Leadership reflects congregation. At convergence, there was a welcoming team. They did the classic greeting team duty, but one of the ladies bought me coffee and simply wanted to get to know me. Then I walked into the sanctuary where you could feel the presence of the Lord. Worship was an hour long, and there was so much passion on the stage it didn't feel like a performance. Instead, we were corporately engaging in worshipping Jesus. There was time of greeting, but no 5 second awkwardly say hi to your neighbor. It was an extended amount of time where you really got to meet new people and connect with old friends. Then the message came. Wow, there is power, conviction, and authenticity that comes from the stage. Afterwards, some of my neighbors invited me to eat lunch with them. At the end of the day if you want a church where you can check off the box, this isn't the place for you. But if you want a church where you can experience God in deeper and new ways, I welcome you into my new family. read more

I am exploring a new church for my family. I visited the you tube channel and around 1 hour mark, pastor starts talking about identity. There are only two kinds, male and female. For many, this might be ok, but I have teens and inclusivity is a must to influence them. The music was wonderful so I added a star for that. My family and I been attending (CHOP) convergence house of prayer for about a year. Since attending this church, we have seen the presence of God just touch and move people in ways I have never seen before. The facility is huge but you'll never feel lost here. I've been attending this church since 2010. I left the mega church for something smaller and got more than I ever could have imagined or hoped for. I've attended school of supernatural ministry (CSSM) and have grown exponentially. I even got my prayer language, which I didn't think I would ever get. There's lots of impartation, fire tunnels, healings and so much more. It's official: I'm now a presence junkie. I can't get enough of Jesus' presence. I wasn't sure about coming to the prayer room between Sundays but when the pastor's wife made the suggestion, I tried it. Now I host the prayer room, regularly attend EGS services and Sundays are absolutely awesome. I shouldn't have been so surprised since the directors of the prayer room, Nina and Ryan Landis, have 10 years experience building and sustaining 24/7 worship at IHOP-KC. Jaye Thomas dropped in on Sunday worship just because he was in town. I loved it. Did I mention the conferences we host? Pursuit, Declaring His Worth, Convergence, Theology of 24/7 prayer seminar. We've had Earl Johnson, Bill Johnson, Kris Valloton, Allen Hood, Corey Russell, Eric Johnson, Laura Hackett, Cassie Campbell, and Stephen Venable visit for various conferences. For our upcoming second-annual Convergence conference Allen Hood returns and brings his colleague, Johnny Enlow, author of The Seven Mountain Prophecy. When we move into our new building at the end of 2013, we will have Bill Johnson and possibly even Mike Bickle. I'm personally praying for Matt Gilman to join us also. If you want to grow closer to Jesus, move in your spiritual gifts and influence others for the cause of Christ, then you have found the right place. It's small, intimate and growing. If you like free flowing, spirit-led worship, honest and Biblical truth based sermon dotted with humor and kind and patient people who pray for your every need after each service, this church is for you. They just moved to their new building which is spacious and filled with warmth. They have a barista/coffee server station before and after service and also a packed weekday schedule of worship and spoken word sessions so for those looking for a place to chill and hear from God during the week, it's a good place to find rest. Also come visit if you're a fan of Bethel church in Redding, CA, lover of Bethel Music and Jesus Culture, IHOP (international house of prayer), and Iris Ministries (Heidi and Rolland Baker). Convergence is my favorite place to worship when I am visiting the Bay Area. I am a native of Redding and a longtime attendee of Bethel Church and this place does such a fine job of hosting the presence of God. It's not surprising since Pastor Wendi is Bill Johnson's sister, but it's more than that. Not content on just being another copy of Bethel or IHOP the Simas' have created their own culture and their own anointing. CHOP is a place filled with the Holy Spirit. The worship is prophetic, spontaneous and unwilling to yield to anything and instead let the Spirit have complete control at all times. Pastor Greg has a clear, concise and timely exegesis of Scripture and his messages are peppered with humor and a relatable quality that makes them understandable to every person in the attendance, regardless of how long they have been walking with the Lord. The church is more IHOP than Bethel in terms of charismatic level and that's totally fine! There are times during worship when the presence of God becomes so thick and tangible it's almost unbearable. In that moment, heaven is opened and the goodness and the love of the Father is released onto the crowd and you can literally see the chains breaking off people. Houses of Prayer focus on the heart of intimacy with Jesus and allow people to get fully connect with God so they can be changed by His presence and not motivation. Prayer room Generals Ryan and Nina Landis create an atmosphere which births freedom and joy. I visited this Church on a visit and the worship and preaching didn't disappoint. After attending Convergence House of Prayer for a year and a half, my husband and I can safely call this church our home. Not only is it aesthetically beautiful, the people here are even better. When you first walk in you will see a really cool coffee bar to your left where they may really great "hipster" coffee. I'm not much of a coffee drinker and even their coffee could convert me. Their baristas are super professional and skilled at their craft. The church has a very industrial and hipster vibe to it, wood and metal details that are really beautiful. The main sanctuary has an awesome wood ceiling that goes from the front to the back. It's meant to symbolize that the church's "ceiling" would only be the "floor" for the next generations. They are always striving for the more of God and greater intimacy and revelation of who Jesus is. Their main sanctuary transforms into a prayer room throughout the week where they have live devotionals (a person who is singing and playing an instrument) and live full band sets where they sing out of scripture or prayer sing for different topics that are on their heart for Fremont or for the nation. The worship is similar to Bethel and IHOP but the musicians bring a fresh spin and style to the music. The worship leaders here are super anointed and musically talented. The worship here has really spoken to my heart in difficult times and the presence of God is thick. The church falls under the Assemblies of God denomination. The leadership here is truly passionate to see that their congregation and the city be transformed for God's glory. Pastor Simas brings fresh, convicting and powerful messages on Sundays in a genuine and humble manner. You can tell that the leadership doesn't just put a show on for Sundays but are truly dedicating time and passion into their ministry. If you get the chance, you should come by and check this church out. If not for service, their coffee bar and prayer are open Tuesdays-Saturdays from 8:00AM to 3:00PM. If you need a space to think, pray, or just rest, this is the place to come. The awesome thing about this church is that you don't necessarily have to be a member or ongoing attendee to be involved in different ministries. Inner healing, prophetic, prayer room worship, kid's ministry, etc. They really try to cover it all here. They are very family oriented here. I am a born and raised SoCal girl and moved up here last year after getting married. This place has truly been such a gift to me and has helped me to feel like I could call NorCal home. I went here Sunday as a first time guest. I love that they have an extra long worship. I feel that it is important to give honor & glory to God & worship is a fabulous way to do so. Usually I can feel God's presence in a church by touch or with how strongly God speaks to me. This place is truly blessed my God. My connected with him felt very solid here. The intercessor who spoke was more of a kick-back type of person with some slang in her speech. It made it entertaining and I could see even older adults were getting the message to sink in. The building itself is awesome & such well designed. It has a modern industrial flair with old fashion vintage wood appeal. The mixture sounds odd but it really mixed well & I enjoyed the artistic creativity. I would have loved to hear a bit more about outreach or other projects but the church hasn't even had a "grand opening" yet & they are working on programs in order of importance so set a solid foundation to build upon. read more
