I've been to over 30 churches and hands down best place I've been. I was raised in SC and attended Tein lakes church for 12yrs then Liberty baptist for 5 years, then Harbor light for 2yrs. Went to SJ checked out a few then found redemption Here I am able to apply the preaching to my life. I truly learned and understood the meaning of the holly spirt how it lives in me and teaches me. I also learned understand speaking in tongues. When I was going through the hardest time of my Life in and out of the hospital with anxiety the sermons were on point and help guide me with using the keys of the kingdom. First of all I don't know how exactly I am going to start my review. Well, I would say 16 years ago we came to this church as "Jubille" Pastor Bernal was the pastor, & We loved it! In 2015 we moved out from the bay area, but everytime we visit bay area my family always come to this church now called "Redemption" I see few concerns with the reviews are about volume of instruments were so loud. We noticed that also, sometimes it's hard to hear the lyrics of the song. My concern is like this, Growing up as a child going to Pentecostal church "speaking in tongue" is not new to me. My first experienced speaking in tongue when I was 12years old it was during a revival night in our church. I also witness pastor Ron speaking in tongue during his sermon. In two sundays not consecutive when I genuinely worship and praised God I was moved with the "holy spirit" and received the gift and started speaking in tongue. Suddenly, I was distracted from my concentrated worship when someone was holding my hands! When I opened my eyes there were like 4-5 people grabbing me and want to bring me somewhere in a small room. I was like, what is going on? I was totally distracted and surprised. One of them keep asking me are you okay? Over and over! Are you scared of the music because it was loud? I was like are these people know what they are doing? I was totally disappointed, my genuine worship to God was stopped. Do these people experience receiving the holy spirit through speaking in tongue? The young pastor keeps talking about holy spirit! But my question is are those people that grabbing me and bring me somewhere are knowledgeable about speaking in tongue and holy spirit? In our church where my family moved to this is normal. The assembly of God, because everyone new and totally understood what the holy spirit can do! I am not doing it on my own, it was the power of God that touched me. This happened last Sunday July 19, 2026. After the serviced my husband was really disappointed of what he was witnessed. Now I am worried, when I come back to this church do I have to hold my prayer, my tears during worship because I am sure those people are going to grab me again! I pray to God that those people will not be ignorant to God's power. They should know the word of God in Acts 2:4, I Corinthians 14:2, and Jude 1:20 Experiencing and receiving the power of the holy spirit is not from my own knowledge, it's God's power that touched me. The church definitely has a high-energy, concert-style atmosphere, there's a DJ outside, greeters dancing around, flashy cars in the huge parking lot, and a production-heavy vibe. If you're new to church or enjoy a very lively, event-like experience, this might appeal to you. What surprised me, though, was how much of the service felt like advertising for upcoming paid programs. It felt longer than the actual message itself. When Pastor Ron came up to give the sermon, I expected some teaching or guidance. Instead, he mostly repeated short phrases like "God is good" or "Hallelujah" a few times, then closed with a very brief prayer, just a couple sentences. That's completely valid as a form of worship, but if you're looking for a sermon with teaching, Scripture breakdown, or practical application, this church may leave you feeling like something's missing. I really love this church, so much. I have been to the 9am service the past like 7 Sundays. But my ears hurt so bad by the time I leave. The volume here is cranked up to the max its so loud. A few Sundays ago I got a headache after service and it felt like my hearing was fuzzy for the rest of the day. I really love the worship but unfortunately I may not be able to attend too much longer. I tried the ear plugs but then I cant hear or feel anything :/ Hopefully it can be lowered a bit. Came here for a concert. Quality/Quantity - Redemption Church is huge, approximately 2000 seats. Sold out concert by Phil Wichham, Leeland Mooring, and Matt Maher was GREAT. I enjoy these smaller venues versus the big stadiums. Thank you. Atmosphere - Good size location. Almost all the seats had good views of the stage. Easy in and out. Service - Excellent parking, greeters, etc. Did a very good job managing the two lines; early entry line and general admission. Did a GREAT job with scanning tickets and getting everyone through the doors in a timely fashion. My door greeter even told me where to go for the best seats! Merchandise for sale, expensive. But we are not just paying $40+ tax for a t-shirt, I am paying for a GREAT memory for my daughter. :) Price - $30 per ticket + $9 fee per ticket. Inexpensive for a concert in my opinion. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1991, looking forward to coming here for more events. read more

My fiancé and I recently visited this church for the first time, and we genuinely wanted to love it. There's so much potential here--welcoming community, a great message, and a sense of energy that's refreshing. You can tell the people here care. But the volume... wow. It was uncomfortably loud. We expected lively worship, but this felt more like a concert at a stadium. The sound system was overpowering to the point that we left with our ears ringing. I kept waiting for someone to turn it down--or for others to say something--but it seems like no one does. Maybe they're used to it? It's really unfortunate, because we actually liked a lot about it and wanted to come back. But physically, we just couldn't take it. I wish there were a way to enjoy everything they have to offer without leaving with a headache. If they ever address the sound levels, we'd definitely reconsider. read more

I've been coming to this church prior to this becoming Redemption, and then it was called Jubilee. It was a similar concept, so I was just as excited with Ron and Hope as the new owners too! I've been going in person and pursuing online church services with Redemption Church since they've opened and I absolutely love to call this place as My home church. Ron makes it so much easier for me to understand the word broken down and want to learn more about our Lord and Savior daily. And Hope has this aura of being someone who id be able to open up to if ever I had the chance which means when she peaches the word, I don't feel mislead. Im constantly craving and excited to hear the words every Sunday and more, that I watch weekly on demand as well and can't wait to share what I just watched with everyone. I attended my very first conference this weekend at the church and am just so proud of myself and the many women who committed their life to Jesus that day! I was in search for a church for awhile now. Looking on yelp and google. Since covid I was attending Elevation Church online and also have attended many churches in the Bay Area. Attempting to find a church to call home. I visited Redemption Church today and it was the most phenomenal experience. Everyone was so welcoming! When I say everyone, I mean everyone. Thank you all for the warm welcome. It's intimidating going to a new church especially one as big but in those little moments of welcome I was able to see Gods love working through each encounter. Stephanie, Bradly and Regina Thank you Worship service was so so so incredible ! To see all the youth get excited praising God! So powerful! This church is doing good things! The worship team set my soul on fire, getting ready to receive the word. Pastor Ron! What a great sermon. He was able to read good amount of scripture and preach effectively on how we can apply it to our life. He was able to keep me engaged and was funny. This church is a great place if you want motivational speaking using God's name and twisting Bible verses; this church is bad place if you actually want to be fed with Scripture. I wonder how many congregants are actually saved and have actually heard the Gospel that saves. I grew up in this church (I attended the 5th & 6th grades group, then the Urgency youth group, and then the main sanctuary service when the church was still called Jubilee) and don't remember hearing about how we all sinners, there is a hell, and we need to be saved. I never heard that we need to believe in Jesus as Savior and be saved from God's judgement. However, I did hear about how we should give money and get "the blessing" from God; it's very "name it and claim it" prosperity "gospel" stuff (think Joel Osteen, etc.) If you truly want to learn about Jesus Christ and the meat of the Bible, don't come here. I personally recommend that you want to connect and grow, check out a good independent Baptist church that believes in soul winning evangelism. read more

I love this church because it is unique and so diverse. It is safe to say that there is no other church quite like this in the Bay Area. You will always be greeted with a smile and a handshake when you come in. The parking lot is always filled with energy and they even have a live DJ playing music as you walk in. I have been a Christian for most of my life and have known God personally since I was 5yo. I have been to many churches. I grew up catholic in Italy, was adopted by an American family who was catholic. My adoptive parents told us as we grew up that we can go to any church when we become adults as long as it was Christian. I am a victim of abuse and life has been super challenging for me. I have never believed in myself and only through God and Jesus have I been able to survive!!! I have struggled with depression all my life and although I have actively been going to church all my American life and yes I found refuge in all my various church experiences and have loved all my pastors in my life. BUT not ever have I received the blessing which I received from Ron Carpenter of Redemption San Jose. I am 62 yo now and feel delivered from my depression. I find his teachings enthralling and fulfilling! I keep receiving the Holy Spirit and I am realizing that we don't have to wait till we're in heaven to have joy peace and love. Realizing that we can enjoy this life by having a one on one with God and Jesus now and be able to enjoy our lives. I never realized that God has gifted us with worldly blessings. Pastor Ron gave me an undeniable belief of God's plan for us. Bottom line is that everything is in the Bible. Read it from beginning to end and you can see that all of our government laws are based on the Bible! People don't be blind. I wanted to call the church and tell them if My sister and I ever Get treated the way we did yesterday we will not be back. We both have knee problems and we have to use canes. Its hard enough to walk up the ramp but when we got inside the so called greeters would not let us go through the first door where we always sit. They both looked at each other and shrugged like to say oh well. We almost went home. So we had to walk in the middle and sit there. It was so cold by those doors and very noisy .Nobody closed the doors. I have been coming here since the early 2000 and I have never been Treated like this its like the disabled doesn't matter. read more

This church is come has you are. I'm shocked by some of the people's comments on here. The comment someone made about a person who was on staged, based on how they looked, is shocking to me. It's people like that who judge others based on how they look, act, and dress that turn people away from God and church. And I'm going to get up and make a fool of myself and show that love for the lord too. God has changed my life, and I'm ok in making fool of myself and shouting that love. Absolutely love this place. I've been going here since I was 10 years old, when it was called Jubilee Christian Center. Redemption Church's staff and volunteers are so kind, pleasant and welcoming. From the moment you drive in the parking lot, you have attendants guiding you on where to park. Golf carts drive around the entire lot picking up people who need assistance getting to the front door. As you walk in, you hear music playing and there are staff waiting to welcome you in and find you a good seat. The music is a mixture of older favorites with some new ones you've probably heard on Air 1 or K-Love radio stations. Even if you've never been here before. Come in and see what it's all about. No pressure or judgment from anyone. This is a non-denominational Christian Church. The new pastor, Ron Carpenter, is anointed and always brings a powerful message. Best church in The Bay Area. My mother has been taking me and my siblings here since I was a baby in 1999 and it was Jubilee. I'm blessed!! It's always so much fun. I always leave blessed and confident that generational curses are being cast off of our church congregation and all families who attend, as Pastors lead us deeper with Jesus than the time before. There's other churches we've tried are helpful with getting close to God and also have amazing people, but life really has changed since God has brought our family back to this church after it became Redemption since we had no car for a while. I never really felt comfortable praising, dancing, worshipping, clapping or singing (basically expressing myself at all) in front of other people but I do now because I feel like I have an identity that I didn't have before going to Redemption, I've changed a lot so has the content I consume and people I talked to because I don't feel so isolated anymore. Every week seeing the church crowd grow in size and seeing young people like me being changed before my eyes has deepened my faith , gotten me excited to be apart of something that includes me and helped me be less anxious / so worried or be negative all the time. We've watched people be healed and sickness cast out of people in the name of Jesus during their talented energetic Worship time with their very own band and with help of their caring staff. The pastors messages will connect you with the things God has in store for us in which you cannot see but can only feel and experience through receiving a Prophetic message from a pastor the Lord has blessed to speak truth over your life. The busy Silicon Valley will usually not offer you any space to open up and feel comfortable being your true self and get loud and excited during praise and worship unless a worship band is visiting the city on a tour, but Redemption church will let you be yourself and nobody will judge you. I'm really excited to see the church grow as more people come to know the lord that visit the church during the events they do. I went to this church today and it was the worst church service I have ever been to. It felt like a very long advertisement for the, "Name it and Claim it prosperity deception doctrine". The worship music was so loud that I had to walk out. It was so hyped up and the message was all about prosperity which is not biblical sound gospel. Not a bible based church. That is not how Jesus taught but the pastors at this church reaped their prosperity by messing with the minds of their flock. I already knew the first pastor. He screwed up a friend of mine and the new one is just the same. No Jesus in this church. Just ask and you will receive. The big lie.
