I actually found this as I was thinking of Dr Braid still 8 years later since my Mom passed. Dr Braid was outstanding in her care of my mother Beverly and was the main factor of my mother staying alive as long as she did. And I loved how when my Mom went to her office visits that I was last to be heard from as the caregiver because Mom was her patient. But at the end of the appt, she would always ask if there was anything I would like to add. And with Dr Braid my Mother felt she was listened to not just talked at and ignored as she felt with alot of the Mercy San Juan . I just want to add that its not just Mercy but all the health care today that are getting hard to make appts. Heck my 41 year old son just got out of the hospital with his second bout of pnuemonia in 6 months. and he had been to his primary and pulmonary doctor two weeks before and it wasnt caught. Even with him complaining that he was having a hard time leaving the house with a oxy tank and was struggling to breathe. And now that he has been release his doctor cant see him for 5 weeks. Pretty disgusting She will send your records to a DR you never seen ? they will diagnose you unseen?! WoW! Mercy is just that good? first set of MRI'S major problems found ! Along with accidental findings . Your Dr. Patel made me 10xs worse than before surgery! I have to take meds just to get up out of bed because of their handi work. IF YOU need surgery on your spine you better find another practice & Medical group all together. They are rotten all the way up! Their Mercy San Juan is worse than a Tijuana free clinic. I really was going to let the way your office dog treated my family caught on camera, but you have staff or patients attack me? I wanted to leave on a high note, seems I was the Only one to do so. You did me a great favor, because you were obviously too busy covering for inept doctors there at Mercy. The whole Group is a joke! Along with Hospital! Good riddens. Also you might want to tell Amber to watch it, I will seek legal recourse if there is Cancer that you people missed. I did not want to go out like this, but your employees & patients need to be leashed! I was treated as a drug addict which I am very far from, I requested to come off Fentanyl & other meds. So. Dad what was once a great Dr.s office now they don't answer the phone. Prescription requests wait for days. Appointments are months out. What an absolute joke. Now I'm changing doctors. read more

Dr. Braid is by far the best doctor I have ever had. She is very thoughtful, compassionate and kind. She is a great listener and never makes you feel rushed. Her diagnoses have always been accurate and her follow up is great. She will refer you to another doctor if she feels you need one, but I like that she is kind of a one stop shopping since she does testing that I used to have to go to several different doctors to have done. I am so happy to have her as my doctor. read more

I have been a patient of dr braids for some years now. Dr braid herself is absolutely fantastic. However, if you need an appointment to be seen, I hope it's not for something urgent since you are going to have to wait quite some time before you can get in. Every time I need an appointment it is an absolute hassle. Yesterday was my last straw. I broke out into a really bad rash all over my body over the weekend so come Monday morning at 8 am I called to make an appointment. The receptionist on the phone was talking to a coworker our whole 10+ minute conversation and barely paid attention to me while she helped her coworker. Finally she said that she was going to have a nurse call me back to see how to proceed with my rash - can't I just get an appointment to have it looked at? (Mind you I have a newborn at home and have been very worried that I might be contagious and might give it to her) Well, noon rolls around and I still haven't heard from anyone so I decide to call. The lady I originally spoke to answered and said that the nurse is now on her lunch and will call me back asap when she returns. Well, hours go bye again and still nothing so I call back. It's almost 3 at this point. A different lady answers now and transfers me to the nurse. After a 5+ minute hold the nurse answers and says that she's sorry she didn't call me back since there was some misunderstanding on who my PCP was...? So wait, why couldn't you have called me if there was an issue? Anyways, the nurse says I'm fine and to take Benadryl - she didn't even ask me a single question! I said, "wait, I'm concerned if I'm contagious since I have a newborn at home." She then responded with, "the rash is on your stretch marks right?" Whaaaaaaaat?! Where did you get that from? Never did anyone ask me anything about my rash and now we are assuming it's on my stretch marks? I then told the nurse what was going on and explained my symptoms. The nurse then says, "yeah, we will need to see you." (Duh you need to see me!) The nurse offers me an appointment for the following day late in the afternoon. So then I explain to her that the reason I called so early in the morning was to get an appointment asap to avoid having to wait longer and how nobody returned my phone calls and that I had to call 3 times to get a hold of someone for them to tell me I needed an appointment when I wanted to make one right from the beginning! The nurse had zero compassion and told me to take some Benadryl again. I asked if it was ok since I'm breastfeeding and she responded with, "yeah, it might make you sleepy and in turn might make your baby sleepy." And then she laughed as if to say 'you might get lucky and actually get some sleep if it makes your baby sleepy!' I seriously couldn't believe it! That was not funny to me AT ALL! This was the second time I was "treated" over the phone incorrectly. The first time I had a nurse read the wrong results to me and tried to have me go to the hospital for a procedure I knew I didn't need. Thankfully I listened to my gut! A day later she called back and apologized and thanked me for not going to the hospital. I understand that dr braid is a great dr and she is in high demand, but everything else is so unorganized it's actually dangerous for patients. I hate to have to look for a new dr but I really have no other choice at this point. read more

Dr. Braid is truly a wonderful person and doctor. I always feel like I am visiting an old friend. I am comfortable telling her anything, she never judges and is always helpful, caring and informative. She takes the time to discuss all my concerns and options. I have never met a more gentle and sensitive doctor who instantly puts me at ease and always makes me me laugh. I trust her completely. I also appreciate that for more pressing matters, one can get into the office more quickly to be seen by one of her very competent practitioners or physician's assistants- they are just as amazing. Dr Braid is the most caring and considerate doctor I've ever met. She actually listens to you and never seems to be in a rush. She's always on time and spends time with you which I really appreciate. Dr. Braid is an angel disguised ass a doctor. She helped me through one of my most trying medical experiences. My second year of college, I was living 6 hours away from home and found out I was a type 1 diabetic. My insurance continuously denied me being seen by a doc because I was out of network. Dr. Braid went to bat for me and called insurance and health care providers all over to demand they see me. She saved my life, and for that I'll always be grateful. read more

My doctor for over 15 years. Glad she is no longer my doc. Used to be compassionate, intelligent and seemingly in your court. Now all you can see is her pa and the communication between the two is questionable. After 7 months of 4 hospital stays and a month stay in a care center she wrote on my medical records that nothing was wrong except for a medication given to me at the care center. She never did investigate and try to find out what was wrong with me. She never studied more than she had too. And you cannot see her ever, you have to go to her pa always. Sad for me to see a onetime fantastic doctor who has forgotten that it is her patients that matter. read more

Dr Braid is a great doctor. She is knowledgeable, caring, understanding, and takes the time to listen. These are great qualities to have. I just moved here to the bay area and have not found anyone as good or caring as Dr Braid. I miss her very much. I would recommend her to everyone I know. Thank you for all you do.
