The congregation is beautifully diverse, and so is the ministerial staff. The music is uplifting, the message is powerful, and I always leave feeling inspired and loved. The Christmas show was absolutely fantastic, which led me to attend a regular Sunday morning service. It lasted just under 90 minutes, and I left feeling empowered, like I could conquer the world. I've been back several times since, and each visit somehow tops the last! Like others have mentioned, the only downside is parking. It's in downtown Montclair, which can get busy. I usually park at a nearby school a couple of blocks away and walk over which is not ideal for everyone, but it works for me. There's some limited street parking, but the best strategy is to attend the first morning service at 9 a.m. and arrive around 8:15-8:30. That way, you can usually snag a spot nearby. Overall, I have little to no complaints. Christ Church offers so much -- life groups, a children's ministry, a teen ministry, a marriage ministry -- so many opportunities to connect and grow. I truly feel at home here and look forward to returning again and again

They need to stop shining the three lights directly above the TV monitor on the stage of this…read morechurch DIRECTLY INTO THE AUDIENCES EYES. These lights are very bright and blinding and the church shines them directly into everyone in the pews eyes literally blinding them so that noone can even look towards the stage without going through eye torture and scarring. That is why noone in the pews (especially the center pews) can even look towards the stage without being literally blinded with blind spots immediately forming. That is why everyone has to look down that is sitting in the front or they look at the TV to the side rather than being blinded. It is absolutely absurd. Even the TV monitor in the q room is flashing and blinding. Noone should have to go blind to go to church. There is absolutely no reason for these three bright stage lights specifically to be shining directly towards everyone in the audiences eyes . The only reason I can even think of is so that they can see peoples faces for their video that noone consented to be in!!!! I will not be returning to this selfish church because I will not go blind its definetely not worth it. They could be doing a lot more for all the people that attend this church besides maken them go blind like some cops with three giant flashlights in your face for no reason. This is a friendly, inclusive congregational church affiliated with the United Church of Christ…read more I've attended for a few years and love that it is an openly progressive congregation that is committed to social justice. They have a sign on one side of the front door that says "Jesus didn't turn people away. Neither do we" and a rainbow flag on the other - amazing! The sanctuary is breathtakingly beautiful with soaring arches and a labyrinth stained in the floor. Another bonus is that my child loves Sunday School.

STL also hosts Toni's kitchen which is a mission to feed those less fortunate through consignment and used good sales. God truly loves and lives here.

Like most churches, it's a business. Most churches are started in commercial zones so they can…read moreprovide parking lots. This church owns three "buildings" on a residential street. They're a nuisance to the residents on Williams and Eaton Street. They're always parking in front of driveways multiple times per week. They have Sunday services but also events during the week too. These people are just plain annoying. Sure, it's a public street but that last time I checked these scam churches are tax exempt. There are two large banks that are closed Sunday but they have to park a tad closer and block our driveways.
