Our Response to Alice N. Husband Andrew on 4-3-19
Hi Andrew, although I thank you for the feed back, I am a little surprised. Let me explain:
1 - Regarding the first issue, The bridal party introductions.
A - You hired your own MC, which means that the MC is responsible for ALL introductions and making sure the reception flows accordingly. My assistant who is an experienced MC intervened numerous times to make sure your MC was aware of what was going on because he did not know. My assistant coordinated with the Maitre D and your MC before the reception started, because even though you did not hire us to MC, we will not sit around and not help if we feel help is needed to make your reception better.
B - Regarding the parents being introduced, again my assistant spoke with the MC and we followed his lead. We were not instructed to either not play any music for the parents or to play some alternative music for the parents. If the MC would have communicated that to us we would have done so.
C - Lastly regarding the MC, he did not even stay until the end when we instructed you to give final remarks to your guests, that is part of the MC's job, yet we made sure it was done as to help you out.
2 - Regarding the brides family requesting music.
A - We were given specific Ballroom dance music to play, which we did play all of them. When they requested songs, we indicated to them that we played the ones that were given to us. We showed them the songs from your list and they indicated that there were other songs that should have been on the list. Which we were not given.
B - Regarding, "an experienced DJ" and pulling other songs, you indicated to me that we should stick to the music you provided. Which we did.
3 - Regarding the open dancing.
A - You did provide some upbeat songs, and we played probably 90% of the songs that were given. The crowd did get up for the group dances but unfortunately most did not respond well to the Ballroom dances which were the biggest requests of the evening.
B - I believe that another issue with the open dancing is that normally the MC is the one to motivate the crowd and encourage them to get on the dance floor, which your MC did not do.
4 - Finally regarding your PS: statement, although you are correct that the issue was not due to our equipment or process, we are sorry that it happened because everyone in that room thinks it was Christian DJ Enterprises that messed up. Your guests do not know that we were given a bad file, they think we messed up, and there is no way for us to correct that perception.
We are truly sorry that you feel the way you do regarding our services. I believe that some of these issues could have been addressed at the reception and adjustments could have been made to your liking. We provided the services that we were contracted for and in some cases went above what we were contracted for. (see number 1). All we can do is the best we can with the information and music that we we given, and I believe we did that.
Regarding your request for a refund, I am a little surprised. In all my years of DJing, I have never been asked to give a refund. I understand that you are not completely satisfied but we did everything that was asked of us and a refund is not warranted. We actually provided services that you were not charged for:
1 - We did not charge you for party lights but provided some basic lighting to try and help make your reception a more festive event at no charge.
2 - We did not charge your for the cocktail hour. Even though we did not play music we normally charge $100 for our time. Which we did not.
3 - I am sure that the Catering hall included a gratuity charge in your bill, whether you were 100% pleased or 75% pleased with their service to you. We did not and never include gratuity in our charge.
If you want to discuss this further please feel free to contact me. I never want to leave a client unhappy about our services and I hope this email clears thing up a bit.
Thank you
Clifton

Hi Clifton,
Sorry for the delayed response, we were out of town for awhile and am now getting caught up on email. I appreciate the thoroughness of your response and agree you raised some valid points. I agree a refund is not warranted in light of everything.
Blessings brother,
