Thing Two came…read morehere for the first time this summer and participated in the week-long faith-based day camp from June 26th to June 30th, led by Pastor L.J. MuCulloch. This camp is designed for Kinder through 5th graders (who have just graduated 5th grade) and runs from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM each day. Children who participate in this camp play games, read scripture, and parents can purchase Chick-fil-A meals for $12.00 per day for kiddos. Each day, the children learn about various bible passages that align with the theme of the camp. Each summer, the camp theme changes, and this year, it was "Road Trip" (taking a trip to discover Christ). On the last day of camp, parents are invited to camp to hear 'the word' with their children, learn about what has been happening throughout the week, and have a meal with their campers. Aside from the faith-based center of the camp, as a parent, I appreciated the communication that was sent to parents daily via email and on paper as well as the security protocols put in place to drop off and pick up campers safely and effectively. As a bonus, professional photos of campers are taken daily doing various types of activities. Parents can view these photos on a private website and download photos of their camper(s). Thing Two liked this camp so much to the point that she asked to volunteer next year at this location. We weren't expecting much as the others were fairly small but the size of this one can be overwhelming. It was multiple stories tall and had piles of things for sale. Each room had more and more vendors. If you're looking for the crafty sort of gifts this place has everything from wood-carved crosses to jewelry to hair ties. Parking was hard despite the large lots because it was overflowing with people. For mobility impaired folks there's only one elevator which can make it hard to navigate as it's also pretty slow.

He is actually an excellent choir director and worship leader, but he does not tolerate any positive suggestions from anyone. Having been kicked out of the choir was quite a blow. As I have been in choirs from elementary school-college, as well as church choirs, it was my conclusion that the worship "minister" was solely about himself - where he had eaten, where he had been, and "it's my way or the highway." Friends also told us that they did not feel welcomed at all, and they went elsewhere. We appreciated the Sr. Minister, but some of the Sunday School leaders were quite "off base." There was no independent thinking amongst the ministerial staff. They automatically agreed with one another. I would not recommend this place of worship to anyone.

In all fairness St John Vianney Catholic Church administration/office allows the use of the church…read moreparking lot for the nearby distribution of food and other items to the individual families. The real problems on using the church parking lot are; 1) the parking lot gets so full parishioners CANNOT get out safe into the parking spaces 2) the entrance and exits are BLOCKED 3) the lot attendants are mostly IGNORANT, RUDE, NO IDEA because the parking lot is a HUGE mess 4) most IMPORTANTLY they block the Sunrise Road which becomes a BIG safety concern/issue. The parish church MUST have a dialogue with the outlying food community in controlling a safe, correct, and limi the cars safe parking lot capacity. The church members of St John Vianney are open and are willing to help and accommodate everyone safely. This parking lot nonsense are causing a lot of inconvenience, anger, safety and lack of control. Those who has authority, do it RIGHT. May the Lord blesses all. Thank you.
