I visited Christ Church over the holiday season and was immediately hooked! The people were so inviting and welcoming! I felt comfortable the moment I walked in. The congregation is beautifully diverse, and so is the ministerial staff. The music is uplifting, the message is powerful, and I always leave feeling inspired and loved. The Christmas show was absolutely fantastic, which led me to attend a regular Sunday morning service. It lasted just under 90 minutes, and I left feeling empowered, like I could conquer the world. I've been back several times since, and each visit somehow tops the last! Like others have mentioned, the only downside is parking. It's in downtown Montclair, which can get busy. I usually park at a nearby school a couple of blocks away and walk over which is not ideal for everyone, but it works for me. There's some limited street parking, but the best strategy is to attend the first morning service at 9 a.m. and arrive around 8:15-8:30. That way, you can usually snag a spot nearby. Overall, I have little to no complaints. Christ Church offers so much -- life groups, a children's ministry, a teen ministry, a marriage ministry -- so many opportunities to connect and grow. They need to stop shining the three lights directly above the TV monitor on the stage of this church DIRECTLY INTO THE AUDIENCES EYES. These lights are very bright and blinding and the church shines them directly into everyone in the pews eyes literally blinding them so that noone can even look towards the stage without going through eye torture and scarring. That is why noone in the pews (especially the center pews) can even look towards the stage without being literally blinded with blind spots immediately forming. That is why everyone has to look down that is sitting in the front or they look at the TV to the side rather than being blinded. It is absolutely absurd. Even the TV monitor in the q room is flashing and blinding. Noone should have to go blind to go to church. There is absolutely no reason for these three bright stage lights specifically to be shining directly towards everyone in the audiences eyes . The only reason I can even think of is so that they can see peoples faces for their video that noone consented to be in!!!! I will not be returning to this selfish church because I will not go blind its definetely not worth it. They could be doing a lot more for all the people that attend this church besides maken them go blind like some cops with three giant flashlights in your face for no reason. This is the most welcoming place of worship I have ever attended. They have some of the best leaders and the congregation is so loving. They present the word in a manner that is provoking and educational. I always walk away feeling transformed and inspired to learn more about the Word. Great place for all ages. read more

Wow is this church beautiful. Its very large and impressive from both the outside and the inside. I'm not a member and have been here only for weddings and christenings. Nice upbeat events. It looked great for those. Parking here is ok, but if its a big wedding, get here early. Especially if you have on a fancy dress and heels, parking close is better. Or get dropped off and picked up of course. read more

This home to people from all walks of life. You walk in and you feel human all over again. The smiles, the hugs, and humane treatment you receive makes life what its supposed to be, full of love, full of life, and full of people like you and me. To us this is home to our spiritual growth, and the messages shared from week to week lasts a lifetime. We've grown a lot by coming here and we truly feel like family. On days when we don't make it to Church we have options to watch the services live online via mobile devices and Apple TV most of the time. The worship is invigorating and brings new life and joy of serving God. We are truly delighted to be part of this family and if you don't have a place of worship, don't hesitate to experience what we're blessed to experience often. This is of course my church so I'm going to give it an amazing rating. I am not bias in review tho since it took me 3 years to join. The main pastor Dr Ireland is truly fulfilling his calling, he was born to preach the gospel. Some of the other pastors are good as well but I particularly love the founder and His sermons. Sat night service is awesome and very full of life since the youth is there, it has a different vibe and energy. The congregation is very sweet and welcoming bunch of people who are also very talented at singing and other things of the arts. Most of all I love that this is a teaching church, one that is centered in education and growth of your walk. I appreciated seeing many doctorate level educators leading the church, that is very inspiring. They have many bible classes and groups to join. The worship team is amazingly blessed with power house voices and beautiful instrumental gifts. One of my favorites is Mr. Clay on the piano...truly gifted man. Love the work we are doing all over the world and the expansion that's happening as well. The parking def could be better but once you get to know Montclair you understand where to park quickly. A few improvements Id make is to have better clarity on classes and when they are available. Once they are announced in church- if you forget or don't write it down, no one ever knows in the information center and then I can't go if I don't know when. It's great to have such nice volunteers but I think the information center needs more information haha! Many times I've had to hunt down info. And when I call the church to find things out I get transferred around and leave vm's that aren't always returned. I do like and use the app but unless the event is already in motion, generally the info isn't up ahead of time. I'd also love for the church to stream every service. That would be awesome and great for people who can't come because they don't live nearby. But Christ church is such a blessing in my life and the spirit is strong in this house! The choir is great! The people are awesome. Yes, parking is a problem but that's a small price to pay. I absolutely love everything about this church except for the main pastor [Franklin]. I've been here countless times and there are some amazing pastors on staff that do an awesome job. I'm sure that Franklin just isn't my cup of tea. I visited this church today. I had heard some good things and finally went today since I missed my regular church service. I will start with the good things and end with why I only gave this church 3 stars. The church is a pretty stone church on the outside and pretty chapel like sanctuary stained glass and some high ceilings. The guest woman praising and singing was the best. Her voice was beautiful and the holy spirit was everywhere. People were very friendly/welcoming and helpful. So, when I arrived there is no church lot which took us forever to find and walk to church with a toddler. They took a lot of the sermon time to baptize like 4 children. The worst part is the message was only about tithing. They started a new program there called 316 which had a message behind it that didn't make sense. This wasn't the original pastor preaching. They gave a card at walk-in of how much to increase your already tithing by percentages and weekly/monthly/annually break down. All I can say is I understand the concept of it but to make the whole sermon about it is tacky and unprofessional. I came here for a loving and supportive message and all I got was to give money to church like their in some kind of crisis. I felt empty when I left and I won't be returning. I just wanted people like me to know what the principles are of this church. Very uncomfortable. read more

There's not enough stars to give this church. This church is by far the most uplifting church in the area. Upon entering you'll feel the presence of the Lord. The pastoral team is great. The child care services are impeccable. My son runs to child service he loves it so much. The spirit moves you in this place..
