They have attended catechism, received baptism, 1st Holly Communion, and sing/play the piano/ukulele during mass. It's nice to come to a place where you see familiar friendly faces and they in turn know you and your family. In this community, they know my kids more than myself or my husband since they are often here for choir practice, church functions or volunteering. This church has gone through many improvements through the years. -Bathroom upgrade (although, they should have more than 1 stall) -Ceiling Fans -Speakers/Microphones -Red Carpet Stage for the choir -Grotto (Mother Mary Statue on the side of the church) -Bingo Monday -Children's Choir, Youth Choir -Love how we can follow along with the choir on the projector screen -Attend the 1st weekend mass of the month and get blessed for your birthday and wedding anniversary! I absolutely LOVE our new priest, Father Richie. He is easy to understand, relates to everyone, meaningful, funny, and genuinely a kind person. This church is full of friendly smiles and welcomes all. I love this little church in Milpitas =)

They have the best songs and singing group of the three churches nearest to me (St. Clare's, Our Lady of Peace). They also have 12:30 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday Masses which can be very convenient. The notable thing about St. John the Baptist Church is that the congregation is about 95% Filipino. And the priests are all Filipino, too. There are lots of mentions in the homilies of the priests' lives growing up in the Philippines, and recently there was a collection to benefit the devastion caused by a recent typhoon that hit the country. The people are really warm and friendly, probably the friendliest of the three nearby churches. Once the priest mentioned that the Phillippines had the highest percentage of Catholics of any country in Asia. I had my doubts, so when I got home I looked up East Timor and noted that it had 8% more Catholics than the Philippines. I e-mailed that information to a priest at St. John the Baptist, but he never wrote back. I am such a dork. The homilies are interesting - the priests tell interesting stories - but ultimately aren't as affecting as the homilies at St. Clare's. Be careful parking in the back lot - people box you in with their cars during Mass, so you might have to wait a bit to get out.

Went to SJ checked out a few then found redemption Here I am able to apply the preaching to my life. I truly learned and understood the meaning of the holly spirt how it lives in me and teaches me. I also learned understand speaking in tongues. When I was going through the hardest time of my Life in and out of the hospital with anxiety the sermons were on point and help guide me with using the keys of the kingdom. I understood what it's is being "yoked" and family curses. I can easily go back and listen to the sermons.

In 2015 we moved out from the bay area, but everytime we visit bay area my family always come to this church now called "Redemption" I see few concerns with the reviews are about volume of instruments were so loud. We noticed that also, sometimes it's hard to hear the lyrics of the song. My concern is like this, Growing up as a child going to Pentecostal church "speaking in tongue" is not new to me. My first experienced speaking in tongue when I was 12years old it was during a revival night in our church. I also witness pastor Ron speaking in tongue during his sermon. In two sundays not consecutive when I genuinely worship and praised God I was moved with the "holy spirit" and received the gift and started speaking in tongue. Suddenly, I was distracted from my concentrated worship when someone was holding my hands! When I opened my eyes there were like 4-5 people grabbing me and want to bring me somewhere in a small room. I was like, what is going on? I was totally distracted and surprised. One of them keep asking me are you okay? Over and over! Are you scared of the music because it was loud? I was like are these people know what they are doing? I was totally disappointed, my genuine worship to God was stopped. Do these people experience receiving the holy spirit through speaking in tongue? The young pastor keeps talking about holy spirit! But my question is are those people that grabbing me and bring me somewhere are knowledgeable about speaking in tongue and holy spirit? In our church where my family moved to this is normal. The assembly of God, because everyone new and totally understood what the holy spirit can do! I am not doing it on my own, it was the power of God that touched me. This happened last Sunday July 19, 2026. After the serviced my husband was really disappointed of what he was witnessed. Now I am worried, when I come back to this church do I have to hold my prayer, my tears during worship because I am sure those people are going to grab me again! I pray to God that those people will not be ignorant to God's power. They should know the word of God in Acts 2:4, I Corinthians 14:2, and Jude 1:20 Experiencing and receiving the power of the holy spirit is not from my own knowledge, it's God's power that touched me. Hoping and praying that everyone can experience the power of the holy spirit. I pray that they welcome holy spirit in their lives.

Finding a church that fits your whole family is hard. A few years ago, we were searching for a…read morechurch that could help our family grow -- one our kids would love, with a good kids ministry where they'd learn, thrive, and feel comfortable (my youngest daughter is very attached), and one where my husband and I could grow in our faith and be spoken to at our level. The kids and I were nervous on our first day, but I'm happy to report that after four years, the entire family enjoys going to Echo Church. All our kids love the kids ministry -- including my attached daughter. She enjoys going to church, dancing on stage, and reporting back to me everything she's learned, how God loves her (it's SO sweet), and all the crafts she made. That alone tells me we found the right place. I'd describe Echo as a very modern church -- they adapt well to the fast-moving Silicon Valley environment. They're fun, but they also dig into deep subjects that are 100% relatable. A personal story: I've been a Christian almost all my life but never got baptized until I came to Echo. Somehow, Pastor Sarah, through one sermon, explained in her own words why baptism matters -- and after years of fighting it, it was like God spoke through her. Another sermon of hers moved me to forgive someone I'd held so much anger toward, someone I had decided never to speak to again. That's the kind of impact this church has had on me. They offer multiple morning services plus an early afternoon one, so it's easy to find a time that works. I love this church and all the amazing things they're doing for the community and the world -- their love for God and the community shows in great volumes. I appreciate all the time the staff spends making everything engaging, from the materials to the fun outreach programs. Thank you to all the staff at Echo Church!

When I first moved to the Bay Area, I was searching for a church and was looking for two things 1)…read morea strong community and 2) a place where I could serve the people. LSCC is rooted in both. Small groups are located all around the Bay, and LSCC continually provides opportunities for leadership. The church is small, about 70 members and 30-40 present at each service. It's a good size if you're interested in getting to know the people that make up LSCC. After service, they encourage LSL (Living Stones Lunch), where all attendees are encouraged to fellowship with one another. You'll find people here that just graduated college, young professionals, and new families. There's a great children's ministry now, with ~15 kids, ranging from newborn to 10 years old. You'll also find people with all kinds of passions, (to name a few, music, climbing, gaming, sports) and there are even ministries dedicated to each. I would encourage others to check it out! Who doesn't need a great community?!?

I've been looking for a church because growing up Christian, I want my family to experience the Holy Spirt as I do. I've been struggling spiritually, and I've been praying to find people to help me through this process. However, today instead of getting empathy and compassion for my situation; people looked at me with judgement and even someone yelled at my son because he was having a hard time. For those who understand about how the enemy works, sometimes it uses what you love the most to prevent you from getting close to God. Today, I felt every little thing was happening to me was the enemy trying to stop me from receiving what God intended to. The only thing I can request is please be empathetic because you don't know what spiritual battles people are going through. I know the Holy Spirit and I've experienced God before so I don't take this personal. However, it's important as Christians to lead with compassion and love. Sometimes people haven't had the opportunity to experience God, and the only thing they need throughout the way is someone to reach out to them with intention and love. Sometimes getting close to God is not easy, there are battles that people have to overcome and when the enemy knows you have a special purpose it will put you on situations where your character will be challenged. Today I needed intervention, compassion, love and understanding.
