Wow, I don't even know where to start. Christina did an AMAZING job doing our bridal shoot in the Kings Canyon / Sequoia National Park. She was super accommodating about our schedule and was flexible about the time. She also went ahead and scoped out some good places to shoot before we went (since we were going to be in a certain area of the park that she had not shot in before). She had great advice about when to go, to consider light and the time of day, and even the consideration of traffic and parking (it was labor day weekend!). Not to mention, she helped us find a package that would be affordable for us since we are both teachers. During the shoot itself, Christina made us feel so comfortable and really took her time with us. I tend to get nervous and awkward whenever someone is taking a picture of me and she was so great about it. She made us laugh and really brought out the best in us. It truly shows in the photos! She has an incredible eye and was able to pick just the right places to stop and was not afraid to have to climb over a few rocks. She is just plain awesome and I would recommend her to anyone I know! I am just going to echo what everyone has said about Christina. WE LOVE HER!!!! We saw her portfolio and noticed the genuine smiles on everyone and the lighter editing style. It was very refreshing to see this, since the trend these days are dark and serious. She had a few pictures of couples in Sequoia National Park (where our ceremony was going to be held) and knew that she was capable of capturing the beauty of the people and the location. We live in New England and after skyping with her we were hooked. Christina was prompt to respond to our emails and texts, which made cross country planning easy. We flew out a month before the wedding on a very short trip and she managed to fit us in with short notice. She sat with us and came up with a timeline for the day. The timeline was thoughtful, respectful of our time with her, the time at the reception venue and with time with everyone else involved with the wedding! She had us practice some poses that she suggested so we would feel more natural a month later with her. We just wanted to hang out with her all day! Since we were from out of town she also gave great tips about the town of Visalia, which were spot on. The day of the wedding she arrived right on time with plenty of time to set up and she took our "getting ready" photos as requested. She captured our ceremony so beautifully. As I talk to my family after the wedding, they don't even remember seeing her during the ceremony. They also commented how professional she was in organizing my very large family. She was discreet, yet managed to get every angle of this wedding, even though the clouds and sun created some challenging lighting. Afterwards, she took us to some amazing spots in the park to get PHENOMENAL photos. We smiled and laughed the whole time. We were able to be natural in front of her and still embrace our wedding day. She would move our heads, our hands, and at one point apologized for being so detail oriented. I told her it's why we hired her! She took every little thing into consideration. We could have stayed in the park for hours, but again, she was respectful of everyone's time and we arrived on time to the reception. Christina told us 4-6 weeks for delivery of the photos and I'm writing this less than a month after my wedding with pictures in hand! She gave plenty of fun teasers beforehand too. We have yet to see a picture we don't love. She truly captured who we are as a couple and the joy we felt that day. They are exactly what we envisioned upon hiring her. We get to replay that day so perfectly because of how she documented it. It is evident she loves what she does. Her presence shows it, and her photos do even more. When it came time to book a wedding photographer, there was no question that we were hiring CJ Hopper!! I have enormous respect for the team's collective talent. (This isn't me being nice -- you only have to check out their website to see evidence of that talent!) They shot our engagement session and wedding (both in the Monterey area), and did a spectacular job!! Given that neither of us are professional models, we really had no idea what we were doing :-)~ Christina and Jason guided us through the process, told us what to expect, were friendly, prompt, and very informative -- they answered all of our questions and kept the ball rolling. Our wedding day was smooth, easy, and relaxed. (Although I have to say, being told when to kiss your new husband cracked me up :) We got our photos back and they're beyond beautiful! My wife and I felt that a bad situation turned into kismet, because it meant we were steered towards CJ Hopper, which was one of the best parts of our wedding! Our original photographer stopped communicating with us, and sort of fell off the planet, and the wedding venue suggested we take a look at CJ Hopper. Thank goodness we did! Christina and her Assistant, Kim, were absolutely amazing. Christina was great working with us and helping to plan from afar (since we live 3 hours away). We did not have a great idea of what we wanted, or how the wedding photography worked, and she was able to guide us in the right direction. We didn't do engagement photos, which generally gives her an idea of how to photograph us, but you could never tell. We felt very comfortable around Christina and Kim, and almost never knew they were around (they are ninjas!). Our family and friends raved about them as well! Christina was the go-getter, driving us out to a pasture to catch the sunset for a beautiful shot. Kim was cool, calm, and collected, keeping everyone relaxed with her calm energy. They even had to photograph us in the rain, and didn't complain about it! They really hustled and went the extra mile for us. We felt like queens! We booked Christina for our engagements and wedding. She truly did an amazing job at not only capturing the beauty of our special day, but also captured our quirks and personality--and those of our wedding guests.
