is dont let this chump by the name of RON do your mortgage. All he cares about is getting his money and doesn't care how the customers outcome is. CLASSLESS, RUDE, ARROGANT, AND OVER ALL HES JUSY AN ASS HOLE. Let's not forget the $500 we had to pay him that was never spoken of until he screwed us over. Like I said ..he only wants money but when you have to go the route he did to get money it is obvious that your company isn't doing to well..Maybe change the name to "GEORGIA SHIT MORTGAGE" bc honestly there is nothing thay shows "platinum" from them.
